After getting myself into a complete panic about the reviews I read regarding Castle Harbour, I'm glad to say that on arriving at the Apartments I needn't have worried at all.

The staff on reception were very friendly, the location was quiet although they were finishing buliding a new appartment block next door, we did get a little noise but nothing unbearable.

The apartment its self was very clean and we had plenty of room with 2 bedrooms one en suite and a seperate shower room, the sheets and towels were also changed once a week, and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in.

We had an iron and ironing board as well.

The walk to los Cristianos was a good 15 min walk down hill not steep though as some reports have said, and coming home, if you dont want to walk (we did with a pushchair so its not that steep) the taxi rank is at the bottom of the hill and only 3 euros.

The pool side bar was the best we have seen and they showed daily sports and news events.

As for the pool it was beautiful and very very clean, you can hire sunbeds at 2 euros each but its a small price to pay, there is also a life guard on duty every day.

Entertainment for children was quite good they had various swimming competions, pool comps, colouring and even had a kids party each thurs costing 5 euros, which my daughter went to twice.

And finally there are over 50 apartments lived in by English people so if its good enough to live in its def good enough for a holiday, all in all we had a fantastic time at Castle Harbour and would go again.

Castle Harbour, I have to say I was very pleased. The location was just fine, not to far from the town and beach.

The apartment was wonderful, clean and well presented. We stayed in a ground floor apartment which was very good, as we could walk straight to the pool and bar area without out the hassle of carting swimming gear and other things up and down the stairs. Although that wouldn't of been a problem.

We will definitely be booking with Castle Harbour again.

The majority of staff were very helpful, apart from the late night security guard who couldn't speak English, was not too much of a problem though.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be staying again.

After reading some of the reviews I was a bit worried what we had let ourselves in for, but apart from needing to be a mountaineer to get around the area, we couldnt find fault with any other aspect of our 2 week stay.

The staff couldnt have been more helpful everything was clean.

Our room was big enough having two bathrooms, but we never had our towels changed at all during our week long stay. We paid the extra for a pool view, but on the balcony the wall was too high to see over whilst sat down so you could not relax and take in the views.

The kitchen basic rings and oven taking to long so we had all meals out.

There are signs of possible room break-ins because a lot of the apartments had metal ornate doors locked then the door to the apartment locked before you got into your room. However we had no trouble at all during our stay paid extra for the safety deposit box in the room though.

Pool excellent bar snacks at the pool bar excellent, staff had little or nothing to say. Pool sun lounges for four and one of those sun shade brollies 10 euros a day over seven days a lot of money.

The apartments a long way out from centre of the resort at the top of a hill I did not mind but the missus complained for both of us. It takes a good twenty minutes to get down to the resort centre

Hi, first time stayed at this location, booked a self catering studio apartment. Room was clean, kitchen and bathroom also. Nice balcony, plenty of room to sit out.

Found the complex handy for using as a base, pool very nice, the snacks at the pool bar are of a good standard, staff pleasant if you take the time to chat to them, found the reception staff very helpful, will use the place again. Booked the apt thru' castleharbour.com.

We stayed at Castle Harbour for 7 nights and on the 3rd night of our stay our room was broken into.

This and the fact that it is at the top of a steep hill, very far from the centre would stop me from visiting Castle Harbour again.

Although taxis were only about 3 Euros each, it soon mounts up. On the plus side the rooms were very clean and when the appartment was broken into we were moved straight away. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

My parents actually own an apartment in the block, it's a one bedroom and sleeps 4! The hill walking up to the apartment isn't that steep at all I have been going up and down that hill for 7-8 years now and I don't complain (I'm 23 now)! The only time I would find it difficult is around midday when it is scorching, I am 18 weeks pregnant now and will be 24 weeks pregnant when I next go and don't think I will find it a problem! I understand that elderly people may find it a problem but as other people have said the taxis are very cheap and are everywhere!

As for entertainment Castle Harbour has never promoted to have entertainment on at the complex to my knowledge, but across the road the hotel offers entertainment and out the back there's a friendly pub with nightly entertainment so it's a stone throw away if you want it! If you do want the clubs and pubs that are open all hours it's a taxi ride into Las Americas which isn't that far away and I have managed that for years now!

It's approx 15 mins walk into town which is nothing and the beach there is lovely with beds and umbrellas to hire! There's also a lot of restaurants near to the complex and down in town for a variety of choice and they are all good value.

The pool area is very clean and has a life guard there everyday who also sorts out the sunbeds around the pool. The pool bar snacks and drinks are very reasonably priced and are very nice! It's not just pizzas and chips although they are on the menu but the toasted sandwiches and salads are nice also! The restaurant on site is also very nice and has sister restaurants in the area one is a Mexican (Rosie's) which we frequent alot as it is very nice and a reasonable price. It is also located in an apartment block around the corner.

There is a money exchange to the rear of the complex with internet facilities and excursion booking available also, along with a Chinese restaurant, an Italian restaurant, a supermarket and a fun pub that you cannot hear from the complex even though it is so close!

Hope this gives a better overview of the complex and helps you with your decision!

The hotel is situated close by to Los Cristianos town centre but on a very steep hill and is not suitble for disabled or families with small children in buggies. When we first entered our room I could not believe how unclean it was and our first job was to clean the apartment. Presently opposite a building site, if you get a room on the road side rather than the pool side the noise is terrible. Unfortunatley situated on a main road, we hardly got any sleep. The staff were very friendly and helped us with everything which we needed. No entertainment. The pool was very nice, as well as the pool bar but I am very reluctant to pay 2 euro every day per sun bed and umbrella. Can prove expensive when in a group with children. And hope to be on a lower floor as the three hotel lifts are horrendous.

Hmm, not a great report im afraid. Booked a cheapo last minute deal with Viva Holidays (allocation on arrival) and were despatched to this place. In terms of cleanliness the accomodation was average, nothing special. We were self catering and didnt try any pool-side bar grub although to be honest it didnt look too tasty anyway (typical burger, pizza, chips, hot-dogs etc). As for location, I was with my girlfriend and we are both in our early 20's, so that fact tha the hotel is set on a very steep hill didnt bother us too much, but if you have kids in buggies or prams and/or disabled persons in wheelchairs/walking sticks it could prove difficult to negotiate. In fact I would recommend NOT going to this accomodation. Entertainment? When we were there the complex offered no entertainment whatsoever. On the whole i wouldnt go back through choice.

we found the apartments to be clean and comfortable with a lot of facilities for my child. i was a little concerned about the things to do there for children with my son being 12 years old, but it was fine. we weren't too far from the beach and only a stroll from the shops so it was nice to go out for a walk from the complex on occasions.
the rooms were very clean and the maids friendly.
the staff and entertainment were good but we did go out quite often, as we stayed for 2 weeks.
would definately reccommend to anyone with children wanting a family holiday with good faciltiies
