Stayed at guanabara park in December, the location was very bad,up a huge hill from beach could get steps but they were even more knackering in the heat and the was approx300 - I am a fit 16 year old to, however taxis were cheap and it was OK to down to the beach.

Apartments were claen, however did spot a cockroach but it is a hot country and that is to be expected, rooms were cold at night as temperature did drop but you cold ask for more blankets, staff were very helpful and gave googd advice on trips or days out.

DJ Russ was funny and so were the flaminco dancers, they wre that bad it was hilarious. Poll very nice but cold if you're fussy, sun loungers easy to grab however we did stay in low season.

Views were absolutely amazing especially the sunset at night.

Toilet and fridge spotless however poor lighting outside at night, and apartments secluded so was a little scary.

Lots of steps 70 to be exact. To get to our apartment not very funny with 20 and 30 kg suitcases!

Would definitely go again.

The hotel had lovely views and an excellent pool area. The only down side to these apartments was the location. It was OK walking down the hill (which was more like a mountain trek!!!) but an absolute nightmare walking back up especially in the midday heat.

There was a small centre about 10 Min's walk downhill and a supermarket on site which seemed to be closed quite alot. all in all it was an enjoyable holiday and the staff were very friendly.

Would recommend (although not for people with walking difficulties).

Rooms are tired looking and could do with a lick of paint but are cleaned to a high standard, beds made and fresh towels provided daily (except Sunday). They even did the washing up!

The hotel is at the top of a steep hill so may not be suitable for the disabled although taxis from the town are cheap and readily available.

Pool area cleaned by a team every morning.

Staff speak English and are very helpful in giving directions or help with travel to other resorts/attractions.

Entertainment fairly limited as we went at the very beginning of the season but fun was had by all nationalities.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it. We will certainly consider returning next year.

Just returned from a great week in Puerto Rico, two families.

The apartments are spotless, albeit a bit out of the way, 15 minute walk into town. Having said that I would recommend them as a taxi back is only about 3 Euros and being out of the way meant that it was very quiet in the evenings.

Didn't use the facilities at the apartments much although the pool area was very clean. Tended to go into town in the evening and the beach most days.

We only booked our holiday two days before we left and can honestly say we were very pleasantly surprised with the apartments. While they are basic they are kept very clean and tidy.

The Swimming pool is heated and there were plenty of sunbeds.

You do need to be pretty mobile or you need to use a taxi to get about the resort.

The apartments have a fantastic view. We had a balcony with a sea view which was superb.

The evening entertainment was excellent. Russ the entertainment manager was very good and very funny. He also included everybody. Word of warning don't wear white socks!! The Drink or nominate game is brilliant.

One down side to the apartments is that the reception
never seemed to have enough money to change your traveller cheques but that aside we would stay there again as we had a really great holiday.

We stayed in the Guanabara Park in September. The rooms were kept clean and the maids would come in everyday if you allowed them but sometimes I liked a lay in. We never found any cockroaches in our room although we saw them outside. If you leave the windows open you should expect them. I rented s
a fan and kept the windows shut. Renting a fan is a must. The rooms get really hot.

The hotel location is good and bad. The view is excellent and the all is quiet at night as it is right up the hill away from the loud parts. The downside is that it is a quite challenging walk to the bars and restaurants and back up is even worse. Taxi's are extremely cheap and plentiful however.

The hotel staff were ok but perhaps a little arrogent. The man who was cooking the food forget to wash his hands after using the toilet which can't be good. I would say that overall I was pleased with the Guanabara park apartment. One thing I will say is do not stay there if you are disabled.

The apartments were execptionally clean, the cleaners came in every day except Sundays. We had clean towels and linen on a regular basis. The only critisism we had was that they needed a little TLC - redecoration and some simple maintenence.

The bar and pool area was very clean. The food at the bar and in the restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. The hotel staff were more than happy to help with any problems or queries. The evening entertainment presented by Russ was one of the best we've had - included childrens and adult games (drink or nominate for the adults was excellent fun!) The bar staff added to the entertainment too.

Even though the apartments were at the top of the resort, we regulary went down to the resort centres in taxis and back again - costing only 3 - 4 euros each way. Being so high up also had it's advantages as we had a wonderful view of the resort and the harbour.

We would return to the Guanabara Appartments and would recommend them to anyone.

The appartments were very clean and spacious. We had a lovely balcony sea view which was pleasing. However we did have a few problems with neighbours and noise but when we told the security man he sorted everything out. The pool was nice with plenty of sunbeds.
