This complex is split into zones from 1-5, there are receptions at zones 3 and 5. We stayed in zone 4.

The apartment was very clean, with towels changed twice and bedding once (we stayed for 1 week). The staff where very friendly, and helpful.

We took a holdhall for swimming kit for our arrival as the appartments are available at different times, this is understandable, as some change over days are really busy, if rooms not ready you can leave cases in reception and change in the toilets, although I do beleive a room is available. We were lucky as are room ready half an hour after arrival.

Half board very reasonable, we choose to eat out which was a bit expensive, although the restaurant at the complex in the main area is excellent. Sun beds limited at zone 5 swimming pool, but if you don't mind paying a small fee for a sun bed then the pool under seperate management at the maize/water chutes is very good, plus if you eat a snack at the restaurant then you get your money back.

We really enjoyed this holiday, and you could say it was partly due to the position of our apartment.

Zone 3, with the pool/restaurant on our left and a play area almost in front of us. We were comfortable letting the kids go to both on their own, as they were close. It's also handy as from our apartment you could put the kids to bed and still enjoy the entertainment from a comfortable distance.

However the entertainment was at times a bit naff, with the bar closing at 11.00/11.30pm- which was a bit early for us! There is more entertainment in the main bit and better quality too. It also goes on for a bit longer!
The staff were great, with fantastic English and very well mannered.

The beach was a 5-10 minute walk and worth it too.
Inflatables, buckets, balls, etc are always left around and handed over to people when others are going home- so don't be shy in asking and taking (within reason of course!!). The kids normally share really well, as everything was almost given to them and will be left at the end!!

The rooms were pretty reasonable, with 2 bedrooms, a balcony at the front and back and kitchen (with a proper oven and toaster!) and comfy seating area. Oh tables and chairs too inside and out! Microwaves could be hired along with pushchairs, umbrellas and many other things that I can't remember!

The option to go half board was available, daily at 15 Euros for adults and 7 for kids. That included breakfast and either lunch or dinner. It sounds a lot but to be honest when we calculated it all, we would have saved doing that!

Stayed in zone 5 apartment. Initially a ground floor but we asked to change this to an upstairs with balcony. Nice and clean - no ants, flies or other bugs.

Spent most of the time at the San Jamie club pool which was about 5 minutes walk and then a further 10 minutes at the beach.

Zone 5 restaurant was great to eat out in and so was the San Jamie club - to be honest everywhere we ate was great.

I had imagined it being quite a trek to the beach but it was a nice walk in the sun really.

Stayed in the San Jaime complex (zone 5) the furthest part from the beach (10 mins walk). Apartment lovely and clean. Bedding changed twice weekly, towels every other day.

Took the self catering option but you can buy a half board ticket daily if you wish. We did try the half board option but although the adults get a 3 course meal they don't tell you that the children only get 2 courses. Apart from that the food was good.

The best entertainment was actually in the San Jaime club with something different every night. The waiters at the club worked very hard and where very pleasant.

Only problem going in October is that the resort in closing down for the season (which the reps failed to mention). Towards the end of the holiday part of the complex (e.g.: supermarket, flumes, San Jaime club/pool) had shut down so we ended up going into Son Bou itself (most of that had shut down also). Would definitely go back again as we had a great holiday - maybe try the summertime next time when everything is open.

Stayed in Zone 3, with the rectangular pool and the Jardin bar/restaurant. Very central location which was very clean and well cared for.

Staff very pleasant and extremely helpful, more so in 2nd week when they got to know us.

Entertainment consisted of a mini disco for children at approx. 2030hrs every night;and then a variety of acts each week.Bar shut at approx.2300hrs every night and lights turned off at 2400hrs. This meant that for people with young children they were not being kept awake with the noise.

Most people when leaving, drop things like lilo's,beach mats, umbrellas, books and various toys outside the Kids Club(next to sub-aqua club). Always worth having a look every couple of days.

The apartments were a little old fashioned, and in need of a little renorvation, however they were very clean, and well equipped. We had 2 balconies one on either side of the apartment which was very nice as we had 2 seperape views, the front view of the sea and resort and the back view of the tennis courts and gardens. The maid service comes twice a week, and they are very good.

We stayed in the part near the mushroom pool. Getting a sun bed was a nightmare to say the least, there was not enough to meet demands. At night the staff chain and lock them up 'till about 9.00 the following day!! Then if you are not in the que to have one allocated to you you've had it bearing in mind this was early september, I would not like to be there july/august or school hols. Other than this there was nothing to complain about, we spent most of the time on the grass outside the apt. chasing after our 2 year old. The property was very clean and the staff were very good. Our son's teddy got scooped up in his bed sheets by accident and we asked at reception, never expecting to see it again but they found it and came chasing after us in the laundry van as we were leaving on the coach!!!! I would recomend the complex to familes and would go again.

Before you go to the airport i suggest you wear shorts and t-shirt because it will be very hot in the coach and at the airport, when you arrive you might have to wait in the bar area as your room is not ready for you to go in to.
The pool area was clean to my standard but if it isn't then there are 2 other pools in 1 min walking distance.
The rep that we had was very helpful all the way through the holiday and she told us the best beaches to go to and bars, restaurants.

Okay, just got back, great time, great weather

Anyway, The San Jaime (pronounced Hi-Me) complex consists of both Son Bou gardens and the San Jaime complex.

San Jaime is Thomson/Skytours etc and Son Bou Gardens is First Choice etc. This is when it gets kinda complicated as from what I could pick up San Jaime is Zone 3 and 5, zone 3 being nearer the beach and the 'busier' of the 2 zones, we where in zone 5 (and although it only take 15 mins to the beach, its a struggle at 35C and carrying bags etc) Zone 3 has the 'Mushroom' swimming pool and zone 5 has the rectangular pool you see in the skytours brochure.

Son bou gardens is mostly Zone 4 and 6, 6 being even further from the beach, as you have to walk around the protected marsh land even though you can see the beach from your balcony.

Most of the entertainment takes place in Zone 4, which is the main stage and bar (Beer is a little dearer here though) which is different every night, starting at 10pm

You have a mini disco for the kids at 7.30pm at the Zone 5 Bar (Il Gondeliere) then some relaxing music etc

You then have the same mini disco at the Zone 3 restaurant at 8.30, followed by things like clowns, magicians, hypnotist, bingo etc.

San Jaime half board guest can eat at either the Zone 5 or 3 Restaurants, but not the the Zone 4 restaurant.

All in all I would highly recommend this resort and complex if you have kids aged between 3 and 12

We stayed at the resort in 2003 and are on our way back next week.
We hope it will be as enjoyable as the last time, staff were all very friendly and our appartment was clean and tidy.
We are hoping to stay in the same zone as before near the Gondelier restaurant. Is that zone 3 or 5?
The entertainment in the main area was very good and the pools were very clean.
