Never been to the Canaries before and just wanted a quick getaway. On arriving we were met by a lovely family run reception, they gave us or key and we went in search of our room.
We were given a room right by the pool with a terrace, but I was a little worried about the noise factor, so I asked if we could be moved, and he did no more and showed me a few apartments that were empty. We chose room 136, this was on the second floor but we had a lovely big terrace with table, chairs and sun loungers. With a good view of the pool this was great.
The apartment was very clean but basic. We hired a toaster and used a saucepan for a kettle.

First week Tom and Emmas from pool bar and Bar Arriba away but their staff very friendly, food readily available and generous portions. 2nd week made up for this as Tom and Emma make you more than welcome. Fantastic happy atmosphere here.
We as a family made loads of friends and are looking forward to returning and catching up with everyone. This was our honeymoon and we were treated to breakfast and champagne on our last day whilst our new found friends watched our children.
If you want a brilliant chilled out family holiday look no further. Entertainment for everyone.
Reception staff spoke very good English although due to late season not open 24hours, all hotel staff made you welcome and rooms were cleaned most days by friendly maids.
Hired a car for 3 days from Russ at Ferrais, a ust if you want to catch up with the English footie and best deal for internet.
Hotel close enough to beach and shops only draw back is Legends and Cactus Jacks trying to out do each other at night.
Will definitely be going back here to see Emma and Tom and their dog Lola.

Tom and Emma looked after us around the poolside which is freezing by the way.
The apartment is located within a five minute walk to the beach and some nice restaurants. The rooms were cleaned on most days (5 out of the 7 days).
On a nightly basis bingo, horse racing and a act of some description are laid on. Caution as to where your apartment is though, we stayed in 212 which backs onto a noisy karaoke bar called legends. Ideal for wannabe Robbie Williams but no good for trying to sleep ie: 3.00am.
We enjoy three holidays a year and would give the sol apartments a thumbs up.

Room was on the 3rd floor where we had to encounter a number of stairs but it was manageable. Being on the 3rd floor meant we had a massive terraced area - and the sun was on the terrace from the morning till night - so it's great if you just want to sit outside and chill and tan.
Entertainment was ok - Happy Hour followed by Bingo and a Quiz. they do have theme nights. The Robbie Williams Tribute was well worth it - Stuart McQ was excellent - a must for the Ladies. There was also a magician show followed by a Parrot Show.
The BBQ is well worth having on the Tuesday Night and it was only 10 Euros each for a good selection of food.
The apartments are very basic and if you want a kettle and a toaster and spare room key etc etc you have to hire them. the TV's are also on a meter but we fired in about 3 or 4 Euros and that lasted a couple of days

I have never been on a holiday where i have been so bored in all my life. I can't imagine it being much better in the summer as there is absolutely nothing there and definitely would not recommend it for children.

Well, I have to say it was brilliant; the apartment was very clean and had every thing we required for our stay. Yes you do have to hire toasters and kettles but this is only a deposit, which you get back when you leave.
The only problem was the noise from Cactus Jacks until 3.30am every night, but this was due to where our room was.
Our apartment was on the third floor, which means that we have a lovely long balcony, which over looked the pool and got the sun all day!
The reception staff were very helpful and always available to assist should you need it. There is a television in the room, which cost 1 euro for 30mins, but there aren

Vic at the poolside bar was very good in giving the kids what they like and also let us run a tab every day saves leaving money around the pool.
Maid service good, rooms simple but clean you get what you pay for and we don't go on holiday to cook anyway!
Restaurants offer something for everyone.
Fantastic resort for family's and nearby entertainment enjoyed by all. Bows and Belles a must see at Cactus Jacks

I have just came back from a 2 week holiday at the sol apartments and not muched has changed since my last 1 week stay.
BTW we had our exact same room as last time, 113. Although we did request it beforehand. Me and my girlfriend consider this to be the best room in the appartment block as its ground floor, balcony looks right onto the pool and is about 15-20ft from the pool, so no having to go a big walk if suntanning around the pool and you want to get something from inside. Although like last time the shower still ran cold after a few minutes and also a sewage smell would now and again stink the bathroom out. We sourced the smell to be comming from the plugholes so we just kept the plugs in most of the time.
The tv which is coin operated has now gone up in price. Back in the day it was 1 euro an hour or 3 euros for 24hrs (24hrs counted down to 3hrs regardless of watching the tv or not) Now its a fixed price of 1 euro an hour so we did spend quite alot of euros on the tv this time around.
The people that run the poolside bar have changed from last time but the grub still seems to be up to a good standard so no faults with that.
The music the poolside bar plays is still the same cds that were played back on my last stay which was quite funny. As we became to relize these discs dont ever get changed at all. Throughout the 14 days when we did stay pool side we would hear the same stuff over and over again. I must have listened to that damn Enrique Englasias album 10+ times over.
On the sol premisis there is a diving centre and if you are suntanning around the pool on thursday/friday one of the blokes that runs the place will go around asking everyone if they want a free diving lesson in the pool. I myself never tried it but i did watch some 7 year old kid try and all it consisted of was approx 2 mins underwater swimming one lap of the pool. Then the guy was doing the usuall ask your parents to take you diving so i can make a killing of all of you.
There is also now an upstairs bar that is only open at night. This was closed during my 1st weeks stay there but was open every night on my second week. Although we never did venture into it we did see one or two people using it.
Dont go to Aquapark (the waterpark) its 21 euros an adult and about 16-17 euros a child. You have to pay extra for lockers, sunbeds and just about everything else too. The brochures / panphlets you will find make the place look massive. Infact its REALLY small. When me and my girlfriend went the main 3 big rides where shut for maintenence so that was about 1/4 park closed off. The remainder rides got boring very quick and had no thrill factor at all. We left after about 90 mins. Great value for money. NOT!!
Never seen one cockroach at all this time :)
Sol is a great base for staying in if you intend on eating/drinking out every night and is very close to shops, pubs, resteraunts and most importantly the beach is only a 5 min walk away. Like last time everyone we talked to said they would definatly come back here (like we did) and some mentioned that they where going to book another stay here as soon as they got home.
End of the day you cant go wrong with sol apps. You will not be dissapointed!!

Paul and Jayne were a lovely couple who run the pool bar and the upstairs night bar and Kate was nice that worked for them. Reception very friendly.
Rooms and pool area kept very clean although beds aren't changed once during the week. Not alot of entertainment when we went there but Paul and Jayne are planning a few activities to liven things up.
