Access to the Hotel was good with ramps at the main entrance and at reception (which was good for us as there was a baby in our party so the less inconvenience for us with the pram the better.)
Inside the Hotel was very clean especially around reception and the bar, toilets and internet/card/billiard lounge (which does not seem to be used much) on the ground floor. The lifts could do with a makeover and service. There are 4 lifts (2 for the even numbered floors, 2 for the odd) and during our stay one seemed to break down about once a day. Luckily we were on the third floor so we could walk down - I wouldn't have liked to have been on the upper floors as around meal times you could wait ages for the lift.
The rooms were fairly basic and would be comfortable if occupied by 2 adults. We had 2 rooms, one with 2 adults & 2 children, the other with 3 adults. If there are 3 adults sharing a room in your party don't rely on getting privacy as they cram 3 beds in the one room. The best feature was the air conditioning which meant an extremely comfortable nights sleep.
Each room has a TV (without a remote control). Aparently you have to hire the remote from reception so if you like watching TV on holiday bear this in mind.
Most of our day was spent around the pool. There was plenty of space so it did not seem cramped. The pool was very good and seemed to be cleaned, although we did not see this but no signs of scum, insects, etc floating on surface. Small childrens pool knee deep, large main pool and smaller covered pool. Main pool had a life guard in attendance during the day.
Was not impressed with the food on offer. Had one enjoyable evening meal during the week. Otherwise breakfast and meals were poor, although evening meal was always busy. They are very strict about you wearing long trousers for evening meal.
We did not attend any of the entertainment so this has been rated average.
Overall I enjoyed my stay in the Rosamar. I hear the Hotel is closing for some renovation work soon. Hopefully they will sort the lifts. I would return to this Hotel but not in the near future.

Now, I admit to being a fusy eater but even so, there was hardly any choice whatsover in the restaurant. Eventually, I had to eat out to stave off starvation. The champagne was good though.
No problems with the staff on reception, though my party had few dealings with them. The bar and restarrant staff were generally friendly. No shorts can be worn during evening meal and they are strict about this.
Entertainment was not good at all. A Spanish duo sang in Spanish every night. Competent and pleasant enough but not EVERY night ... please! Some of the other acts included a duo blowing bubbles, the bubble man or something, and parrots riding bikes. Say no more.
Access is generally good for disabled people (NOTE: CAN EVERYBODY ADDRESS THE ISSUE OF ACCESS IN THEIR REVIEWS. IT CAN BE VERY HELPFUL). A few steps out front with a ramp to the side. There were a couple of steps around the reception area, but there were also handrails and a ramp. The worst part was access to the pool - four steps and no hanrail. There was a ramp but it was not that helpful ... great idea, give pepople with mobility problems the furthest dsitance to travel. Novel.
The toilets in reception were nice and clean. But if you need to do anything in there, make sure you do it quickly or all the lights go off. Timers, great idea.
The worst thing of all. The lifts. Four in total, two for odd floors and two for even. They took forever to come, you usually ended up going up and down a few times before the chance came to alight, they were usually cramped, they were very hot inside and they had the strangest heavy metal outer doors I have EVER seen on a lift. What they achieved I'll never know.
There was a great cabaret room in there but that was hardly used.
Better hotels in Benidorm. Rosamar is stuck in the seventies despite the obvious attempts to improve it, it still feels SO SEVENTIES. You wouldn't have to go far to find a better hotel. Just next door, The Calypso looked great.

It has with 4 lifts, 2 serving even number rooms, 2 odd number rooms. Very busy at meal times.
No problem with the food, plenty of it and a chef to carve. We stayed at New Year and the meal was excellent
Rooms were average with not much view from balony apart from other high rise hotels. The hotel is not too far from the beach but the building works were going on that time.
The staff in the reception bar were very good & remembered what we were drinking, maybe cos we spent a lot of time in there. Head waiter was very professional, not to keen on reception staff as they could be abrupt.
Chamber maids were very good & thorough.
Couldn't see much entertainment, usual parrot show & ball room dancing which attracted lots of older Spaniards
I dont think we would visit again at New Year as there are a lot of shuffly oldies (we are 50) who would only move quickly when it came to meal times. Maybe it is better at a different time of year.

The staff are great, hotel really clean, lovely, but small, indoor pool.
The food was really nice, not a lot of entertainment but I like the entertainment outside anyway.

The hotel was very near to night club and pubs 5 mins to the Black Chicken. The staff had stuff for the kids and teenagers. Pool is great nice and deep for diveing in the pool when you are hot. Kids pool as well. Food - there is all types of food.
Entertainment was too boring and older people will like it much more than children. The cleaner was very good in and out in 10 mins. When you are bored of the hotel night entertainment, go out to the nightclubs and comedy clubs and don't watch Sticky Vicky shes not for kids and teenagers.
Thats my holiday - a great time in Spain!

Food was buffet style and was very good indeed and there was plenty of choice at every meal. The roast meat dish of the evening was carved and dished out by the chef - but everything else was help yourself and you could literally eat as much as you liked. The wine that was brought around on a trolley by the drinks waiter was very reasonably priced and very good too and there was a decent selection of wines to choose from. We stayed half board but when we had an evening out planned and wouldn't be there for dinner, we were able to ask at the reception to exchange our evening meal for a lunch time meal and this was not a problem.
The pool area was the most dissapointing aspect of the hotel and in my opinion it wasn't particularly up to much and I found it to be far from the same high standards of the rest of the hotel and it certainly could do with being made into more of a hotel feature. It was kept spotlessly clean (as is all of the hotel) and there were plenty of sunbeds available but it just lacked a certain something! Maybe some background music and some pretty lighting in the evening would create a bit more of an atmosphere around the pool and during the day it could do with an outdoor poolside bar. There is a bar that opens out onto the pool but you had to serve yourself and perhaps a waiter service around the pool would be a nice touch for the guests. Also, another big mistake on the hotels part was that there was no snack bar around the pool area and if you were having a day around the pool and were on half board the only choice you had from what I could see were pre-packed sandwiches or you could opt to use the buffet lunch available in the dining room. If you simply wanted a burger or a pizza etc - this was not available.
The hotel entertainment seemed to be varied and mainly suited to the maturer guests - and for those that enjoy ballroom dancing this hotel would definitely suit you and for those who enjoy a good comedian or singer this hotel is only minutes away from all the bars and clubs that offer so many different acts from comedians, drag acts, singers, hypnotists and even some very "naughty" artistes etc! So even if the hotel entertainment is not your cup of tea - you will be sure to find something to suit you in the immediate vicinity!
To sum it up - The Rosamar is a very nice hotel, clean and comfortable and the food was excellent and it is situated in a central location - so for those of you who may have walking difficulties you will find you are only minutes from the beach and promenade, not to mention the many shops, bars and restaraunts. The Square - which is a favourite with the youngsters is also only a short stroll away.
If I were to return to Benidorm I would definitely return to the Rosamar Hotel and for anyone thinking of staying at the Rosamar you will not be dissapointed by your choice.
