We visited this hotel in January 2004.

When we looked at the brochure we thought it looked really nice, clean and inviting much to our disapointment most of the above were the opposite.

On arrival we were a bit concerned about being on a ground floor room so close to the pool with having our two year old son with us.

On entering the room we thought it was 'very' basic and looked like it was screaming out for a make over, there was toilet roll stuffed into air vents to keep the creepy crawlies out(or so we thought) until one night we returned from a night out, we put the bathroom light on to find loads of cockroaches run into a hole under the rim of the bath that was rusting away. To our horror one of the cockroaches that looked like it had lived there for years judging by the size of it was settling down for the night on our two year olds toothbrush. We immediately made a complaint and demanded another room which we were given no problem.

Rep really helpful and sympathetic, moved us immediately even though we ended up wasting a day of our holiday moving all our belongings. We spotted one other cockroach in the new room one night and that was it for us, we could not sleep a wink for fear of cockroaches crawling over our son or us while we slept.

This is the first holiday we have been counting the days to come back home, it was awful. The cockroach experience totally spoilt it for us. The rooms really were disgusting.

However the poolbar staff were really friendly and the food was not too bad either. The location of the hotel was pathetic also stuck up in the middle of nowhere with a hike down a massive winding hill to get into the main town. On site supermarket helped.

Entertainment was not bad I suppose cant moan about everything but they had a ridiculous small stage for the acts to dance etc on you couldnot have swung a cat.

Overall we will never be visiting this hotel again we would rather stay at home in the cockroach free zone!

I have visited the Aquasol 6 times now and I am going again in Nov 05. I think the staff are brilliant and very freindly, entertainment is good as well.

The rooms are very clean and have everything you need, also there is a great view of the sea and harbour.

The location is fab beacuse it is out the way of the commercial centre if you want a quiter night and only coppers to take a taxi ride down to the centre if you want some fun. There is also a supermarket over the road which is very handy.

The drink prices are a bit expensive but we get a free case of Bud every time we go so its not that bad!! The food prices are quite reasonably to and it nice.

Well, we have been to the aquasol on two occasions now, once with JMC and once with sunset holidays. We have stayed in a studio and a 1 bedroom apartment and have found both rooms to be clean and of good standard of furniture. We had food from the pool bar which was fine as well. The staff were lovely as well, but the entertainment was not up to much.

The only thing about the Aquasol is the location, it is situated at the top a cliff so it is about a 20 minute walk to the centre but the views on the way down are lovely. You can catch a taxi up for

On arrival at the Aquasol, we left our bags in the room and headed down to the "pool bar".

On ordering a glass of wine, it arrived, warm, in a glass which at best could only be described as minging. The cooking area was behind the bar and it looked as if it hadn't been cleaned for months. The glass was opaque with grease. Then we asked for a cider, which was provided with a glass, complete with lipstick marks all around it.

There was a pool of water outside the place which didn't dry up at all. To complete the holiday, every day at four o'clock was happy hour, announced by the Housemartins at mega volume. This was followed by a screeching female announcing the fact and asking all the people to join them for happy hour. It was like Butlins, all that was missing was the redcoats. Total rubbish.

The room was basic but clean. No plugs for the bath or the sink in the bathroom, the bath leaked. The beds were solid, the sheets clean but faded. The pillows smelt as if there had been one hundred different heads on them and hadn't been washed once. However, the girls who tidied the rooms seemed fine.

After the first night, we decided to avoid the "pool bar" at all costs.

Agree with previous comments regarding bar/entertainment and DJs. Standard of apartment very poor - electric socket hanging off wall (bare wires showing), no sink plugs, tissues pushed into air vent in bathroom to stop bugs coming in, standard of furniture very poor - broken balcony chair, inadequate lighting (at night) on external stairways leading to lower apartments - stairways also twist and turn.

Staff very unhelpful and not at all customer focussed.

In conclusion, would not recommend this apartment complex to anyone.

The apartments were clean and decorated/furnished to a reaonable standard. The views are spectacular. Aquasol is situated on one of (if not the most) highest points of Puerto Rico, so there is a very very steep hill to climb up and down when going into the local towm. Taxi are very easily come by and cost approx

Forget the other remarks, this hotel is worth going to apart from the long trek up hill. It's quite entertaining and the staff are very welcoming.

The pool is large and clean and the view is gorgeous. The dj's were a bit wild but good and the food in the bar was o.k.

If you dont fancy the trek the supermarket opposite was good as there was no need to walk miles.

Anyone going to Puerto Rico must try the restaurant at Europa Centre near Mc Donalds next to taxi rank.

We stayed at the Aquasol for 2 weeks during October 2001. The apartments on the whole were quite good. The complex is a little out of the way from the resort centre and is therefore probably not a good idea for anybody with a strong aversion to paying for taxis. Walking down the steep hill is always an option but getting back up it is quite painful.

The apartment complex is blessed with a relatively small and unattractive bar, serving expensive drinks and rotten food. The bar is staffed by a number of arrogant and bad mannered wasters all of whom would benefit from a series of workshops focusing on people skills and personal hygiene. Yes they stank!

Nightly entertainment was provided by the bar, and usually consisted of some form of diabolical cabaret act. Peace only came during occasional intervals. These short moments of tranquillity were eventually broken by a couple of disgracefully poor DJs who provided only annoyance and irritation.

Annoyance and irritation was also regularly provided by one of the bars regular customers. A dirty foul-mouthed, black toothed individual. It could not be determined whether the dirty beast slept somewhere near the bar and therefore returned each night or whether he was simply a wondering mental patient who relished annoying the masses.

In conclusion:

The apartments are OK. However the bar and its staff should be avoided at all cost.
