We were on the 17th floor and had a great view of most of Benidorm. We also looked down on hotel Sol Pelicanos' swimming pool where they film "Benidorm".

Depends on preference.
Balcony overlooking pool... daytime sun, road traffic noise.
Balcony park side afternoon sun... bus stop, traffic noise.
Only 6 floors so not a high building for Benidorm.

Great wee beach at the bottom of the road and Vincent’s bar across the road for great karaoke.Bar staff excellent especially Duncan.Balcony not always guaranteed. The other hotels we visited were also welcoming and they had an outdoor pool. Cristal park and Villa Benidorm. Excellent.
We will return. ???

Get a very high or very low floor, the middle is a nightmare for getting on the lifts.
Are the club rooms worth the extra not in my opinion

Go somewhere else
Don't take anything valuable. They just tell you to use the safe. We had expensive make up and jewellery stolen...other people had clothing stolen...others money. Gonna need bigger safes!!!! Disgusting

take extra cash because the company didnt tell us about needing a deposit! we had to pay 150 euros per room when we got there, in cash, as they didnt accept credit or debit cards (even though they took these at the bar?!) and this left us short of cash.

If like me you are a light sleeper book a pool view room.
33% off drinks in the night club under the hotel, entry near the restaurant for hotel guests. Crissie Rock good comedienne (if you are broad minded).

we were advised not to use the alleyway at night from the main road to the apartments due to some muggings. needs to be better secured.

a resort with lots to do, beach, shops, bars etc, bus ervice good but easy to walk everywhere. good beach but sun beds and umbrellas expensive 12 eoros! still possible to get reasonable food and drinks despite the euro being so bad.

weather was beautiful, 28 degrees most days, beach very busy this year we didnt see any of the eu beggers and prostitues that had ruined the resort before, also no rose sellers, potatoe men doing their con trick. There were more police around this time which made us feel alot safer when out late at night

Love it, Plenty to do for any age group. Highly recommended.

As usual, the only problem with the cleanliness of the resort was the dog poo!! Everything else was spotless, with bin men and beach cleaners operating every night. Plenty of entertainment for every one (including children). Looking forward to our next visit.

My wife and I stayed in Benidorm for a week during October 2009. It was the 8th time we had been to Benidorm, but we hadn't been back for around 3 years.
There had been some changes, but basically it was much as we remembered. The pavements seemed to be more broken and potholed, and definitely in need of repair in places. We went down to Elche Park, which was in the process of being renovated last time we were there, and I noticed that already the marble walkway was very cracked and broken, probably from the park maintenance people running their vehicles over it, something that could have been easily forseen and prevented.
Some of the Old Town streets had been converted into pedestrian only thoroughfares, noticeable the Calle Gambo, and I thought that this was a rather nice feature, but the Hispanidad was almost impassable with fencing and roadworks. It will be interesting to see what they have done there when its finished.
The entertainment was still good in most of the clubs, a few new faces and many familiar ones. There is a new place, Broadway, on the Gerona, and we enjoyed a night in there but like some other places they make the mistake of having the same acts every night, so even if you like the place you don't want to sit through the same people telling the same jokes or singing the same songs. If they had varied it we would certainly have gone back, nice place, and obviously trying to stay upmarket. The duo comedy act, can't remember the name but billed as the oldest married couple in Benidorm, are well worth catching, as is Tony Scott.
El Divo were on at Valentine's and were superb. Port in a Storm and The Blues Brothers at The Western Saloon were great, Rod Stewart at Morgans followed by We Will Rock You ( since when did Queen have a girl in the lineup? Very good
though.) And of course the immortal Chrissie Rock. Donna Glass sounds better every time we hear her, like wine she improves with age. Why on Earth do people look down their noses at Benidorm? There are far worse acts on the TV than these people. We also caught Matthew and Son at Valentine's, and despite what Simon Cowell said, they are far from horrific, they obviously do the act very tongue in cheek and are all the better for it.
I can't really comment on the beach, as I'm not a beach lover, but plenty seemed to be enjoying it. I did notice that the Beach Rock Cafe is now a place called Tiki Beach, though, and in my opinion not an improvement. Still, it was full so many do like the change.
The iron goat herd in the little park still has no hat after several years. Surely this would not break the bank to replace it? Someone had also dumped a pallet in the little park amongst the iron goats, not a good image for the place.
Lunchtime one day we decided to break our usual habit of eating in Spanish places and support a British cafe. Never again! The food was the kind of disgusting slop one would expect in a 1950s transport cafe somwhere up the A1. I think some of the ex pats have sat on their laurels too much and not realised that Britain has moved on and peoples' tastes and expectations have changed. Next day we had a lunch in Carlitos Pollo Assado on the front and enjoyed superbly cooked food at the same price.
Benidorm is certainly suffering. I went for a walk round the shops one afternoon while the wife was having a siesta and the Gerona and Mediterraneo were almost deserted, it was like a ghost town. The shop keepers looked toally bored and fed up, as well they might. Most of the people in Benidorm seemed to be the more affluent older and middle class holiday makers, and such people don't tend to buy cheap shoes and waving toy cats very much. Probably right now these people are the only Brits who can really afford
holidays, but the shops won't be seeing much money from them.
On the good side, there were far fewer beggars, pea men and pick pockets around, probably because there were fewer targets, but also the little Chinese girls didn't seem to be coming around the bars with their flashing earrings and toys, and some of the African guys had persuaded the clubs to take them on as unpaid toilet attendants, getting only tips from the customers and no wages. Times must be hard.
