There were not many British in hotel at time of visit mostly Spanish guests but this added to the the enjoyment as we were forced to try out our Spanish.
Hotel is in a very quiet area and it is necessary to walk or take a taxi into town for entertaiment. The entertainment in hotel is poor although we did get a free drink as being two of only 3 couples to turn up for bingo!
We wanted a peaceful relaxing holiday and that is exactly what we got. Watch out for taxi drivers however we were charged 6 euro on 1st trip into town!

our room was lovely with 2 single beds together and a sofa bed, the bathroom was extremly clean and fresh,
we had a balcony over looking the pool which was lovely, with a patio table and chairs aswell
there was also a tv - only english channel though was sky news which got very repative, but handy to keep an eye of whats happening back home
we had a peceful 1st night, breakfast was buffet style, couldnt fault the food at all did everything and the menu changed nearly everyday,
drinks were very cheap too
met our REP at 9am who again was brilliant, and really helped us out with places to visit - as im disabled he advisewd as so well! aslso couldnt fault thomas cook who looked after us all week
this was my first ever trip abroad, and also disabled so was very nervous but i couldnt fault anything with the hotel, resort or any of the surrounding areas.
the whole hotel was absolutly spotless, and each morning our beds were made, and towels were changed when we put them in the bath tub like they ask.
no problems by the pool either, so sun bed blocking which was good, everyone was friendly and grreated each other as we went past.
only issue i had was the pool was freezing!
but the whole hotel was immaculate inside and out,
though it would be nice to have the bar saloon non smoking, but im used to the smoking ban here in the UK as im a non smoker
entertainment wise..there isnt really much at the hotel, random music quizes and a snake show with real snakes thats about it really
we felt very looked after here, as one evening during our trip to oasis park the bus broke down on the way back, and we didnt get back to the hotel till 9pm and the resteraunt closed at 9.30pm and the receptionsit was waiting for us outside and she was concerned she hadnt seen us all day and the bus turned up - normaly only taxis and airport arrive at that time
she told us not to worry and rang ahead to the resterunt and they looked after us,
it was very nice to be cared for like that, something i never experience here in the UK

Dinners were also buffet style, with different selection each night - like italian, american, chinese etc. We ate there one night, american night, and thought it was good. We prefer going out each night trying new places, however, would have been happy if we had been all inclusive.
The Hotel is situated almost inbetween the sand dunes and town centre - both were in walking distance. Although because it is likely to be viewing the sand dunes during the day in the heat, we found it best getting a 4-5 euro taxi. Upto the town centre was 3-4 euros in a taxi. There were also small beaches near the hotel, about 5 - 10 mins away.
We could not fault the hotel staff in any way. They were helpful and friendly, always with a smile on their faces. The maintenance man was also very efficient (our fridge wasn't working day one - but that was quickly sorted). The thomas cook rep, debbie, was also really helpful and was always there to help.
We didnt go to the hotel entertainment. Mainly due to my partner taking an ear infection on holiday, so we didnt stay out at night, however going by other holiday makers, it was recommended.
If going back, this being our second time so highly likely we would, we would defo stay at the arena. We had previously stayed at playa park. They are only 2 streets away from each other, but miles away on quality.
Hot water was always available for showers - Ive never actually had this luxury before - it was great!
The pool area had loads of beds and were never held by sun towels.
Lunch at the pool bar was great - highly recommend the toasties - mmm!!
The air conditioning in the rooms was a god saver - obviously noise travels in hotels/apartments - the air conditioning eliminated this. Also, because it was individually controlled - we were able to decide when we needed it - much better than some hotels who use centrally controlled air con!
All the maids and staff were soo friendly. Honestly can't think of anything bad to say about this hotel.

The breakfast was buffet style, but I would advise other guests to go in as early as possible as choice becomes limited and items are not refilled.
There were alot of Italian and Spanish guests who were out with their towels on the sunbeds as early as 7am. As there were not enough sunbeds for everyone by lunchtime, us brits decided to play them at their own game and out went our towels too!!
Entertainment at the hotel is non existant if you are British. Instead it is centered around other nationalities staying there. There are tv's in the room but again no british channels except for sky sports news which comes a bit tiresome after a while. If you need a kettle in your room then ask at reception. They will also give you tea, coffee etc.
Although we love Fuerteventura and are planning on returning I don't think I would stay at this hotel again.
It definately doesn't deserve the four stars it has been awarded.

The hotel is set about 2kms from town which suited us fine. It takes approximately 15 mins to get into town or a little less if you cut across the beach.
The rooms are spacious for a hotel rather than an apartment, and this was something we were concerned about as we usually travel self catering. All rooms also have a terrace or balcony though we were fortunate to get a terrace at the front and back of the room. This applied to all the rooms between 112 and 122.
The breakfast was excellent. There was a full cooked english breakfast and also a very good selection of continental breakfast items. There was also the added benefit of chilled Cava on tap which is not something we have had before but a habit which we will certainly take up on holiday and indeed at home.
We did not eat any other meals at the hotels but other guests did say that the food was plentiful and the variety was good.
The hotel seems to accommodate for the older resident and this was evident in the entertainment programme which seemed to have arrived direct from the home for the terminally bewildered. Most was not worth a second look, which was a shame as we were at the hotel for a fortnight and the entertainment was on a weekly rota. At least we knew how bad things were likely to get when we watched everything in the 2nd week.
Our one big complaint was that a jacket "went missing" from the room. The room was not broken into and we knew exactly were it had been left on the day prior to us noticing it was missing. You may draw your own conclusions.
All that said, we would return to the Arena, particularly as a winter break. The hotel was not very busy and there was ample sunbeds around the heated freshwater pool - which was handy with a 2 year old.

A bit of a walk to town which was nice or taxi to town was just 2.50euros.
The food was ok most of the time but Steve does not eat white meat and on 2 nights that was the only meat selection. New Years Eve was absolutely fantastic, they layed on a banquet fit for royalty, wine and champagne flowing which was all included in the price which was an added bonus.
The staff also seated the guests excellently, this made couples mingle with other couples and they stayed friends for the rest of their stay.
Hotel was very clean, rooms cleaned everyday, towels changed etc.
Entertainment was ok but not much to comment on - 1 particular guy who played the electric bass guitar was outstanding! well done!
All staff in the hotel were extremely friendly, went out of their way to make sure things were ok. Overall - very pleasant week and some sunshine thrown in too so we came home looking very refreshed!

The breakfast was excellent, dinner was fair although there was an obvious shortage of quality meats, the staff were friendly, entertainment was sparse and there was virtually no bars in the surrounding area.
The hotel bar prices were expensive so it was essential to go in to town for a good night out.however the stay was good value and we would return here for the peace & quiet.

Good selection of food.
20 min walk to town not bad, needed to walk off all the food we'd eaten.
The hotel staff were very pleasant and gave good local information.
Preferred to go out in the evening so we didn't experience hotel's entertainment.
I would stay at this hotel again and I would highly recommend anyone to stay there.

We found the hotel to be very clean and the rooms were spacious with all of the necessary equipment.
The bathroom was good with a hairdryer but it didn't dry your hair very well!
The food was quite nice although we prefer to eat out in the evening.
The poolside area had plenty of sun loungers with a snack bar which served nice food.
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were cleaned every day.
We didn't experience the hotel entertainment so can't really comment on that.
We would definitely visit this hotel again.
