If you are ever going to stay at this hotel make sure you are fit and very healthy and don't have any breathing problems were you need to use inhalers, the road from the front up to the hotel should be named as Coronary Hill as this hill could lead and cause a person to have a heart attack, the side of the hotel where we where it was always in the shade, and another thing is advisable to bring earplugs because you find when people come in late they can be a bit nosy taking no thought for people trying to sleep, and people argueing during that time of the morning....

Beaches

This is our 5th year in a row to Benalmadena. We feel comfortable with it. The beaches have def. improved and we seen a difference this year. We love how it has everything - waterpark, stunning marina, amusement park, selwo dolpin marina, cable car etc. We think it caters well for both families and couples alike.

The resort was excellent with plenty to do for everone. I would recommend a vist to Pamplona Park and the Marina, make sure you take a loaf of bread with you to each though. You'll need bread at the park to feed the turtles and terrapins and at the marina to feed the thousands of fish.
Also Bonanza Square (Plaza Bonanza Neuva) is particularly worth a visit if your travelling as a family as there are plentiful restaurants, bars and amusements for the kids all in a cobbled square set well away from the busy roads.
We visited Torremelinos and Fuengirola but much preffered Benalmadena.

this has been the best resort i have been to....im not a beach person nor is my kids but we did stay there one day and the sunbeds are so comfortable....the cable car ride is a must, that is if anyone has a head for heights but its not for small kids because when u get to the top...there are sheer drops everywhere and you would only end up carrying buggies about( definately not child friendly)
there are loads of eating places, all very reasonable, my favourite was Havans, past the windmill roundabout on the right hand side, i got a great tai chicken curry....i have no complaints about this holiday..the climate was right, the accomodation was right and the resort was right....i am one satisified customer....thank you Benalmadena Palace...

The resort was great plenty to do and see if you want to, spanish bars were brilliant, british bars most of them want to rip you off, plenty of good quality places to eat especially the pizza place the family before had mentioned definitly worth a visit by far our favourite place to eat, very entertaining kept my sons amused with their humour and pleasantness. Loved the beach can be busy at weekends with the spanish families enjoying their weekend but otherwise magic.Entertainment was there if you wanted it, water park at Torremolinoes was great. Buses every 15-20mins right along the coast 95cents per person.Plenty of supermarkets left and right at the bottom of the hill.

Resort is fairly clean and paving in reasonable condition, but their roadworks leave a lot to be desired in terms of guarding, pedestrian walkways, etc.
Entertainment is okay but pretty much as you would expect in pubs and clubs, although there is more on offer at Tivoli world
Beach across the road from the apts is very shingly and deep shelving, not really suitable for young kids. Best beach is beside the marina and given the heat and the distance, get the bus, it's only 95 cents per persoon, under 5's are free

Well, what can we say. Benalmadena is absolutely stunning. Driving from malaga we dropped people off at another resort and i was disappointed, thinking this is what Benalmadena would be like. But it couldn't have been more diferent. The Marina is absolutely stunning. The luxery bulidings surronding it give it an exclusive atmosphere. There are many shops and bars around the marina and a lovely little train ride to show you round. There is also a Sea life Centre at the marina, well worth a look. There is a lovely park in the resort, with a variety of wildlife and a huge lake with fish and hundreds of turtles!!
There is plenty to do in benalmadena as there is also a small, lovely theme park - Tivoli World with rides for all ages which is open from about 6pm to 2am. There are many pubs, cafes and bars in the resort aswell as the 24 hour square. the drinks are 2 for 1 but can still be quite expensive and the bars are free but clubs charge entry fee so we often got cheap booze form the supermarket before going out at about 12am when it starts to get lively.
The beach is pleasant with plenty of sun loungers to hire and the sea looked clean and was a lot of fun. Benalmadena is a lively, clean and beautiful resort for all ages which has obviously had huge amounts of money spent on it as it was fabulous!

although the resort is very clean and we never had a bad meal we felt a little like we were holidaying in a city the dual carrige way is very very busy. the sun beds on the beach are great and very good value. we met some very nice people and recomed the oasis bar where ruth and her hubby make you very welcome there are some excellent fish and chinese resturants and if you want a good english meal try sharills on the way to the marina. the marina has some very nice wood and leather shops.

The resort itself has everything you could want, the hotel is at the quieter end of town which suited us, but a short walk away took you to the livelier end. There are pubs and restaurants within five minutes away and then the restaurants continue along to the Marina which is lovely. The promenade starts just past Bil Bil Castle and takes you all the way to the Marina. The beaches are fine, the one nearest the hotel is handy with lovely sunbeds and matresses for hire, the sand can be rather sore to walk on with broken shells, but this changes daily depending on the tide. One day when we were there the sea was full of rubbish but had all disappeared by the next day! 24 hour square is the place to be if you want nightlife but be careful there are a few dodgy characters! The restaurants along the promenade are great they do try to hustle you in and the food is good so just tell them you have already eaten if you don't want to eat there. For breakfast try Coco's it is just five minutes away from the Benalmadena Palace on the way to town/beach and they serve excellent food (real British Bacon, not the usual Spanish style). The Plus Supermarket (next to the petrol station) is OK but tends to cater for bulk purchases, if you carry on past the Shell garage you will come to the Super Cor supermarket and this is lovely, more like an ASDA with fruit, meat and fish displays, and sells everything you could need.
