As this was an extra holiday, we had to go on a budget basis and purposely booked the Sol through Sunset, for this reason, so we were not expecting luxury accommodation etc. Certainly the Sol Apartments lived up to their budget rating, and for the price that we paid, we could not really have expected better.
The rooms are spacious enough, but bleak, with only the bare necessities. The rooms, as well as the complex were always clean and well kept and the only real cause for complaint was the uncomfortable beds, resulting in several sleepless nights.
We had previously always gone DIY, but on this occasion we could not find any better deal, so went open minded. We would not use these apartments again, and would have preferred to spend a little bit more for just a little extra comfort. But as most people have echoed, if you are going on a very tight budget, with no real expectations, this could be the place for you.
We actually paid not that much more DIY, in November 04 stopping in the Las Coronas apartments, and honestly there was no comparison. Lesson learnt, we will stick with DIY in the future.

The pool was very cold but ok once you were in, plenty of sunbeds to go around.
Reception staff were very helpful and tried there best to sort out a few problems we had.
The only down side to this apartment block was the pool bar the staff was very rude and not helpful at all.
We had great hopes of this as the comments that have been placed on this site but alas the people they have written about no longer work there, so we tried a few times but in the end we ate and drunk out else where.
On another note please dont eat at the swan inn as they seem to be as rude. We would go back to the appartments again as we did like the place.

While staying at sol our toilet leaked dirty water everywhere in the bathroom (our fault as you arent meant to flush paper - we did) and the electrics blew out (girlfriend was drunk and was messing around with the stove)
These problems where fixed by the staff ASAP.
Unfortunatly for cooking there is only like a hotplate/stove for heating pans up. These where completely useless and not worth wasting your time with. It would great if they had a cooker as we spent a bomb eating out every night.
Only had one cockroach in our apartment the whole time and quickly seen the underside of my footwear.
Pool was freezing but once you where in you soon warm up to it.
Had breakfast a couple of times from the pool bar. Out of everywhere we ate for breakfast I think they did the best grub. On another note there vodkas tasted awfull.
Sol has NO entertainment but is very close to pubs/resteraunts so no real problems on that front.
Did notice sol had one pc for internet access but can't remember how much it cost to use for a limited time.
There is the odd stray cat that wanders around the apartments but they dont cause any problems.
Probably going back there for 2 week hol very soon :)

The complex also has a pool side bar which serves drinks and nice food. The bar is managed by a great couple called Mick and Anita who

Apartments were kept clean, take your own kettle if possible as none in room. Pool bar is excellent well run
nothing to much trouble and fair prices. Apartments are not ideal if you wish to cook yourself as only 2 rings
on cooker.
Location is ok not far from several bars and only 10 mins walk from beach and more bars and eateries. Ideal for one weeks break.

Anita and Mick look after you at the pool bar really well, lovely couple cant do enough for you.
Nice little bar to visit over the road is the farrari bar, run by brian- top bloke, 1 euro a pint!
sol very nice, take your own kettle tho, you'l need one.. otherwise you have to pay for hire.
Make use of the netto supermarkets, cheaper than the corner stores.
All in all ad a brill time!

Quite a good location in terms of the beach, but absolutely no shade around the pool and our apartment sat virtually on top of Legends night club. We didn't need to go, we could sit and listen to it in our apartment (and Cactus Jack's over the road) usually until 2a.m. So, it was either close all the windows and be hot (or hire a fan from reception) or be entertained until the early hours.
