Rooms in Main Hotel have more breeze and sea view. They are also closer to the main facilities
Didn't bother with the themed restaurant, the normal one was excellent.

Try for pool view room. Some of the ground floor apartments at the rear of the complex didn't get any sun.

The resort of corralejo was lovely , very clean , great weather and friendly locals.not too big but not too small, perfect place to relax but also has lots to keep you occupied if required.

The resort itself is excellent. Beaches are spotless with beautiful turquoise waters. Down in the square is a real Canarian theme with small fish restaurants along the harbour. I am definitely going back to this resort.

Just returned from a wonderful week in Corralejo - our first visit to Fuerteventura. We stayed in the private villa Casa Punta Elena which we booked through the excellent www.islandsinthesun.co.uk. Flights were also booked with them which meant the whole thing was ABTA protected.
The resort of Corralejo is one I would definitely like to visit again. We love the winter sunshine. I expect it's quite different in summer. It was plenty warm enough for sunbathing and swimming in the sea. Sometimes it was a bit breezy. Of course it was cooler in the evenings but we had only two cloudy days and no rain.
We were staying on Avenida Grandes Playas about 10 mins walk from the main drag where the shops/bars etc started and about another 8 mins from the start of the Old Town. This was full of character and there were some fantastic restaurants. (see the Restaurant review topic)
We found the 2 large supermarkets in the Old Town where the locals go were by far the cheapest (Hyperdino and Eurospar). The wine was unbelievably cheap! Plenty of choice for fresh fish/meat/sausages if you are having a barbie. They also did spit roast chickens and ready prepared salads and had fresh crusty bread. Many of the smaller supermarkest also did fresh bread which was great for making your own sarnies (chorizo and cheese) yummy. You can also buy vacuum packed spanish tortillas, great for a snack. Oh my God I feel hungry after all that food! Well what about the bars? We loved the Rock Island Bar. Live acoustic music every night. There were no backing tracks or anything. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed. Eric at Imagine was good but a bit too far up his own backside we thought. There are Karaoke bars, quizzes and all sorts.
Well the beaches were super too. Such a choice of different types - town beaches with snackbars, the sand dune beaches outside town, all lovely. Plenty of watersports to try/watch out at flag beach. Our favourite beach was between the 2 RIU hotels. Nice and easy to get in and out of the sea, sunbeds if you wanted them, volleyball, snackbar. The sea is rough some days and the red flags are flying with coast-guard patrols.
We visited El Cotillo where there are surfing beaches to the left of the village and lagoons to the right where the snorkelling was good. There are a lot of nudies about though as there are on flag beach. We also visited Caleta de Fuste where there is a lovely sandy bay with shallow water and great sand. Sunbeds were €9 for 2 beds and 1 brolly.
In Corralejo there is bike hire, diving, snorkelling and a variety of boat trips including ferries to Lanzarote and Lobos.
One of the best things about visiting in March was that although some of the restaurants/shops closed early there was always plenty of free parking available for the old town or beaches. We had sunny weather nearly all week and although the sea felt cold at first it was fine once you were in.
As we were not with a tour operator as such I had pre-booked 2 cars on the internet with Auto-Reisen,. I would not recommend them. The process took an age at the airport. We had booked 2 group C cars and were given a Corsa which was fine (but group B I thought) and a Citroen C3 (also group B I thought ). However we were too fed-up to complain by then. The Citroen (nicknamed ' sxxtroen' by my son-in-law) was the most clapped out thing. One windscreen wiper had no rubber on and the hatchback thing rattled all the week. I know we should have complained but we would have lost half a days' holiday if we had taken them back to the airport. At least they didn't break down. Petrol was cheap at only 74 cents a litre.
Enjoy!

We actually spent nearly all our time in El Cotillo which is about 20 minutes by car from Corralejo. But we ate out in Corralejo a few times and the town seemed fine.

Generally a clean resort but with the usual dog mess found here and there. Entertainment catering for all tastes and of good quality. Beach at the time of visit wasn't the cleanest I've experienced before - lots of washed up debris. It's the discarded cigarette ends that spoil it.

Spotlessly clean, very low key entertainment.

We love this resort. We have been coming here for the past 3 years and have just booked up to go again in September. It is very clean. I think there are 3 beaches in the resort with a big massive on up by the dunes, which are amazing. The beaches are wonderful and the sea water is crystal clear on most days. The beach by the harbour tends to be very busy. The beach with Wakiki bar on is much nicer and quiter.
There are some great places to eat around by the harbour. Especially El Tren which is located on the waterfront in the old town.
For early evening entertainment we found a bar called the Winter Gardens. There is a quiet friendly atmosphere, no loud music, no football, and no children allowed!
For something different head off to the Imagine Bar at the far end of the main road and check out the wonderful musical genius. Its such a great night out there. He plays almost any song on any instrument, he plays mostly acoustic guitar, piano, base guitar but other instruments too. Great atmosphere, but chilled out at the same time. We spent 13 nights out of our 14 night stay in there. Staff are so friendly and welcoming. Excellent place.
This resort is slow paced and has a relaxed atmosphere although it is the liveliest out of all the resorts in Fuerteventura with plenty to do.

Once you have mad you friends amongst the very friendly staff ask them where you might find Kennie AKA Sadie. Kennie has his own show bar but due to lack of advertising through Thomson staff he doesn't do very well. Therefore if you can't find him peforming at his bar 'SADIE'S' in the town centre by the TAJ MAHAL you will find him at the OASIS Bar from about 9.30pm. You can also hear him on the local radio station HOTFM 96.6 FM AND 103.1FM, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 7-9pm. Or if you want a taster before you go log on to www.hotfmcanary.com and listen live. Mention you heard it from me and you may get a song played for you.

The resort area was in general clean - there were of course always a few places that let it down.
Entertainment was the normal bars and clubs that you would expect in a holiday resort.
There were some great beaches and some very rocky beaches and a few dirty parts where dogs were allowed (need I say any more) The beaches on the sand dunes go for miles but they are quite a walk - better to hire a car or get a taxi.

correlajo had everything we wanted.
loads to do and loads of places to eat. several small beaches here with clear shallow water.sand sculptures on beahc ner harbour and excellent restaurants. kids loved it. opposite our hotel were trampolines etc
loads of supermarkets and shops but not to tacky. if you find the old end of town it has excellent kids play area and nice typical old spanish bars and larger supermarkets. (hyper dino)overall lots to do very accesable and a short taxi ride to the beautiful beaches near the sand dunes.lots of building work going on here which i hope will not spoil it.we did not hear any noise from building work where we were staying but i can imagine you must where it is going on. i can imagine it could be very busy in the summer months so i would highly reccomend it for a winter holiday.
