We arrived at the Estival Park hoping for a fab week with our 2 grandchildren ages 6 & 4.

It was their first time abroad and wanted to make it special for them. We had noticed on our flight out, lots of people dressed as teddy boys and 50's style clothing and really thought nothing of it, just assumed it was party thing going on. How wrong we were. We soon realised on arrival at the hotel that 75% of the guests were all there for a 1950's party week which was taking place in the hotel and the entertainment room was booked by their party for the whole week!!! Worse to come was that the venue was right under our duplex room which meant that we couldn't even think of going to sleep until after 1am when the rockin and rollin stopped. The bedroom floor actually shook with the noise below.

All that the First Choice rep could do was to promise that the music would finish at 12 after we complained. This meant we had to leave our hotel every night for alternative entertainment as 1950's music wears a bit thin all day by the pool and every night especially if you weren't born for another decade after it.

The food was quite good but poor childrens choice, the rooms were clean but very basic and the maids were without doubt the rudest I have ever met in years of going abroad. We actually got ranted at in Spanish because we came back 5 mins before they had finished cleaning our room and they left by slamming the door!!!!

The pools are very small in all 3 hotels, would hate to see how full they get in peak season!! The location is good though with easy access to Port Aventura & Salou. The pool area was not very clean and was littered with cigarette ends which really is a pet hate of mine, there is no excuse as there are ashtrays everywhere and although you cant blame the hotel, they should still clean this up.

All in all, we would not go back to this hotel ever and personally would say that this hotel is rated as a 3 star at best and in no way comparible to other 4 star hotels we have stayed at.

We were two couples stayed who in Estival 2 hotel for 1 week in May All inclusive.Food was very good.Variety of menu was impressive compared to others we have stayed at.Main meats were cooked fresh in front of you.Hot and cold snacks were available all day from the bar area.Good selection of drink available from soft drinks to locally produced spirits. International spirits and coctails were available for a 1 euro supplement. Our rooms were spacious and cleaned daily. The pools were cleaned daily and life guards on duty during opening hours.Easy access to places of interest either by bus or taxis.Local market on doorstep on Fridays. Unfortunately due to bad weather when we were there (we had some storms)not as many stalls as there should have been. The only down side to the holiday was that during the extreme bad weather(worse they had in 2 years) the hotel did not put any extra activities on to help with childrens boredom.(we were advised not to go outside for our own safety) The evening entertainment was good but sometimes not what was advertised, this also started quite late. The childrens disco was in one of the other hotels but did not matter to us as we had no children with us. Overall a very good holiday.

We had booked our holiday in sept 06 so we had to wait a whole year before going so we were very excited when our holiday date finally arrived! What an anti-climax!

Where do I start?! Ok the coach journey was great. no more than 20 mins (I have a fidgety 3 year old so was very grateful for this!) and Estival park was the first stop.
When getting off of the coach the rep didn't know which of the hotels we were staying in so popped into hotel 2 to speak to reception.

After telling all of us we were in hotel 2 (there are 3 hotels) we all queued up to check in a reception. After waiting ages it was our turn but they couldn't find our details on there system. 10 minutes later we were told we were actually in hotel 1 so we had to drag all of our suitcases and hand luggage down the road to hotel 1!
Check in was immediate so no waiting around for our room (it was about 11am)

We decided to go half board to save money on breakfast and evening meals and to have the freedom to sort out our own lunch and maybe venture out to one of the near by restaurants. When I opened the door to the room, horror! 2 beds in a tiny room, a bathroom and a balcony facing a building site (there is a golf course being built opposite the entrance of the hotel).

You will be affected by the building work if you are staying in an odd numbered room (last 2 numbers of the 4 digit room number)

There was no tea and coffee making facilities which we were very upset about as all we wanted to do was sit down on the balcony for a nice cuppa. Oh, and take travel wash and pegs with you because there is not a proper laundry service (no washing machines) The maid will collect an item (yes, 1 item!) and wash it an iron it for about

19 of us were all inclusive at estival 2 for a fortnight then another 33 joined us for our second week.

The hotel on the whole was clean we had interconnecting rooms for our party of 2 adults and 3 children which were perfect.
The first week all of our party came down with a sickness bug that was said to have been right through hotel.

We did eat breakfast a couple of mornings which was ok, the snacks through the day were fine but evening meals were not to our liking, im very suspicious about food in bulk and the food from the day before would appear as something else the next night,(it didn't help seeing a roland rat on the wall just outside restaurant!!!!)< We found a great pub and italian restaurant on the front this is where we ate for the rest of hols.

The entertainment was terrible the kids disco's and shows were in spanish, And even if there was something on later that was worth staying round the hotel for at 11.30 the bar shut moved from seating area and at 12.00 lights out (no joke even on the balconies)

The staff i found quite rude, and people staying at hotel from other european countries even more rude!!!!!.

The hotel was in good position for portaventura which was fab, and the waterpark.

The hotel would be ok for people travelling without kids but for us it is a definate never again!!!!!!.

I have just returned with my wife and 11 year old daughter from a week in the Estival Park. First impressions were poor as there is major building work going on in front of the hotel. We arrived at 11am and were told that the room wouldn't be available til 2pm.

This was our first all inclusive holiday ( we like self catering apartments) the wristband came as a shock too!
while we waited we checked round the facilities and found the reception/bar/pool areas spotless. We had a drink and snack from the bar and the room was ready at 1pm, unfortunately we were facing the building work.

The food in the restaurant was buffet style and there was lots of variety, some of it was to cater for the large number of Russians that were staying but there was always something tasty even for a fussy 11 year old!

The bedroom was small ( 3 beds) but very clean and air-conditioned and the maids cleaned and made the beds every day. One warning- the walls are very thin and you hear EVERYTHING!

The complex itself was excellent and is literally 2 Min's from the beach ,you can use the pools in all of the 3 hotel blocks, we were in 2 (as was everyone who went all inclusive) and the pool is split with one shallow side and one very deep side, children beware!!

The food available during the day from the bar was great and self service drinks including soft drinks, beer, wine, tea coffee etc were excellent. A really nice touch was the fridge full of litre bottles of water.

Entertainment was good at night from what we saw, and the bus service to Port Aventura/Salou/Cambrils is very good. Buy your Port Av tickets on the net for the best deals ( we bought a 7 day pass) . The fireworks on Saturday night are brilliant.

In conclusion I would say the hotel is good value but not 4star as billed, the food is great and the location very good. The service was good and if some waiters were miserable it was because they had to deal with rude customers!

We had a great time the weather was lovely and it is not just one hotel you can go between three and eat in all of them.

While we were there a lot of German and French were also there no shock or surprise there. We would go back and make sure you stay in hotel 2 as its full of English people when we were there.

The staff do not understand well and were sometimes rude. The food is good for adults but not a great deal for children. The location is nice and it is not a long drive from the airport.

You should definitely go all in there is a self service in hotel 2 and you can help yourself to beer, soft drinks, crips, ice cream etc...

This hotel has the makings of being one of the best Hotels I have ever been to, But it lets it's self down big style. We stayed at hotel 2 which was very busy.

We had the maid in everyday and the room was spotless. Cannot comment on the reception staff as I only dealt with them on arriving and they seemed nice enough.

The hotel was full of Spanish,Germans, you name it, everyone seemed to be there. The problem was everyone was more rude and ignorant than the other.

They made it clear that if you spoke English, you were a second class citizen. What made it worse the staff were even worse.

We went A/I and the bar staff seemed to look down at you. They spoke little English and were so rude and unhelpful it was unreal.

The hotel entertainment started at 10pm and you could never get a seat, and lasted 1hr, (Some good acts). Bar shut at 11:30pm and there was no way you could get another drink, But We did see some Spanish people getting a last drink about 11:50pm.

The pool area was always busy and we ended up going to the pool in hotel 3 which was nicer, cleaner and less busy. On first impression the Buffet looked excelent, but you soon realised that what was not used in the morning it was part of another dish in the afternoon and then the same at night.

The staff at the dining room looked like they didn't want to be there and again unhelpful. The Hotel location was good with only a short walk to the beach.

On the hole we did enjoy the holiday and didn't let things get to us. We never realy used of all vacilities that the hotel did offer, but that was through choice. There was a lot of extras that we knew about before we went as a friend had been there before. But First Choice nor the hotel will tell you about them.

If you are going to this hotel or planning to go, Please try and find out everything before you go, They are only small things like you can get beach towels in hotel 1 for 5E Deposit, change them as much as you want and get your money back when you are finished, Cocktails are on sale for 6E, are only 1E if A/L.
