A superb place, this was our fourth visit, once a walled city, lovely harbour area & lots of charm.

This is a City location, so little point in expecting vast expanses of sand, or much by way of entertainment outside of the hotel.
Having said that the city, in my view, is one of the nicest in the Mediterranean.

The beach I went to was nice and clean it was lovely only a 15 minuite walk away from Hotel Esmerelda. The resort was very clean, I didn't see one bit of rubbish the whole time I was there and there is lots of bins to put rubbish in.

Very clean mainly residential place, which makes a nice cultural change. No british bars!!
Small beach approx 10 mins away, not very nice though. Don't expect to see any peddleos or sun beds on this beach.
If you are not beachy people, great rocks to sit on overlooking the sea with breathtaking veiws.

Citudella is a port, used by yatchs and two ferries. A lovely historial town, with many interesting places to visit. We enjoyed visiting the market area, on one occassion, we were entertained by some local folk dancing and music.

Because I can.t drive I was worried I might end up stuck in a boring place but Cuitadella was ideal. It had lovely spanish architecture being the old menorcan capital. It has a lovely port lined with buzzing restaurants and further in the town great shops where I picked up some great bargains. I didnt actually stay in the hotel in the evenings much, I preferred to wander round cuitadella soaking up the aptmosphere. One evening there were spanish singers on a boat in the port and it was fantastic standing there in the balmy heat listening. The beach near the hotel, about a 15 minute walk was perfect. A long cove with a little sandy beach that was never ever crowded. We grew to really love it. I would go back to the Esmeralda but generally I like to visit different places every time. But I do reccomend it.

I have given the beach a score of one ...only because there isn't a lower option, same for the resort entertainment.......Definately would not visit cuitadella again escpecially with kids!

Ciutadella is very quiet and not particulary geared for tourists........very little in the way of entertainment, although it is very prety. There is no beach in Ciutadella, however Cala N bosch is only a short bus / taxi ride and is fantastic for the day. Cala Galdana also has a beautiful beach and is worth a visit.

The resort was certainly clean, We knew before going that Ciutadella wasn't very touristy but this was a nice change. We were lucky that during our stay was the festival of St Joan and the town buzzed off it. This ended with the best firework display I have ever seen. The harbour was so pretty as was the architecture of the town - a delight to walk through.
