The part the stood out for me the most was the entertainment. Jonathan did an excellent job with entertaining everyone of all ages, but especially the children with his kids disco (which I must admit I joined in as well), also with his various activities thought out the day like the water polo and the shows at night for example the snake show and the magic show. It would not have been half as good with out Jonathan the Entertainer.
Thanks for a great holiday. Hope to come back soon

Hotel very clean - pool area and terraces cleaned with an industrial cleaning machine every morning - sunbeds cleaned and hosed down once a week. Any repairs carried out quickly (pool area, apartments, etc,) hotel staff okay but a bit grumpy at times but having said that, a lot of that was down to the attitude and behaviour of some of the guests and their kids allowed to run riot at times.
Big issue with sunbeds being reserved at silly times in the morning, despite there being more than enough for everyone, and yes we are now definitely worse than the Germans at this....
Entertainment was okay and Jonathan did his best, but he did get on your nerves, when he was constantly plugging his disco CD's, photos with him, and the various specials at the hotel with regard to meals, etc. Also, I don't know why he bothered to have a weekly timetable, since he never seemed to stick to it and you had to guess what was happening on any particular day so far as acts, events, etc were concerned. Becky was there last time and was always going to be a hard act to follow and it wouldn't put us off going back there again.
Apartments 5 mins from beach and restaurants, and a short taxi ride to the centre of Puerto Rico. Overall a great family aparthotel and very good value for money

expect to pay 10 euros a week for your safe, and a 10 euro deposit, about 2 euros to do your laundry, and get your ice cream from the shop on site rather than the pool bar as they are cheaper for some reason!
The rooms are well equipped, although your air con is additional, the views from the balcony are lovely, and the rooms were tidied almost everyday when we were there, bed sheets changed once a week, and your dishes washed up if left!
The entertainer jonathan was great, although our little one was to young to take part he still took time to chat and make us feel really welcome, the games on site are aimed at both kids and parents, water polo, pool, golf etc, so its a real family orientated complex. What i would say though as we experienced in block b is you do get a few kids running about late at night, but things usually go quiet around 12, we didnt find it to much of a problem though.
Overall would we go again, yes, just looking at booking it for next year!

There were a lot of children at the hotel for the time of year and a lot of entertainment for them, which as a couple with no kids did not entertain us! but saying that the entertainment guy Jonathon was very good and had lots of energy.
One thing that was annoying were the families that would come down and reserve the sunbeds at 8 in the morning up to 7 at a time which meant by the time we went down about 10.30 there were no beds left.
All in all lovely hotel and would definetly go back.

However, on the downside it was annoying to read on the notices around the pool and in the information book in the rooms, the various rules which were never observed or enforced i.e no reserving sun beds, what a joke! Everyone was at it. My husband counted 21 people hanging around one morning for the pool cleaner to finish and as usual putting towels on several beds and then disappearing - sometimes not returning until after lunch. The staff apparently have authority to remove these but never did.
There was supposed to be no ball games or floats in the pool. You could hardly move in the pool for lilos and there were balls flying everywhere.
No kids under 8 in the jacuzzi. They were in it constantly. If you dared to go in there, there were small children jumping all over you.
There were a lot of apartments in this complex and I would say that the pool itself, sun terrace and seating area for entertainment in the evening are not big enough to accomodate everyone.
Some of the entertainment is really good but if you're not there early, then you have to sit on sun loungers round the poolside to watch it.
Peter the Great and the Elvis impersonator were fantastic.

Amadores is very relaxed and has lots of little restaurants along the beach you can take a taxi to Puerto Rico to one of the centres and have a livlier time there. We enjoyed this and felt that we had the best of both worlds.
The entertainment at the Mirador was very good Beccy was excellent and there was no pressure to join in if you did not want to. There were lots of activities for the children and the aqua aerobics was good fun.
We tended to go out in the evenings and return for the last drink. The air conditioning did not go on until our second week and then you have to pay for it which is a rip off!! You even have to pay for the television in your room. We felt that they would be charging for the sunbeds next - which if you are not down at 7.30 am forget it as you will be lying on the concrete at the pool.
When we left 24 July it was very very busy and had been much quieter for the first week. There is a lot of noise from the large hotel being built beside the mirador. Would I go back? To Amadores yes to the Mirador probably not as this is not a 4 star hotel but probably 2 star.

Some 2 years after construction they've decided to install air cons in all the rooms, probably due to the lack of people returning for a July - September holiday where you'd be in danger of slowly baking during the night.
For these apartments to have been built without even a ceiling fan is almost criminal.
Still, it's only the British that holiday in this establishment from what I can gather and we put up with all sorts?!
The Spar supermarket next door was almost open as was a beach end boardwalk style bar. The supermarket's long overdue for the self-catering apartments around it.
Direct has it down as 4 star probably because of the kids entertainment and adult cabarets in the evening.
The more astute Spanish awarded it 3 stars, probably because of the glaring air con ommission!
Becky and Leanne did a grand job on the entertainment front and the Spanish staff did their best.
It's still the quieter and better option and will be graet when the air con is switched on, the supermarket opens and the beach end bar opens it's doors...

The rooms and all areas of the hotel were spotless. Towels changed daily and rooms cleaned daily. However, make sure that you ask for a room with a view when making your booking. We had to change rooms at a cost of 30 euros but it was worth it for the stunning view.
Although we were self catering, once we discovered how good the restaurant was we ate there quite a lot. The buffets were EXCELLENT value - they were themed e.g. Italian, Mexican, International etc. Sometimes there were offers e.g. two for the price of one. The pool bar was also good for snacks with very helpful staff. Could do with more staff and a faster till when the Happy Hour is on! Food was ready in a few minutes.
The location of the hotel is just a few minutes walk from the splendid Amadoras beach. There are bus stops for east and west more or less at the entrance to the hotel. Taxis are in abundance. A 20-minute cliff walk takes you to Puerto Rico where the ferries leave from.
All staff were extremely friendly.
The entertainment was really good with a different show every night for the two weeks. Peter the Great is a show not to be missed. Becky and Leanne do a grand job both with the children and the adults. The aqua aerobics was good fun. The Happy Hour was a great idea (4-5 and 8-9) and the Bingo was good - if you want to play try to take your own dabber as these disappear very quickly.
The only criticism I have is that the 'it is forbidden to reserve a sunbed' rule was totally ignored which meant that the genuine people coming down to spend time at the pool were unable to get an umbrella or the best spot as the whole pool area was full of 'reserved' sunbeds. Sunbeds were reserved before the pool was even open and people reserving them did not appear until after lunch sometimes. This should not be allowed. However, new umbrellas did arrive during our stay.
YES, I would visit Mirador again and I would certainly recommend it.
