We stayed in Puerto Santiago. On approaching the resort there are a lot of tower cranes and I feared the worst, but by the time we got to the hotel there wasn,t one to been seen and every thing was peaceful.
If you want a quiet break this would be ideal.
The resort was quiet nothing much to do apart from the usual bars and restaurants.
The beach was black sand and not very inviting but we are not beach people anyway.
The resort was clean enough and pretty.
I don't know if we would visit Puerto Santiago again liked the look of Los Gigantes.

Small quiet and undeveloped, ideal if you are looking for a relaxing time without the 'Blackpool'abroad look. Very hilly though so not ideal for those with mobility problems.

the surrounding areas were very clean and the few shops/bars were of a good standard. if you want a very friendly yet small english bar to vist try the outside in bar on the court yard the staff there were excellent-quigly is as mad as a hatter laughed all the time. not a beach person but the views were stunning.

the resort cleansiness is average and quite a few empty buildings surronding the hotel. not a great selection of restaurants or shops. beach clean and family friendly. not much in the resort for young teenagers or children. quite a hilly area not suitable for people with walking difficulties.

The resort is small with a number of small bars but for us that is the kind of holiday we like. Its only a 15 minute walk to Los Gigantes which has more going on. There is no beach at Porto Santiago but there is a nice one at Los Gigantes

Resort is quite but enough shops to browse around for a weeks stay.

Not much going on at Playa de la Arena resort which is how we like it. No discos or noisy bars but along with neighbouring Peurto Santiago plenty of places to eat. A resort more suited to the older generation rather than "ravers"!!

Did'nt really bother with outside the hotel.
Only went to supermarket but my other half watched footie in the bar.

Actual town very clean, why can't we do this in the UK? !
Resort entertainement there is a few places, mentioned already, or easily pop over the bay to Los Gigantes where more is happening.
Never used any beaches at all, but all looked clean & had awards.

Very quiet resort, not much to do or see in the evening, los gigantis is a 10 mins walk away, with more night life.
If your looking for a holiday to get away from it all and just relax this could be for you.
