There isnt much of a resort here. You can walk into Los Gigantes, which is quite pleasant. However for the first time ever, we were more than happy to stay in the Hotel for the whole week as it was so good. The children didnt want to leave.

There's not really much in Puerto Santiago, just a few bars across the road from the hotel, a fifteen minute walk either way will take you to Los Gigantes for Playa Arena, which has much more in the way of nightlife.

The beach at Playa Amadores wasn't bad but you need plastic sandals to get in the sea because of the rocks. We only went down to the beach once and you can tell its man-made because its hard under foot you dont sink in it like you would on a normal beach. We can not comment on the entertainment because we stayed in the hotel every night.

Puerto Del Santiago, Tenerife.
Relatively quiet resort compared to further south although quite a lot of new apartments are being built here and in neighbouring Los Gigantes which may spoil a bit -we'll have to see. Several good restaurants of many nationalities and a few bars (for the british who like British pubs). Very clean and friendly. Not as easy to change travel money as in the south. Some products more expensive but not all. Blue Flag Beach, Playa del Arena and the village beach with Los Gigantes beach a short drive away. Definitely go again to this area although not for those who like nightclubs and karaoke. Sunny climate.

The only problem with the beaches was the sand it was black it became very hot mid-day so i would recomgmend going earlier in the day. I couldnt complain about any of the hotel or resort it was a wonderful holiday.

It is a very nice resort - unless you are expecting a really hectic nightlife, in which case, go elsewhere. There a lot of nice shops, restaurants and bars in the resort and most of them are pretty reasonable. Some of the bars do good cabaret acts, quizzes etc which are actually a lot better than what the hotels offer. Also, in the bars, on the whole the drink is cheaper than the hotels so you get a much better night out. We have been to this resort 3 times now and have just booked to go back in June 2005. It is ideal for couples wanting a quieter holiday and also families with young children - entertainment seems a bit limited for teenagers

The resort as a whole was fairly tidy with a few shops. The beach was very nice and good for the children. The sea quality was also very nice. A stroll over a night time to los gigantes is a must do.
no beach in this area, just overlooking Los Gigantes , which is very spectacular, lovely coastal walks from Santigo into Los Gigantes, not much to do in the evenings, a few restaurants outside the hotel which weren't to a high standard, a couple of bars, but a very good mini market opposite.
