First of all, this is proper 5* hotel and I mean 5*. From the reception to the spa, it is out of this world. The suite we had was spacious, very modern and a bathroom that you would expect in a top Las Vegas hotel.
The breakfast was plentiful and top quality and served by very efficient and attentive waiters.
The pool was equally good with a smaller childrens pool off at one end where the kids could make plenty of noise etc without annoying the other guests. At the time we stayed there was only 1 other family whom coincidentally were from Southampton. Although this is not a hotel aimed at kids they were accommodated and did not feel left out.
The spa really is sumptuous with a main pool outdoors and another pool indoors with a jacuzzi off and all around the pool is sections off to steam rooms, aromatherapy rooms etc - this area is out of bounds to kids but free to residents.
The area of Puerto is fine and the hotel is situated about 15 minutes walk from the sea front (although down hill so may not be suitable for infirm) but a taxi ride was only a few euros. At the front there were numerous bars and restaurants but to be honest it was a shame to leave the hotel although there were numerous bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk of the hotel (the restaurant itself has it's own top class restaurants (5 in total I think))
All in all, this is not a kids hotel by any means and I hope to return in a few years when the kids have grown up to really appreciate this quality hotel.
