Puerto Rico is a mere £1.50 from Amadores in a taxi....go there...

The Amadores Beach is absolutely lovely, and the area is very clean. However, very few of the little restaurants and pubs stay open at night. We found this quite strange. However, the few that did remain open at night had live entertainment.
Entertainment is not a problem, though. It only costs about 3 euros to take a taxi into Puerto Rico, where there are all sorts of pubs, clubs etc with something to suit all tastes.
It is a very nice walk into Puerto Rico and will take about 20 minutes.

Very clean resort entertainment at amadores beach cafe/bars and 2 euros to hire a sun canopy for day, and 2 euros to hire sunbeds for day we hired canopies but just lay on towels. Beach lovely at amadores but white coral (like small white jaggy stones) you get used to it, but remember when in the atlantic it is very very cold for a few mins, then even if you are in it all day keep applying the lotion as we did and still fot burnt in places. Temperatures were 40 degrees then. A must is buying binoculars and sitting on the balcony of gran amadores to see the ships, boats pedaloes jet ski-ing etc, sunset is a must so is sunrise.

With regard to the hotel’s location, the initial walk up the hill from the hotel to go down to the beach or Europa Centre is a killer, hence why it has scored only 3 for me. They have a very efficient bus service (air conditioned coach) that runs every 30 mins down to the beach and then back up. You can then walk to Puerto Rico (which was not my cup of tea, too tacky). We got a taxi from hotel to Puerto Mogan which is very pretty (12 Euros each way). Mogan has a market on a Friday. Amadores beach is lovely and you can hire sunbeds, umbrellas, they have toilets and showers. You have to pay for use of facilities (not too dear though), as the beach is very well run and clean then someone has to pay for the maintenance and upkeep. I cannot comment on resort entertainment as we did go to any, stayed at hotel. There is a Europa Centre near hotel with bars etc. It is an up and coming resort, there is building work going on but not too intrusive and Puerto Rico is nearby if you want more entertainment.

Amadores beach and bars are excellent. Whereas Puerto Rico is a little tatty. Resort entertainment is plentiful and very reasonably priced. Taxis in abundance and very reasonable too.
