Take an empty water bottle with you down to breakfast and fill it up, saving you having to buy water for the day.

Beaches

First time I have been to the Costa Brava and I was pleasantly surprised by the stunning coastline. Lloret De Mar was very clean and both beaches fantastic. We mostly used Fenals Beach which is an easy 10 minutes walk from the Ryal Star hotel. There is a nice area for snorkelling at one end of Fenals beach.

llorett de mar was a very lively resort which was kept reasonably clean. There were lots of bars and shops along the sea front at lloret but not so many where we stayed. We visited the beach a few times and this we found very clean. There were lots of stalls in which to book boat trips to various other resorts. The resort itself was fairly family orientated.

I've got to say that I really wasn't expecting very much of Lloret, expecting very much a Blackpool style and atmosphere. I was pleasantly surprised.
This is obviously a town where people come to party and has it's fair share of typical shops who are obviously there to part us tourists with our hard earned. Nevertheless, the town and beach were clean and tidy.
The resort is big enough to handle the party people, who did not seem to be the British rather a mix of other Europeans, and there are many bars, cafe's and restaurants with a more sophisticated and low key atmosphere.
Even for my two young sons there was plenty to do both night and day. On their return they said it was their best holiday ever.
The beach was a little steeply shelving and the waves a little rough for the boys but this was probably a little due to the breeze blowing in from the sea. The sand itself is not the finest, more the grade of very small peas and, I have to say it absolutely murdered my feet.
All in all though, much better than expected!

Fenels, a quieter part of Lloret de Mar, the beach is really clean and you can have a nice stroll there after dinner, also from the beach area you can catch a boat to all the other neighbouring resorts.
There all kinds of restaurants to suit every taste and at a very reasonable cost.
There are plent of excursions, but if you would like something with a difference try the day trip to Gerona.
The one good thing about Fennels is that you can walk into Lloret and taste a different side but at the same time stay in the quieter resort of Fenels.

Have been to Llorett a couple of times in the past, great resort, lots of entertainment...basically if you're out for a good holiday you will be in for one. Beach is shingle but at least you dont leave full of sand.

Overall the resort was beautiful andI would not hesitate to return there for future holidays.Plenty of night life and some great bars.If your after a funfilled day out dont hesitate to visit Water World a gret day to be had by all.
Beaches were clean and offered plenty beach sports to try.

First visit and liked the resort very much - needs more colurful plants and flowers (especially at the beach area and main routes)to create a resort atmosphere rather than that of a redidential town. Some road surfaces require attention. Someone needs to regularly pick up broken glass and bottles on the streets.

Lloret has everything any age group could seek on holiday. Superb!. I would definately recommend 'Disaster Cafe, Lloret' for a unforgettable experience for all the family. Also, the Orient Express Cafe, Lloret. Superb food, atmosphere, staff and view!. Fab place all round. Barcelona by day (Nou Camp Stadium) and night (Dancing Fountains) - trip not to be missed!!!. Marineland trip excellent!!!

The area was good with small shops selling a variety of goods until late.
There are some good walks if you follow the red and white markings painted on trees, walls, and on curb stones!
excellent water park.

An easy going area with plenty of shops, did not try any of the entertainment particularly Robin Hood as we had kids and it was difficult getting the younger ones to leave the apartments. I enjoyed shopping there as there was plenty of craic with the shopkeepers trying to barter. The beach are is made up of shingle sand which is a little sore on bare feet but otherwise very clean, with plenty of room and things to do.From our apartments the town is little more than 5 mins away, the main crossing can get a little busy and it takes forever for the pedestrian lights to change! The food is not too bad, but it takes to shop around for the best value for money,we found a nice little restaurant on the main street opposite Caprabo Supermarket which does nice steak and onions, mushrooms. Talking of Caprabo men/boys don't go in the without a t shirt on as you will be asked to leave quite abruptly.
