The hotel has a spa, located on the second floor of the hotel next to the indoor pool, which beauty and health treatments can be booked. It is worth asking reception about these on arrival.

Ask for a room with a balcony that has table & chairs. Rooms at the front will incur some traffic noise as overlook a busy road.

We had apartment on ground floor next to the small pool. It was very quiet. There is a small garden to sit in as well.

The seafront is paved and is fully accessible for a wheelchair. I would recommend using an electric wheelchair if possible as this gives you the opportunity to travel to neighbouring resorts along the tiled promenade.
Hot sun and friendly people .......... enjoy!

the resort should not be detailed in any holiday brochure, it is dirty, smelly and has nothing to offer,
entertainment scores a big fat zero with us.
the beach, great thought we could escape the hotel from hell, wrong the beach was discusting too!

the resort is ok their not in your face trying to get you into resturants. swimming in the sea could be dodgy seen unmentionables floating to close for comfort if you get my meaning. beware of gypsies sell carnations and pickpockets in the markets their highly organised and skilled at what they do.judging by all the grids on the lower floor windows they must be plagued by burgalaries the people who live there or have holiday homes at the resort.

I am commenting on the resort of La Carihuela, which comes under the local boundaries of Torremolinos.
Whilst I found Torromolinos hilly and typically catering for the "Costa British", Torremolinos is the place to be for bars and entertainment. However, La Carihuela is a small fishing village between Torremolinos and Benalmadena, with its beautiful long sandy beach, many fish restuarants and typical Andalusian life style.
It has so far avoided the Costa image the Brits have, I love it so much that I could live there permanently,(and so do the Spanish )

We visited fairly early in the season, hence it was still fairly quiet. Restaurants are plentiful and there are more than enough bars etc. to choose from. Didn't use the beach, but when walking along the promenade in the evening the beach looked clean and well looked after.

La Carihuela is a great place and you can have the best of both worlds the tradational spanish and if wanted english supermarkets etc.We visited in February and enjoyed tremendous nights out on the Marina at Benalmadena,Even thought off season the oldies escaping the British Winter give the place a nice atmosphere. All in all a total surprise in the middle of winter.

Torremolinos is a bit passed its sell by date..but it still has some nice spots..local train service to Malaga and Fuengirola is cheap and efficient...Take train to Arroya de Miel..and then the cable car ride from just outside Tivoli world..good value trip

very modern cosmopolitan town centre, leading via steps to more traditional spanish markets and beach.lots of boutiques, handbags, souvenirs and macdonalds and burger king.street entertainment in town square, fire eating, trad dancing etc.when we went it was fiesta week, lots of celebrations going on,parades through street, big, and i mean big, funfair, saint miguel parade (men carrying what looked like a coffin through streets),quite funny as they were all smoking and eating as they did this very serious ceremony (could you imaging the queen lighting up at the opening of parliament?)down near the beach there is a fantastic restaurant called the jester, looks quite expensive but we were eating there every night for about 25euros,the food is high quality, you can see them cook it,large servings, all very delicious and well worth it,the waitress was spanish, the chef dutch, the waiter argentinian and all spoken the most amazing english, very friendly and well worth a visit. beach clean and tidy but we are not big beach lovers anyway so only visited a few times, though there are plenty of sunbeds for hire, and lots bars, shops and restaurants. within walking distance of benalmadena, takes about 90minutes leisurely stroll along beach front, past marina, which has a good selection of bars there, trains very cheap though, something like 4euros return to benalmadena, well worth a trip out to theme park there, opens 4pm late season but open till 1am,no queues late season, like having the whole place to yourself, drinks in there are quite dear, but we had a lovely meal in cowboy ranch and very cheap. cost 4euros each to get in,then 15 euros each for armband to go on rides,so if someone doesnt want to go on rides, they can still get in for 4euros and watch all entertainment thats on and look after your bags and buggies whilst you enjoy yourself! train direct to fuengirola where water park is,a bit of a walk to find it but again, well worth a visit.very good train service, leaving regularly every 10/15 minutes, never late, air conditioned trains
