We stayed at the Hotel Cala Font on a half board basis. The food was great for adults loads of variety, salmon, squid, spring rolls, ham of the bone, turkey, king prawns, goulash , loads of different pasta dishes & rice dishes, salad dishes, kebabs lots of fresh fruit, ice cream, rice pudding all served beautifully, with chips potatoes honestly the food was spot on, even breakfast of a morning they have everything you could want for a breky. The kids menu was limited really to sausage, chicken nuggets, beans, sausages & potato cakes. The deserts are beautiful to you couldnt ask for more than the hotel are offering.

Hotel was very clean, I was very impressed with the cleanliness of both the hotel reception, bar, & our room. Maids were in your room daily, we had our beds made every day the room cleaned & our towels changed, make sure to put your towels you want changing into the bath as they will only change what has been put in the bath. Hotel staff were ok, I have been to other countries were the hotel waiters have a laugh & a joke with you, I didnt see this here which was a shame really as I like to get to know waiters but there really was no sign of that in this hotel.

Entertainment in my opinion was poor, I saw very little entertainment in the hotel that I was particulary attracted to, this is not something to put you off tho as you can travel outside the hotel to get the entertainment you are looking for.

There is a strict rule in this hotel sun beds get chained together by the life guard until 10 oclock this saves people putting their towels on them & coming back later. Be prepared at 10 for lines of people waiting by sunbeds as this is what you have to do.

If you are thinking of going to Aquapolis for the day & you have children a little bit of advice go to Macdonalds in Salou for a happy meal & you get a free childrens ticket into the water park free with every full paying adult, its worth it, the ticket is placed in the happy meal box this offer is valid for the 2006 season.

Aquapolis is brilliant for the kids & adults it really is worth a trip, what annoyed me tho you pay to get in there & its not cheap but then you still get charged for your sun bed if you want one 4 Euros they are.

Port Aventura again is brilliant, we were advise to go to the night session thats from 7 till 12, its cooler & I think its a bit cheaper as well it costs us about 60 Euros for two adults & 1 child. The fireworks are fabulous at 12 midnight, I have never seen anything like them in my life it really was spectacular the display was superb.

We stayed at Cala Font for 1 week, we had a great time.

The hotel was very clean.

The food was good, although it wasn't labelled very well so you weren't sure what you was eating until you tried it!

Most of the staff were ok, the guy on the door of the restaurant was a bit of a misery though. The day we left we missed breakfast because we had to get the bus early, so we arranged that we could have a smaller "continental" breakfast before we left, mainly because we had 2 small children with us (ages 3 and 4), but when we went down for it, there was only either coffee or hot chocolate to drink. No milk, juice or even water for the kids and the only food was strange crackery-bread things in little packets, so we weren't very impressed with that! We had to buy a couple of bottles of water for the children to drink.

The entertainment was ok, there was a kids disco every night which was rather repetative, the children certainly enjoyed it though!

The only reason I would not stay at this hotel again is because of the beach. Having 2 kids with us we wanted to spend most of the holiday on the beach (or by the pool), the beach was dirty and very small so it got a bit cramped. I had to clean an small area of beach every day before I would let the children play in the sand because it was disgusting. Fag ends everywhere and lots of other things too! Dirty tissues, empty packets and bottle/cans. It's a shame the hotel doesn't employ someone to keep the beach clean.

We never managed to get around the pool because as soon as the chains were taken off the beds (10am) they were all taken within half an hour, most people just leaving their towels on them but not claiming them til later.

Port Aventura is only 20 mins away and definately worth visiting. We would definately go back to the Costa Duarada, but not Cap Salou.

We have just returned from this Hotel after 10 days. We loved it. We have 2 small children and the hotel and resort couldn't have been better.

The hotel is spotless, the maids were always working and it showed!

The hotel is only a short walk from Cap Salou centre which has a handful of restaurants and family bars and a fairground for small children.

It is located near a small cove, this was great for small children as the water was shallow and they could paddle safely. In fact, the whole resort felt safe for little ones.

We thought the food was lovely, plenty of variety. The children had their own section which was great. I agree the food was not always hot but there were microwaves on the side where you could warm the food up.

We would definitely return to this hotel, it is really geared towards families with smaller children and would have no hesitation in recommending it.

It is a relaxing holiday, the nightlife is just enough, but if you do enjoy lively nightlife you could always try neighbouring Salou!

Myself and my family stayed in this hotel for 1 wk on a half board basis. On arrival I was impressed with the hotels location.

I contacted the hotel via e mail to ask for a sea veiw which we sort of got as it was slightly obscured by a large stone canopy which was unfortunate.

The room was cleaned daily cannot fault the maid service the towels were changed daily and the beds made ect.

We hired a fridge for the week but shouldnt of botherd as it took two days for it to become slightly cold.

The food was not as good as I expected it to be as it was a bit bland and quite repetitive we mostly ate from the childrens menu.

The entertainment was very poor but the kids enjoyed it.

The pool was fantastic and the hotels position was spot on.
Most of the staff were welcoming and friendly.

Have just got back from the Cala Font Cap Salou. We had a fantastic time!

The hotel was sooo much nicer than I thought-really clean and fantastic location. The little beaches are lovely -just be careful of the slope walking down to them as it is quite a slant....gets you fit though!!!

The food is nice to look at - there's loads of it sometimes not all that nice and not overly warm but on the whole can't complain!!!!

Wery glad we stayed in Cap Salou rather than Salou - its only a 20 min walk away and easy to get to for nightlife and shops but the beach is very busy so it was nice to go there for entertainment and then go to our beach and chill.

Very nice and would defo recommend

We have just returned from two weeks at the Cala Font and we had a very relaxing time.

The hotel's location is great but would recommend asking for a sea view as some rooms look out onto the road behind or even below the road on the lower floors. Right on the beach.

Excellent for children with small pool and playground by the main pool. Poolside bar selling snacks, drinks and ice creams. Good supply of sunbeds but don't expect to get one until the lifeguard arrives at 10am! Lovely clean hotel, staff working all day. The reception staff were excellent, very good English spoken.

The food was always plentiful but not always hot. Nice enough but after the first week quite repetitive. Desserts were lovely!!

Would recommend hiring a fridge (payable at arrival)just to have cold drinks in your room. The tiled floors mean there is a lot of noise from the rooms above, especially at night.

The entertainment was very basic.

First impressions of the hotel were very good, and the fact we arrived at 9.30am and the weather was very hot made it all the more welcoming.

As we had arrived earlier than expected, our room was not ready, however reception assured us it would be available within the hour and it was.

Our room was on the second floor with wonderful sea and pool views, and instantly you could see how clean everything was. Our room was cleaned daily with no problems to report and the staff that we came in contact with were more than helpful.

The food was plentiful and varied, we did not have two meals the same, however one thing we did become aware of, was that over the bank holiday weekend whilst we were there the hotel became very busy and people did have to queue sometimes, althogh this did not affect us and the standards did not drop.

The entertainment however was not up to what we would have liked, but this was probably due to the fact the main holiday season had not yet started and the bulk of the holiday makers were elderly.

The location of the hotel was fine if you did not particularly want a large range of facilities, but there was a small selection of bars, restaurants within 100yards. the main town of Salou was approx 30 minutes walk along the coast alebeit a little bit hilly in the Cap Salou area.

Overall, an excellent hotel and we would definately stay here again.

The food at the Cala Font was tasty and plentiful if at some of the time not quite hot enough.

The hotel itself has got to be one of the cleanest I have ever stayed in,absolutely spotless.

You will struggle to find a better, more scenic location than this.the hotel staff were superb, nothing too much trouble and made us feel very welcome.

As for the entertainment, well you will never please everyone so I have got to say they all tried their best and they were enjoyed by the vast majority.

Will I go back, you can bet on it!

Couldn't fault the hotel apart from the entertainment it was absolute rubbish even the kids thought it was a joke, the food was great English & Spanish we enjoyed trying some of there food but then you cant go abroad & expect to eat all English.

The location is almost idealic with what seemed to be your own private beach.
The staff were freindly & helpful.

Don't be lead into thinking as we did that the hotel is in Salou, its in Cap Salou but its only a short bus ride away.
