Location
I went with my friend, her boyfriend and his friend. Me and his friend had to share a room - the bed is a double but 2 singles pushed together so we had no problems pulling them apart.
The hotel was huge and we were always finding new areas. The food was good, even for someone as fussy as me! The pools were nice. Beware of the seating area under the waterfall section - it's very echoy! The gardens and views are lovely.
I spent some time in the gym, but not very long as it was far too hot! The rooms are nice, bathrooms very nice. Mini bar prices are good. The bar area is very pretty with little rivers and bridges (beware - high heels get stuck in the gaps of the bridges!) cocktails are lovely. All in all, this hotel was excellent, nice and relaxing. Wide mix of people - nationality and age groups.

We booked ourselves via the internet, found flights the same way, and arranged to hire a car from Avis for our entire 7 day stay.
Once we arrived we were impressed right away with the style of the hotel. The receptionist on arrival spoke and undertstood English extremely well, and due to our late arrival she advised us to go stright to the dining room for dinner, while our cases were taken to our room. These were there once we had finished dinner.
The food on the whole was very good and there were variations every evening on the menu. There is a large selection of dishes available, including all the usual cold cuts, and lots of different cheeses, to pork and beef steaks, pasta, fish, and even a vegetarian option should you like that.
Rooms are very clean, comfortable and of a good size. The bathroom is also of a high standard, and fittings which which included a hair dryer, although my wife was glad she'd taken her own as the one in our room couldn't blow a candle out, let alone dry your hair!!
The room also has a free to use safety deposit box, with a 6 digit code which you specify.
The drinks available at the pool bars, and inside the hotel itself we thought were very over priced. A Malibu and Coke, and a large beer would cost us about EUR 8.75. They charge you for the Malibu, then put another charge on for the addition of the Coke!! Why they cannot just put it in as one price I don't know.
Entertainment is frankly the weekest link as far as we were concerned. The best of the weeks displays was from the tribute band to the Four Tops - very good indeed. The other night's I wouldn't even bother with as the acts were (we felt) absolutely dire, and very amateurish.
As previously stated in other posts there is a lovely walk available along a sea wall to Maspalomas, and this is to be recommended, even though during a hot day it will ensure you get burnt as it'll take a good 25 minutes at a stroll.
We never had a problem finding sun beds although there were alot of people reserving them, but there did seem to be a lack of usable parasols as alot seemed to be broken.
Overall, a very nice break and would recommend this hotel to anyone, but be prepared for a walk into Maspalomas if you want good evening entertainment.
Incidentally, we found a bar called 'The 19th Hole' during a walk along the sea wall to Maspalomas. This bar is very good for lunches as there was a guy there playing the saxophone, flute, and he sang aswell!! Made our lunch on the last day very pleasant, and we thought he was very talented, and he should have been in our hotel in the evenings!!

The location was perfect with a wonderful view from our room on the 6th floor and from the patio areas
The hotel itself was beautifully built and comfortable where ever you went, with plenty of comfortable areas to sit within the hotel
The pool area was large and spacious and due to the time of year we visited both sun loungers and parsols were plentiful
All staff were excellent from the reception staff on arrival to the waiter staff and maids who always went that extra mile, we found both check in and out was unremarkable
The food was also excellent with a wide variety of choices, no one need ever go hungry there was some thing for everyone and the menus where varied night by night.
This hotel was in easy access to the busier resorts and a taxi into playa de ingles was a mere 3 euros and taxis were plentiful outside at any time during the day there is some building work going on in this new developing resort but it did not interfere with the holiday and more local facilites are begining to develop around playa de melonera with bars and shops in the shopping centre and we also found the bar staff out there were also very friendly
Again all i can say it was fantastic and i look forward to booking again soon

The reception was badly staffed and it took us an hour to queue up and check in. We then waited another hour for our luggage to be delivered; we did try to go and get it, but by then it had disappeared. On arriving at the room and finding that our balcony was literally about two or three meters from the public road, and our view was of a building site; we did try to change rooms. The reception staff were not helpful and said nothing could be done. They promised to look into the situation and get back to us - but never did!
The hotel is built on the side of a hill - so the reception is on the sixth floor with many of the rooms below. I would advise anyone getting a room on the first or second floors to beware!! Also, at first, we thought the people in the room above had a strange preoccupation with constantly moving their furniture about, but we quickly realised that this was because our room was below one of the sun patios - again beware of this if they give you a second floor room.
The food was quite repetitive (same salad and meat selection everyday - desert was either mousse or ice cream) and the restaurant is understaffed. Queuing to get into the buffet was common, sometimes for approximately ten minutes while tables were being cleared - breakfast time was particularly chaotic!!
The hotel's website advertises a second restaraunt and a gym; however, unlike other hotels such as the Rui Palace etc. these were not free to hotel half-board guests and had to be paid for.
I was also surprised to find that even though we went out straight after breakfast, there were no sun loungers available for two days in a row. There were lots of people lying on the ground, on the grass, on the benches etc. Again, this is something that is more to do with poor planning and organisation on the part of the management of the hotel than the staff.
The rooms were clean and the cleaners were friendly. The waiters were also helpful. Unfortunately, this is the best thing I can say about the H10.

Very interesting in architecture and probably not to everyones taste but we really loved it.
The food was fantastic with a different choice every night and chef's on hand to cook your dish fresh. The restaurant did become busy and sometimes you queued for a couple of minutes to be seated but what can you expect from a big hotel? The other restuarant (Gaudi) is a very reasonably priced a'la carte restaurant and hotel guests receive a discount.
The entertainment was not up to much although the pianist played every night in one of the bars. I would not reccommend this hotel if you had young children to entertain as it is a fair walk from the main shops/restaurants and not much in the way of evening shows.
The rooms were beautiful and cleaned to perfection and the staff eager to help and please.
We are already looking forward to our return - a highly recommended hotel.

Our room was large clean and very comfortable with a sea view (which we paid extra for at time of booking)
I was surprised to learn that the hotel had only been open a few years as some areas appeared a little tired (pool towel frayed - non matching cups and saucers etc)
This hotel is categorized as 5 star but in my opinion is only 4 star.
The restaurant staff and pool bar staff are more concerned in how you are going to pay for food/drinks rather than efficient service. That said the restaurant food was certainly plentiful if you are looking for international buffet and is more of a canteen than a restaurant with a strange dress code - no tailored shorts for men but jeans are ok!
The bar staff are friendly and service is good!
The area is very up and coming with a lot of building work going on - something you are not warned about in the brochure - but in a couple of years will be very cosmopolitan.
The pool area can get busy if you get up late and the staff are slow to find extra sun loungers - the beach (across a road to the hotel) is pebbly and not large.

Cleanliness:
You could not fault the hotel on its highest of standards of cleaning, every sqaure foot of floor was cleaned 1-2 times daily. The rooms were spottless, pools and walkways were very clean.
Food:
The food selection is vast and covers a wide range of tastes, somethings were a little to exotic for our tastes but there was always something bland to go with incase of emergencies. The only complaint here would be is that getting it roasting hot was a bit of a problem sometimes it felt just warm, and when eating chicken your always a little wary. But i suppose that comes with a buffet. THe pool side food was excellent, minimal choice for a five star and can get a little boring after 14 days by the pool.
Location:
This is tricky because everyone has there own idea of a holiday. Personnally me and my girlfriend wanted an extremely quite and relaxed holiday. Which is what you get the hotel is situated quite a way from the main resort of Mas Palomas, in a region called Meloneras. There is one local shop and thats it. So if you want stores and bars you better book Mas Palomas or Playa Ingles. (I called Playa Ingles the GT Yarmouth of Spain LOL)
The walk from the hotel to Mas Palomas is excatly 25 minutes at a stroll. This is a long a pleasent sea wall so not hard going. (But your GF will get whistled at by the builders of another complex there, need to say that this NOT near the H10). The beach infront of the hotel is black sand, and is very pleasent as it saves a trex to the Mas Palomas Beach. But the pools are far more inviting and sun beds are in great supply, but the mats can dissappear quickly. Sun bed reserving is an issue, it humours me to what people put on there beds, a ball, a hat then a newspaper! But we never had a problem, just remember to reserve on the way to breakfast.
Staff:
The staff there are excellent, so friendly and helpful, they always say hello when they pass you, even the maids and cleaners. The Resturant staff are good fun and always up for a joke or two. The entertaiment team are also very good, they kept the kids busy and out of the way so that you could relax. Pool side was good, water aerobics and polo. Fun to sit and watch, although the older men get very competitive at the water polo LOL
Entertainment:
The evenings entertaiment was very good, different every night we were there. Some professional and some a little tacky but still fun to watch. The tribute bad was excellent.
All in all an excellent holiday, but there are just two things to watch out for when booking:
1) Make sure you do not get the room on the ground floor at the end of the complex, it looks at a wall and is next to road, we got this one on arrivals but quickly had it changed the next day, Welldone Rep!
2) When we were there (Aug 03), if you stand in the middle of the hotel facing the see, to your right is a small road which is for deliveries and beach access, quite nearly all of the time. But accross this road is a large waste land area. They had two diggers and bulldozers working there on our visit (The room above is closest and you can hear them at 7am), I would imaging what ever they were going to build there is now started so please ask before booking about that.

There is a real mix of guests from northern and southern Europe so it's good that there are plenty sun beds to go around.
The resident cabaret band is not to be missed. They tackle a wide range of songs in a way that would bring out the best in Terry Wogan's sense of humour.
Overall, a really good place for a holiday and I'd recommend it to anyone.
