Location
Twin beds with spare pillows in the cupboard. We bought a fan, which was small enough to take back to the UK. In May, it was 25-30 degrees, but the nights were too warm without ventilation!
The location is its best feature. Right on the coast, overlooking the marina, with the black sand beach 100 yards away.
We hired a har, and used the apartment as a base - parking was not an issue for the whole week. We were able to shower and store luggage after checking out.

It was our first family holiday abroad and were quite nervous, but we found that there was a mixture of English and Spanish people at the resort, which was reassuring for us as we don't speak Spanish.
We stayed in a two bedroomed apartment, room 118, lovely and spacious. The apartments are cleaned to a very high standard, with cleaning ladies coming in every other day who swept, mopped, made beds, left fresh towels and bedding. They were friendly and polite. We did have the occasional cockroach which is to be expected in warmer climates.
Our apartment was on the second floor looking over the courtyard; from the balcony we had an amazing view of the cliffs. As we only used the apartment as a base it served its purpose well.
There is a room near reception where there are 2 computers with internet access, a euro for 15 mins, a TV, with one English speaking channel, 2 pool tables, a euro a go and a vending machine. There is also a small play area with 2 swings, a see-saw and a slide handy for little ones situated at the back of the apartments.
There are plenty of shops nearby for all your needs. But do venture into Santiago or Playa if you plan on buying lots of food in for the length of your stay as you will save so much (do you

The location is brilliant the views are spectacular!
The hotel is always clean and the pool is beautiful especially the unique sea water pool with giant turtles and fish in there! There is also a rooftop pool but I actually didn't visit this!
It is located opposite the harbour with shops and restaurants nearby! Views of Los Gigantes Cliffs are amazing on a good day you can see dolphins! Added bonus if you go with Thompson is you are able to use Los Gigantes hotel entertainment which is brilliant! beautiful 5*hotel!
Excellent definitely go back again

The apartment (number 132) was 1 bedroom which had a double bed, very comfy but the pillows were thin so you might want to ask for more if you're used to anything other than a horizontal head at night. The lounge area had 2 pull-down beds which the boys thought was cool, but the beds rattled a bit if they fidgeted. There was also a sofa bed, but this was a bit ratty so we used the pull-downs.
The apartment itself was clean and tidy, with a large fridge and small freezer (essential in August, 33 degrees C), 4 electric rings which I have to say we never used and a breakfast bar. There was a small balcony which overlooked the marina which was lovely, the sea beyond the breakwater and the cliffs as a backdrop.
On the negative side there was no air conditioning which would have been nice, though you can pay for a fan which I would recommend at that time of year. The bedroom was at the front of the apartment and we kept the double windows open all night and the curtains drawn which helped. This window opened onto the courtyard for the apartment block (ground floor). No problems with noise or other issues here.
Another thing was inside the apartment could use a lick of paint. It wasn't a showstopper but for example on the balcony was a small metal table and four chairs. The laminate was badly peeling from some areas on the table and it was rusty underneath. The window latch wasn't very secure so if you're worried about security of valuables use the safe's which are available from reception. Having said that I don't think security is a particular worry here.
The maid service was 3-4 times a week, and she made the beds and emptied the bins and changed the towels, usual stuff. The shower was great, the best we've experienced in a resort - powerful and hot (if you wanted hot, most of the time we had it running cool). There was also a bidet for washing your feet (yeah, I know). Again the maintenance issue was apparent in the bathroom, there was a chandelier-type light fitting in there (why?) and one of the 3 arms on it was loose. No big deal but why couldn't it be sorted?
All in all if you're self catering it's only a base. You're unlikely to do this then cook 3 meals a day, you might as well stay at home. For what we needed, it was clean, spacious and had a great view. Nuff said.

The only complaint we had of the pobaldo marinero was that the walls are paper thin. any movement from upstairs sounds clear as a bell in the appartment. However, the presence of the police (who told us off a few times for noise - we are four 18 year old girls after all!) meant that there was rarely a huge amount of noise at night to keep you awake
