We loved these apartments the rooms were great although i think a bit small for 4 sharing glad we booked 2 rooms.

The fact there is a 24hr reception was ideal we never arrived untill after 10 at night and didnt need to go looking for keys. The bar is open 24 hours as well for guests.

Not sure about entertainment we didnt stay for any.

The apartments are in an ideal spot short walk to the square.

The staff are excellent anything we needed we just had to ask.

Loved them so much going back in october

We had called one month prior to arrival to ensure this apartment was suitable for a toddler and asked for a cot and a fan to ensure our toddler was catered for.

The apartment was tiny, old and very basic. We had not been informed that the cot cost 5 euros per day and as this would work at £50 for 2 weeks we refused to pay it and they removed the cot. The fan was not provided and we were given a dirty office fan to make do with. The 'satellite TV' did not work. The kitchen equipment was disgusting. The balcony filthy and not safe for a young child. The floor is very slippery when wet and you have to follow your toddler round to ensure they don't smash their head on the tiles.

The entertainment programme consisted of 6 nights of karaoke - dire. The children's play area was made up of 2 swings and a rusty old climbing frame - this is definitely not suitable for children of all ages. The sun beds were dirty and had to be paid for. The tiles around the swimming pool were cracked and loose and a hazard to any young child. The pool is small and cold and full of floating things.

There were many many large groups of stag and hen parties and whilst this hotel is advertised as lively it does also state it is suitable for families. Drunken, swearing and aggressive behaviour around the pool is not family friendly and the hotel should decide who they will cater for. Human fluids were left in the lift.

Reception staff were unprofessional and often sullen. I too had to ask for towels and toilet roll to be changed. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless you plan on being too drunk to notice.

I was panicking when i read the reviews, but i dont know what you are all moaning about.

Being self catering i did not expect much, but i reckon i got a lot more. The room was on the small side for four, the sofa beds were very comfortable (foam mattress, cant beat it). Fair enough it is not the Ritz, but it does not claim to be. The room was cleaned 4 times when we there and the sheets and towels where constantly fresh. The kitchen area was small and could only handle one person at a time and the oven was in a bit of a sorry state when we got there, but there was a chippy round the corner so ate there all the time, GO TO RAYS II IT IS EXCELLENT, the staff are very helpfull.

The staff at the Eva Mar were very helpfull especially the english receptionist. The spanish receptionist always looked grumpy but if you have to do a 6:00 pm to 6:00 am shift what to you expect!

There where problems however, there seems to be a lot of lads parties and stag / hen parties. They seem to get put on the top floor so you cannot hear them. We were on the 7th floor and was nice, not much view, but the lifts were quick. There is a new apartment being built to one side and the market is twice a week, but it did not bother me.

The toilet paper ran out constantly as they only leave 2 rolls for you so we had to nick some from the toilets downstairs. We told the maid and got given 10.

Another problem was the balcony, it was very big, but the rail / guard is very low so be carefull with children.

If people want to use their eyes it does clearly state that you have to empty your own bins, but the maid did our regardless.

The bar was cheap and the entertainment was tacky, but it is Benidorm so what do you expect.

I would go back again, ignore the bad reviews, its just people expecting everything for nothing.

Hope this has been a help.

I approached this short break with some trepidation, having read the reviews on this site and others, in fact I was so worried about what I had booked I did not tell my partner about the bad reviews.

But the holiday was fairly cheap, booked off the internet, and we needed a break it was a case of anywhere but here!

After a bad start, the flight was delayed for 3 hours at Blackpool because of an engine fault, meaning we did not arrive at Alicante till nearly midnight, Blackpool airport is no place to suffer delays it’s alright if you can get straight on your flight but to be honest they just do not have the facilities.

My first reaction on seeing the apartments was “oh ****" what the hell have I let myself in for, the building was a very tall skyscraper 24 floors high.

The reception area is linked to the bar and lounge come café, the place had a care worn appearance, out apartment was situated on the 6th floor, and to be honest it was not too bad, a little on the small side and slightly dated, and you could say a little bit scruffy.

But saying all that it was not a bad place to use as a base, despite all other reports we suffered no noise and there was no groups of hen or stag nights in residence for our entire week, most of the other people seemed to be pensioners on long term breaks.

We did not partake in the catering offered but from what I saw it was quite good value, a good breakfast costing 3.40 euros, and the drinks from the bar appeared to be cheap. We found the staff to be friendly and courteous at all times.

One thing to note that the showers are very weak, the hot water coming from an individual immersion heater, we ended up having to have a bath, the only trouble was that there was only enough water for one bath, the boiler taking over an hour to heat up again.

The apartments are located away from the main bar areas but not too far away making it nice and quiet (although there was some entertainment on at night we did not bother as it all seemed rather amateurish, but then again that’s Benidorm all over in my opinion).

Maid service was not up to much, and there was a fair amount of building work going on around the area so it can get noisy day and night it is about a 15 min walk to the Levate beach

Some of the apartments are privately owned,

All in all it could be argued that the apartments are now past their best, they must have been built in the 1980’s, not bad for a short winter break.

We had a room on the 23rd floor, so we had an excellent view from our large balcony.

The Hotel staff were quite helpful and spoke very good English.

We did not eat in the hotel, so I could not say what the food was like.

We were only a few minutes walk from the main bars and clubs, which made it very quiet around the Evamar. Market day was very busy, with thousands of people milling around the stalls, but with being very high up, we did not hear much noise.

On arrival at the apartments the entrance was nice and clean. Got to reception and not the most pleasant of greeters but however it was late, we then had to pay a deposit for any damages to the apartment fair enough but when your on a low budget holiday its a bit much to ask.

Went into the room and the stench was awful. We had to get the sheets changed and we hadn't even slept in the bed. For 4 people the rooms were not very spacious. 2 single beds and 2 rock hard sofa beds and the pillows were fit for the bin.

Market day was great just outside but the shoppers use the evamar toilets and bar it was chaos. On one occassion there was a rat at the poolside, the water was not clean both kids got ear infections the sun loungers were ok.

The so called entertainment was a joke wasn't sure if it was a comedy show or a karaoke. And if you leave anything in your room in a carrier the assume its rubbish and throw it out like my iron for instance.

kitchen equipment was appauling. Anyone who goes check your inventory as they will bill you, so make sure you have everything. we were there for 14 days and on the 6th day we had to ask for our towels and bedding to be changed and got the look like how dare you ask to get your sheets changed. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

We stayed at the Eva Mar apartments In May 2004. We where on the next to top floor. The lifts where fine and we didn't find them slow at all. On entering the apartment we were quite pleased, although very basic they where clean. Would have give anything for my own pillow. The balcony was huge and being on a high floor we could see the sea. The bed linen was changed once in the week we were there and the towels twice. The staff at the hotel where lovely people and spoke very good english (a lot better than I speak spanish). The pool area was nice with plenty of loungers. The hotel provides entertainment but we didn't stay in the hotel on a evening so cannot really comment. As for location it was brill, five minute walk to beach, main nightlife area, shops etc. The market is right on the doorstep and market days are noisy from early in the morning, but anyone wanting a quiet holiday dosen't go to benidorm anyway. We had a wonderful time love benidorm, there is something for everyone and would definetly go back to eva mar

I found the reception area ok and the entertainment (what I saw of it) not too bad. Ok so there's the good bits out of the way.....now for the rest. The corridors stunk of dog mess, and the rooms stunk like mouldy food. There was 1 towel each which we didn't know at the time had to last us 4 days the first week but got them changed every 2 days after that. We got clean sheets for the beds and towels both left in the bidet for us to change ourselves, (found out later they only change the beds for people who don't make their beds when they get out of them), the dirty ones were left on the floor of the apartment till the day we left.....may even still be there for all I know!!! Ok so we had to take the rubbish out.....but 20 floors and a walk to the road then struggling with a heavy lid on a skip really made us feel good after our showers. Take your own kettle as the one we had was diabolical.....cook wear????? didn't use it....stunk too much. There is one good point.....it was handy for the market. I'm not a fussy person....I go camping for gowds sake!!!! I would NOT stay at the Evamar apartments again!!!!!!

Booked hotel for a birthday 2004. Expecting very basic accommodation. Very friendly staff and the reception, bar staff best, we have ever had,(year of travel).

Rooms very spacious, massive balcony, good cooking facilities. Towels changed ever day except Sunday. Been back to this hotel 3 times. Tried to get booked this year 2006 found it very hard to get the dates we want. We have managed to book for March 2007. Direct with the hotel. cheaper than a package.

The only draw back we have found with the location of the apartment. After visited cafe Benidorm the long dark road is easy fixed by a taxi. 3euros.. while you are in Benidorm you must must visit the Rich Bitch in the old town, if you are up for a laugh.
