We enjoyed our holiday here. The children loved the pool and the mini club. My only critism was the fact that it was very slippery walking around the pool. There are a lot of sunbeds although people do reserve them with 'towels' very early especially the ones with an umbrella. We never put towels out and always managed to get a bed. Our room was very nice with a sea view, which was a bonus as we never paid the extra for that. The sofa bed the children slept on was not the most comfortable but adequate. The room was very clean. The food was very good but after a week was did feel it was repetitive. Men need to wear long trousers to dine, they refused three quarter length so remember to take trousers. You also have to pay for drinks even water in the restaurant. The entertainment in the hotel was o.k. with a few good shows. Obviously, the drinks are expensive in the hotel compared with bars in the resort. Overall we would recommend this hotel, and the resort of Costa Adeje.

We, me and my husband stayed at this hotel one week in April 2004, we really like it very much. The room was clean and nice but it wasn't soundproof, so you heard your neighbours very well! We also decided to rent a saftey box, we payed 14 Euros for one week.If you had decided to stay at this hotel ask for a room at the higher floors, 5-9, we had our room at the 2 floor and yes, we had a really nice oceanview and the beachpromenade was just under us, but if you want a more quiter room ask for the higher floors! The poolarea was very nice, lovley palmtrees and the sunbeds was also great, even that you have to go up early and "reserve" one. When we arrived we get two pooltowels but if you wanted to have a new one you had to pay 1.20 Euro per towel!I was lucky that we brought some towels with us! The hotel is lying at the Fa

The hotel is dated and is showing signs that it is need of a good refurbishment, we stayed on the highest floor (4th) which was directly underneath the pool area. We were woken each morning by the early birds re arranging the sunbeds. The noise of beds scraping against the ceiling is like a drill..
Tip.. if your going go on third or second floor.
We paid extra for ocean view which was very good, and we had a superb view of the promenade too.
This is the fourth time we have been to Tenerife on each visit we have styed in a 4 star hotel, in our opinion this was by far the worst. The food in the restaurant was not as varied as we have seen before or as tasty.
If you are taking young children be aware that the pool is not heated, and in April this can be translated too " it is bloody freezing".
The pool is situated on the roof of the hotel, you are not sheltered and it can get quite breezy. Situated around the pool are roof lights which allow light to get to the fourth floor corridor, I didn't test them, but they look to made of glass, some are cracked and they do not look safe....
Tip.. If you gong keep your kids away from them
The drinks are expensive, but the staff are the most polite we have come across.
If you are used to 4 star and you expect good facilities, my advice is dont go to this hotel.
If you leave the hotel and turn towards Costa Adeje the resort gets better and better, the hotels that you pass are newly built and look far better than this one. It is hard to uunderstand that some of these also fall into the 4 star category.

The Guayarmina certainly earns its 4 star rating. As in the report above, we had a low room overlooking the sea and promenade but experienced no noise at all even though we were though for the last two weeks of July. I suppose it could be noisy during the day but who stays in their room during the day? The food was good but got rather boring towards to end of the second week. There is a carvery where chefs dish out meats and fish - this is very good but sometimes you have to queue. The hotel was exceptionally clean, tables cleared before you had chance to leave it!! The room was kept very clean and tidied every day - my teenage daughters made quite a mess!! The location was great being far enough away for PDLA but not too far if you fancied a walk in the evening. Entertainment in the hotel is geared to the young - ie. below 12. We spent very little time in the hotel for this reason but also because the drinks were too expensive. I don't mind paying over the odds while on holiday but I object to being ripped off. Went on the catamaran trip which was excellent - expensive but I believe worth every penny. Excellent holiday overall would definitely return.
