This hotel was a holiday from hell it needs to be looked at cleanliness.

Terrible mattress's in our room were disgusting. We had to ask for sheets filthy stained all below basic.

Food you just could not eat pork pork if you like salad salad all same horrible food.

Location was okay apart from underpass that they never informed us about dangerous to walk.

At night got to go bed after 12 midnight all lights out totally disgusting. Entertainment none.

We would not go to this hotel if it was free we got a flight home after 5 days just wanted to get out

We tried to re-booked as we looked on this site and were not very pleased. Fleetways said there was nothing they could do, we even thought about not going and just cutting our losses. I wish we had stayed at home.

It rained for 6 days out of 8 which would have just been bearable if there had been entertainment on for at least the children. I do not call 1 girl with old colouring books and crayons entertainment. As for the adults a 15 minute game of bingo also was not satisfactory.

When we where able to get out the only way to anything was to take our children over the railway line so as you can guess we stayed in.

The food was ok but the same things over and over again.

As I write this we are still waiting for Fleetway travel to respond to our holiday from hell.

Our advice to you if you are looking to book don't especially if you have children no matter what people tell you there is nothing to do!

Food wasn't good at all, we ended up eating out. There was no childrens menu and you were only aloud to get two drinks from the bar at any time, even if your a family of four(it was so silly).

There was no entertainment well nothing of great interest anyway and what was on at the night didnt start untill late.

Your not aloud to stay in the bar after its closed your are shown to your rooms. Then woken at the crack of dawn by the cleaners who obviously dont know how to be quiet or have respect for others sleeping.

On exiting the food hall please wear gas masks as the smoke is horrendous in the bar which is situated directly outside the food hall??????

Lots of rules and regulation in the hotel no fun is aloud exception: children aloud to run wild at the wee small hours of the night knocking on doors, waking others and nothing even said to them.

You get charged for cots 3 euros a night so beware

Enjoy your stay at the Hotel Amaraigua.

When we first arrived and walked through the hotel doors I was quite suprised at how posh the hotel looks. I must admit though we got transferred from a company called Fleetway and since the hotel is on the beach side you have to cart your suitcases under a subway which took us ages cause we had to keep stopping as our arms was dropping off!

I am quite a fussy eater but I thought the food was lovely, it was quite basic ie a meaty dish, fish dish and there was always chips. I couldnt quite understand why you could only have fruit juice at breakfast though!

I thought the staff was extremely friendly (prob because we were 2 young girls in our 20's!!!) and always greeted us with a huge smile and they got to know what drinks we like in the day and of a night. It was great popping to the poolside bar and taking a cocktail on the beach with you. We had glorious sunshine everyday which was great!!!

I didnt really think too much of the entertainment, being 23 I was a bit old for the so called 'mini disco' and Ithought the main entertainer was very stroppy and unfriendly!

After reading some poor reviews of this hotel after we booked we were a bit reluctant to go. We found out when we arrived we need not have worried.

Our room was a family room with plenty of space although we did not have a balcony it did not bother us, but we did hear some rooms were small.

The food was fine and plenty of it. The only problem with the dining room was it was too small, so if you came down 5 mins after opening you had to wait until someone came out. If you waited for about an hour after opening there were plenty of tables.

Hotel staff were friendly. At times reception staff were not very helpful.

Great location, only problem was caring cases through underpass not easy for the elderly but not too bad for us.

Will go back to this hotel with family, maybe 2 years time.

Entertainment was poor so I would suggest looking elsewhere.

This hotel was an absolute joke.

The food was disgusting, which as an animal lover would not of fed to any animal. Snacks every day, well if you like bread rolls (dry) hot dogs, chips and pizza which were re heated every time therefore they were full of grease.

Room massive but only because they had to put us in a family room because on arrival they did not have us booked in or on the transfer from the airport, so after many phone calls between myself and booking agent I was eventually left in the family room.

On the Thursday of that week a carrier bag was missing from my room after maid had been in to clean (allegedly) I went to reception staff who were very unpleasant and explained that the bag contained 2 new books and 100 cigarettes I was told no way would their staff touch any residents items but where did the bag go is the 64 dollar question. I was then given the phone number for the police which she knows I would not call as I don't speak Spanish and completely washed her hands of my complaint. So asking would a ever return not even if hell froze over, should anyone want to send an enemy then this is the place to book them in. Borstal or prison food would be better (well let's put it this way)couldn't possibly be any worse.

I am still in process of writing complaint to booking agent so will keep you guys posted of out come, ie will they wash their hands of my complaint.

When I arrived at the hotel I was quite impressed.

The hotel was located on the beach and there seemed to be a lot of bars and shops situated around the hotel.

However when checking in the staff behind the reception didn't seem interested just handed over the room keys and that was about it. When we went up to check out the accommodation the door frame was hanging off and there was a cot in the room which made the room very cramp indeed. I went down to reception and told the receptionist of my complaint. He came up to inspect the room and said he would move us. The receptionist went round four different rooms before he handed us over the keys to a big sized family room.

The room had air conditioning, two small balcony's, a well cleaned bathroom. My only complaint was the room smelt of damp.

The AI was quite good snacks and food very simple.

The pool and sun area was small but well kept on a daily basis. We ate out a lot in the town of Malgaret which was very good.

I unfortunately couldn't find many reports on the Hotel Amaraigua before I booked with Fleetway Travel, the reviews I found all seemed to be bad ones, that is why I feel the need to defend and give my opinion on this lovely hotel.

We were 3 sisters aged 27, 24 and 17, and we had no complaints on the accommodation (basic but comfortable), cleanliness (rooms were cleaned everyday) and the entertainment (not for our liking but ok for a few drinks in the evening mostly aimed at children and although people were complaining all the kids were running around with smiles on their faces!).

The Hotel is situated directly on the beach which is amazing, and we had no problem getting a space and sunbed (4 euro), unlike if you want to stay around the pool, spaces seemed limited, but we are beach people anyway, we only had to walk a few yards from the beach during the day to get our all inclusive drinks and food from the Hotel which was fantastic.

Daytime snacks consisted of chips, pizza and hotdogs 10:30 - 12:30 and 2:30 to 6:30pm, lunch is also served buffet style in the restaurant which has alot more on offer. We found the food fine and had no complaints, we on the other hand are not fussy eaters and were happy with the choice of soup, salads, pastas etc. I know that a few guests did not like the food but they still were there at opening time filling their plates up and eating it. If you are a fussy eater maybe all inclusive is not for you and a b&b basis would be better so you can go out for dinners in the buzzing resort a very short walk away.

There were plenty of restaurants within a 5-10 min walking distance and we ate out a few nights (no complaint to the hotel but we are the type of people that don't mind spending a bit of cash on holiday to get dressed up and have a nice meal and a large jug of sangria!!).

All drinks finished at 11:30pm in the evening and the hotel basically shut down at 12:00 which wasn't so bad, some parents felt the need to again complain that drinks weren't available after 11:30pm but personally I don't think it is such a bad thing considering they had children with them.

For young groups of people there were plenty of bars and nightclubs a short distance away if you wanted a night out.

Hotel Amaraigua was a delightful find and I would definitely go back for a weeks holiday in the future. For the price you pay it is a cheap and cheerful and good value for money place to go for a week in the sun what people seemed to forget is that if you want luxury you pay for luxury and the Hotel Amaraigua is not and has never been advertised or priced as a luxurious holiday hotel.

Firstly I have to defend this hotel, as I read some awful reviews after booking, which worried me no end espescially, when we have 4 children, I must put you all at ease and let you know that the hotel was kept clean, the food was excellent with a huge variety of choice, it was impossible to get hungry over our stay.

The hotel was in an ideal location, arm stretch to the beach, some reviews spoke of sloping down to the sea being not children fiendly, yet there were flat areas of the beach perfect, within a 20 second walk.

The staff were friendly and efficient continually topping up food levels over lunch and dinner, meat, fish, salad and lovely fruit in abundance.

The entertainment was perfect for family amusing, musical and friendly. kids club were cool and a lot of creativity for the young ones and sporty games for the older kids, no complaints.

Finally I would visit again.

Hotel was basically clean and tidy although very small rooms. We were situated at the front of the hotel a stones throw away from the railway line and could tell you the times of each train and dustcart and road sweeper and what time the clubs finished at night, impossible to sleep! Plus we had over 100 mosquitoes sharing our room with us and we were bitten really badly and had to try more than one repellent to avoid this problem.

Food was fair and a good variety for everyone although we did get a bit sick of the hotdogs, pizza and chips. Alcohol was poor and you could drink all day and into the evening and still be fairly sober and we are not normally heavy drinkers!

Location is good if you have a sea view as to being near the beach but if you have the railway view we feel sorry for you!

Staff were excellent apart from one bar staff who was rude and kept pestering for tips all the time.

Entertaiment was pathetic only geared up for kids when they did actually turn up unlike the parrots.

We would definitely not visit this hotel again, in addition to this the pool is just an oversized bath and the Jacuzzi a shower tray.

A fair description of this hotel is not 3 star but one in need of a lot more than just a lick of paint. Although this is not their fault we had storm which flooded the hotel peoples rooms were flooded the hotel manager was insistent that the residents clear away the water that was approx 6-8 inches deep, the bar was then shut, children were petrified and the whole place was chaotic.
