Just back from a week in the costa volcan apartments. The apartments are very basic but absolutely spotless with cleaners in every day. There is no air conditioning but you can rent a fan from the 24 hr reception. You can actually rent anything from an iron to a playstation 2. The pool bar does a lovely breakfast. It's run by Phil, Jan, Linda and Christopher who are all lovely people and great for a chat. There is a spa in the apartments and i do recommend a massage. Also there is another pub attached to the apartments by way of the third floor. Clanceys bar & resteraunt which is run by Dave and Ciaran who are both great craic. It's 100% Irish owned and the food is gorgeous, especially the Stew. Also if you've ever wanted to go scuba diving on a Monday in the apartments you have the guys from Manta diving in and they will give you a chance to try it out in the pool before booking it. It's well worth the try.

The hotel was basic,the beds extremely uncomfortable,the pool was absolutely filthy,the water was actually green,the area around the hotel was filthy,and littered,the pool bar was a rip off ,and the staff grumpy and rude.there wasn't any entertainment in the hotel,you coulden't even get a proper spanish coffee,I would advise you to go elsewhere with your hard earned money,It was the dirtiest place I have ever been,DONT GO THERE !!!!.

We had 2 mishaps trying to get away on honeymoon. We ended up just going to the airport and getting on a plane to Lanzarote!
My husband and myself had no idea where we were staying but were pleasantly surprised on arrival. The room was basic but very clean. Room was cleaned every other day and its easy to trust the cleaners with your belongings.
Pool area/Pool was cleaned every morning just before the pool opens.
Perfect location for seeing the new town and the old town. Would visit the hotel again.
Tips for potential guests-you have to rent a kettle but the room comes with a coffee maker. Put tea bags in glass jug and add water as normal. The water boils and perculates into the glass jug as just hot water. voila tea with out the need to rent.
No windows in rooms but fret not it makes the room confortable for siesta's and sleeping at night without dying with the heat.

We stayed at this resort for a week, Think twice before going : No1: if you have children there is absolutly nothing for them to do all day however , to the left of the hotel there are steps and if you go up there you can go bungee jumpong !!!

I have just arrived back from Lanzarote having stayed in the Costa Volcan Apts. In Puerto Del Carmen. To say where we stayed was an unpleasant experience would be putting it mildly. It was the worst equipped apartment I have ever encountered this is why.
No electric kettle. (non electric would do)
No tea pot.
No juicer. (non electric would do)
No iron.
No micro wave oven.
We had to boil the water in a saucepan to make a cup of tea.
These are essentials in a self catering apartment
I enquired from reception only to be told that

We have stayed in the Costa Volcan on numerous occasions.
Twice over the winter period we tried to book through different agents and was told each time the hotel was full.
On arrival in the resort we went to visit the family that run the pool bar only to be told the hotel was nowhere near full.
If you have trouble booking into the hotel I recommend that you phone the hotel direct on 0034928511225.

I stayed in the Costa Volcan for a week at the start of the year with my mum and sister.
We found the apartment very clean on arrival and was cleaned every other day as well as getting fresh towels.
The pool was very clean and cleaned every morning.
I would recommend to anyone one staying to ask for room on pool side of hotel which is where we were but the other side of hotel is on busy street.
Location of hotel is excellent, steps to old town next to hotel where we stayed most nights, had dinner and drinks out, some lovely bars and restaurants there. The hotel is less then ten minutes to new town.
I can't comment on entertainment in hotel as went out every night but if I did go back to Lanzarote would stay in Costa Volcan apts again and recommend it to anyone.

We enjoyed our stay here, would recommend this complex to couples and groups. Definately request 2nd floor with pool view as we did!!
Staff very friendly, but the cleaners do appear very early in the morning so dont expect a lie in...
Pool side bar is great, definately try phils pizza...
All drinks and food reasonably priced.
The complex is in a great location in the old town with the harbour and fab restaurants and beside a taxi rank if you dont fancy the 10 min stroll to the new town(will only cost about 2euro in a taxi).

The hotel was lovely and had a great atmosphere. Cleaned on a regular basis and plenty of clean towels. Shopping area just behind the apartments. Bars and restaurants in a minute walking distants. Restuarant in the place was lovely too. Pool table, air hockey table, books in the restaurant/bar. Spa in the hotel. 2 mins from the beach. Lovely pool and was cleaned every day. Basic but if you want to be near it all with out being in the expensive part this is the place.
