We'd stayed here a few years ago and had an ok holiday. Pretty basic accomm but clean. How things have changed! We arrived in the middle of the night after a long flight delay travelling with a young baby to find a travel cot which had seen better days, a ripped plastic covered mattress with it but no cot or bed sheets for it. Great putting a baby down to sleep on a plastic sheet in the heat! The bath had a big rusty hole in the bottom of it, not great for adults but certainly not for bathing a baby in! After being in the apt for a short time my son who was crawling on the floor was absolutely filthy dirty, the floors throughout the apt had neither been swept or mopped for our arrival. At the very least you expect a clean apt when you arrive! We complained and were eventually moved to another apt but the dirty floors were still a problem. We saw the maids cleaning other apts on our second day and they were using the same dirty bucket of water to clean one apt after the other! We refused the cleaner the first day and decided to clean the floors ourselves, the first time i've ever had to clean an apt having just arrived. The rest of the holiday we had to more or less hang around when the maids were in to make sure it was a clean bucket of water they used! On speaking to our rep it was a common complaint in the complex. We only really booked to go back here as our tour op advertised them as refurbished. What a joke! The only refurbishment was a new kitchen and individual safety dep boxes in each apt. Same old furniture, bathroom, beds etc. Sockets hanging out of the wall showing live wires, screws sticking quarter of an inch out of the headboards! Not great on the old health and safety front! They are however replacing the patio doors. Shame they did it while we were there, both apts either side of us were done in the middle of the day, circular saws, hammering, drilling and cutting of glass. A total nightmare noise and vibration wise as it woke our son up on two seperate days. Reception not interested, we just had to put up with it. Doors they're putting in don't seem all that much more secure than previous doors and while on the subject of security if you're sleeping in the main row of apts in the back bedroom open your window/shutters at your peril as you can basically climb out of the window straight onto the street. No great locks on the shutters. And if you have the mishap to be robbed and lose your safety dep key then the reception charges 30 euros just to swop the safe doors with another apt! You can hire fans however most have been retrieved from those purchased and left by customers, they then charge you 35 euros a week to hire one! You can buy one from the shopping centre from about 20 euros and it's yours to keep! 35 euros to keep your apt on till 8pm subject to avail, what a rip off! We got an apt along the road for the night for 20 euros! We couldn't wait to get out of the place! We'll definitely not be going back!

These apartments are ideally situated on the flat part of puerto rico only a short walk from the beach and the main commercial center. There is a small pool which is cleaned daily and plenty of space around it for everyone to get a lounger without having to get up early and put your towel down. Even though some still did.
The apartments are quite big, we stayed in the only one 1 bedroomed apartment. all the rest are 2 bedrooms, we didn't mind this though. There is a safety deposit box in the room for hire and you can hire a fan. We bought 2 as this was a cheeper option. The kitchen area is well equiped with all you need for snack type meals kettle, toaster, fridge 2 cooking rings and utencils. we preferred to eat out as this is cheap to do. The towels were changed every 2 to 3 days (not enough really) and sheets changed 4 times in 2 weeks. The staff are all very friendly. All in all a very enjoyable holiday.

We had a marvelous time at the Niza, rooms cleaned almost every day except Sunday, clean towels every other day and bedding was changed 4 times in the 2 weeks we stayed. There are only 28 apartments so it feels more like a small community. The only facilities are a pool, which was cleaned daily, safe deposit boxes in the rooms (payable) and that is about your lot, but don't let that put you off, you are 3 mins from the beach one way, and 3 mins to the Commercial centre the other way, and unlike the majority of apartments you are not up in the hills, you are down in the town.

The apartments themselves are very spacious, you have your own small terrace at the front with table chairs and a very welcome umbrella, you then enter to the longe, with seating, couch and 2 armchairs, a tv and sideboard, this eads to the kichen area with fridge freezer, (ours was a 60/40, but most of the other apts had a 50/50 fridge freezer) table with chairs, and sink and halogen hob (2 rings), kettle, toaster and microwave. We had all non stick frying pans (2) and 4 various sized pots and plenty of utensils. Leading off the kitchen area there was another large room, that had a clothes rack, for drying off costumes etc, our kids used to play bat and ball in there it was that big!!

Upstairs there were two bedrooms and a bathroom, plenty of wardrobe/draw space, but you have to keep the shutters closed in the back bedroom for security reasons, as these back out onto a road, and as usual at most places, not enough hangers!!

The Niza is well placed fo everything that Peurto Rico has to offer, and just far enough away from the Centre so as not to be bothered by the noise

The only thing missing was air conditioning, we bought a fan rather than hire one, and it was money well spent. Not one mosquito bite between four of us either so that was a huge bonus, all in all a great Holiday, and we will holiday there again.
