We loved the Paradise Island resort.
Hotel/Accomodation was excellent, cleaned every day, including bed linen and towels.
Staff were brilliant, especially the entertainment staff who managed to get everyone involved, babies to grandads.
We met some fantastic people there.
Pool was great, never overcrowded, plenty of sun loungers and parasols (at no extra charge)
If you take notice of the negative reviews you'll be making a big mistake. If you want 5 star, pay for it. This was great value for money and would most definitely go again.

We stayed at Paradise Island on all inclusive basis and we enjoyed it very much apart from a few minor problems when we first got there.
The first few days they were having a heat wave temps in 40s and we were given a room with no air conditioning. We did not sleep due to the room being right next to the hotel dustbins and we enjoyed the sound of breaking glass bottles until about 4 in the morning. We had no choice but to sleep with all windows open as the hotel had also run out of fans, so we woke up the next morning completely frazzled and covered in mozzie bites. To be honest if the rep had offered to fly us home that day I would have taken her up on it.
We complained straight away about the room as we could not tolerate that for the next 2 weeks and were told that we could change rooms in 4 days so we put up with it until then. When we moved we got a room with a sea view and air conditioning (heaven), it seems unfair that some rooms have it and some don't. Anyway things started to look up from then.
The next thing was the pool, it was very cloudy with grease floating on top so I would not let my daughter go in it and it was only when enough people complained and the pool was cleaned that we realized just how dirty it had been.
The food was lovely but it got to the point that the weather was so hot that we did not really want to eat a hot meal through the day so we gave it a miss a lunchtime but it was lovely because the pool area emptied at lunchtime and we had about 2 hours where there was barely anyone around the pool, peaceful!
The food was varied and catered not just for English but the many Spaniards who were holidaying there (rabbit, ox tongue etc) which did not go down well with my daughter. There were plenty of drinks with the meals and you just helped yourself to those which were excellent.
The entertainment was average, much of it in Spanish and the entertainment room was indoors and so cramped (nowhere near big enough for the number of guests) that the heat in there was unbearable so we gave that a miss.
Queuing for drinks became a bit of a chore, sometimes it would be 30 minutes to get a glass of fizzy wine, we asked for a bottle to share between 6 of us and they would not do that but they would open a bottle and give us it by the glass (and the glasses were tiny) which meant another 30 minute queue for another one. In the end we put our foot down and asked for half pint glasses full of the stuff which at least meant we didn

Could'nt fault the hotel for cleanliness and the food variety was very good. Quite geared towards the continentals. Children's entertainment not good the week we were there due to kids rep shortage and the evening entertainment was poor. Too far to walk to resort centre on a reg. basis, but there is a shuttle bus. Hire bikes - very good for cycling along the coastal promenades.

Lovely complex, beautiful large rooms with two balconies. Two clean pools but not very warm although one was supposed to be heated. The food was good, plenty of choice but sometimes lukewarm. Lunch and breakfast were the best.
Hotel is situated outside Playa Blanca but there is a shuttle bus from the hotel three times a day.
We found the hotel staff very helpful.
Entertainment was not up to much although a few of the shows were watchable.

We went to Paradise Island in 2002 and enjoyed it so much we decided to go back in 2003 where once again we had a smashing holiday. The only thing i have a big grouse about is the lack of air condition in the Dining Room. I have scored low for the entertainment because we were never able to get a seat as the people with children were first off the blocks so we never stood a chance. As for the Piano Bar that is advertised, we have never laid eyes on a musical instument. However as we met a couple in 2002 and we joined up with them again in 2003 we were happy to sit on the terrace each evening. Some friends also decided to come with us as we had had such a good time they fancied the same. They really enjoyed it also. We have booked again this year but have been advised the company has changed so we are hoping the standards do not drop.

Stayed here last year, the complex looked quite impressive on arrival but we were a little annoyed that the apartment had not been cleaned out - it looked as if the last guests had just left leaving sand, dirty sheets, towels and unwanted belongings behind. Unfortunately it took about three hours and about five requests at reception before the room got cleaned. A little annoying when you're waiting to unpack. Otherwise, the staff were quite helpful for the rest of the stay.
The food was quite good and varied, although the wine supplied with the meal on all inclusive was well watered down and tasteless.
Not much of a selection of drinks included in the all inclusive deal so I often ended up paying for proper drinks.
Junior like the pool, but it got a little crowded and sun loungers were often hard to get hold of.
The entertainment was pretty mediocre but the kid's club staff were enthusiastic and gave the kids a great time.
Not much in the area around the hotel to go to (and pretty windy and exposed outside the complex,) but there was a regular shuttle bus into Playa Blanca Village.
We didn't enjoy this holiday all that much but perhaps Lanzarote wasn't for us in the end.
