Having just returned from these apartments August2002 I would like to make the following comments. My party consisted of my husband, myself and two daughters aged 13 & 17. The apartments I found very basic with not enough storage space for clothes for 4 people. Lifts very unreliable. Lots of parties of young lads playing very loud music early hours in the morning also banging and kicking on our door when they came in drunk.

Nobody informed us of any building work going on directly outside the apatments, 7am every morning tippers dropping loads of rubble. On the plus side they are away from the hustle and bustle of Benidorms centre. Eating out in Benidorm I have to reccomend Foodland, good food, good prices and very quick pleasant service. Tried Rays Chippy twice and each time had to wait an hour for our meal.

Any bad comments about the Evamar apartments in Benidorm are a load of rubbish. Before I went on holiday (27/4/02) I checked holiday-truth.com to find out what my accommodation would be like. Most of the reports were quite bad. I didn't find a problem with them, apart from the lifts being a bit slow and unreliable, but the more than helpful staff sorted out any problems straight away.

It’s true that you have to rent the sunbeds (roughly equivalent to £1 - they’re £3 on the beach!) but remember - it's not a hotel, its self-catering. There is a 24 hour reception and bar service and snacks are served 10:00 until 20:00 and are very good value for money. Happy hour from 9:00 till 10:30 but drinks aren't dear anyway.

The rooms were clean and spacious. Even though the brochures say that maid service is every 5 days, the maid calls in to change sheets and towels every other day.

Didn't find any problems with the swimming pools, they were all clean and safe, and there was even an indoor heated pool for the bad weather. The brochure says the market is nearby - WHAT AN UNDERSTATEMENT!!! It’s more or less on the front door! Walking at an easy pace, you could probably reach the beach in ten minutes.

If you're eating out, may I recommend BARNIES BAR for the best breakfast and prices, situated near to 'Steptoes II'. Also, try (ironically) RUBBLES BAR which is also near to Steptoes II.

ENTERTAINMENT- In The Eva Mar, there is karaoke or a disco every night and, on occasions, a magic show. It’s OK but if you want to see an artist, then you are better off going to a nightclub. You can take children in all the night spots and pubs and the entertainment is great (I'll recommend Steptoes I and II, Rockerfellas, and Sandra's nightclub). The best act in town is most definitely LEVI (drag artist) which is on every night except Friday at Sandra's.
