Location
To avoid the long coach journey this operator offers we booked flights with Ryan Air. These were incredibly cheap as we made the reservations 10 months before departure.
On arrival we had a ten minute taxi ride (35 euros) to the camp site. Although we informed the operator when we would be arriving they was no one to meet us at the entrance. It was left to Sanguli

The camp itself was fantastic, very clean, friendly staff, 3 beautiful pool areas.
The entertainment was good the only thing I wish was that they had done more for the younger children ie a disco at the pool bar earlier on in the evening as the entertainment tended not to start until 10pm, which after a days swimming my little one was usually too tired to watch it.
There are 2 supermarkets on site, a pool bar serving snacks and a restaurant which was good quality food. The beach and promenade was just outside the camps entrance which was really nice.
Didn't like Salou at all but Cambrils was really beautiful. There is a train track at the entrance but it really doesn't interfere with the holiday at all.
In all we had a fantastic holiday and have booked to go again next year.

Theres also an astro turf pitch right next to one of them so the older ones can play football whilst you can keep an eye on them from the pool.
There was a very good entertainment programme although we didnt join in anything, and the shows at night were very good. Its a amassive site but doesnt get crowded as its very spacious. Our caravan was excellent and everything about this site was faultless.
I had read a few remarks about the railway but it doesnt affect the holiday in any way.

The reason I say suppose to have a stop over is because when we arrived we found that our SuperTent was placed at the top of an Hill, which was totally unacceptable as we found it very difficult to get around the camp with our daughter in her wheelchair as it is does not really cater for the disabled so I would advise any disabled traveller to avoid this camp unless they are either physically fit or they have a powerchair to get about.
After having some sleep in the afternoon we decided to set off for Salou at 8pm the drive through the Pyranees was fantastic although very scary at times as the roads are very narrow so beware if you are travelling this way down to Spain.
So finally we arrived at Camping Sanguli at 3.30pm the next day and was met by the security guards who where very helpful and pointed us to the Reception where went to check in and after this the security guard arranged for us to follow one of the staff in their golf carts to meet one of our reps, and although we notified the holiday company we travelled with that we had a daughter who is weelchair bound and cannot walk we found to our surprise that our Supertent was on top a hill. We asked the rep if they had any tents that was on the level she replied no we only have these, so being tired after our journey we decided to leave it ther, and if we went down to the beach we would use our van for transporting our daughter.
When going into the tent we noticed that on the face off it, it looked clean but my wife whom is a very hygenic person investigated a little further and to her suprise found that there was mouldy old bread behind the cooker and fridge we was disgusted, so my wife had to clean it up before she could let our daughter into the tent.
We were also placed next to the reps tent and if you looked at it you would have thought that the tent next door belonged to squatters it looked totally disgusting and looked this way for about a week, but they must have had someone from the head office visit because they started to clean around the tent removing dirty washing and towels from around it.
We could not fault the Sanguli staff who where very helpful.
One morning whilst having a coffee one our reps came and asked us if we had had any money or valuables within their safes because they had been broken into and everything had gone, this was a real shock what with the security patrolling the camp at night luckily we didnt put our valuables into the safes we took it with us everyday.
So the first week came and went and into the second week we went said goodbye to the people in the tent opposite who where very nice and to our amazement who should book into the tent but the dreaded (STUDENTS) whom where all in their twenties and I am sure I read in the brochure NO Singles can book holidays through this company but there they were shouting and making noises late at night drinking and playing cards outside their tent, keeping our two children awake. I am sure the security guards must have come to them on numerous ocassions to tell them to be quiet but by this time the wife had had enough and decided it was time we went home early so on the Wednesday we came home as I was losing my temper with these students and would have done something I would have regretted. I only hope when they grow up and have children some students make their lives hell.
Well after all that i don't think we will be returning to Sanguli until they STOP these holiday companies sending Singles & Students to the camp.

It seemed so big and the caravans were not spaced out enough for my liking plus the journey had made us all a bit negative etc., but on day two I realised what a great site it was. Our caravan was immaculate; the campsite was clean and tidy. It was across the road from the beach. Three lovely pools. We made friends with the Dutch neighbours next door.
The time we spent there just flew and in no time at all we were packing for our long trek home again. Anyway good news is we booked within a week of returning home to do it all again next year.

You won't get too many negative reports about this site. Loads for the kids to do, only across the road from the beach and a 5 minute bus ride to Portaventura theme park.
We have booked again for this August in the deluxe accommodation. Can't wait !!

The site itself was faultless, clean and tidy and in a good location. We never ate on-site but the restaurants looked good and fairly priced. The 2 shops were well stocked and the fresh bread from the bakeries was superb.
Swimming pools were well situated with very attentive life guards and the water aerobics at 5pm every day is a must, if only for a good laugh!! ALL the staff of Sanguli went out of their way to be pleasant and helpful and attended to your requests happily.
To be honest the location of Sanguli isn't perfect if you want to be in Salou all the time, but that didn't worry me as Salou isn't my cup of tea. The walk into Salou is easy enough, just a little bit long in such hot weather - we caught the regular bus from just outside the site at a cost of about 1 euro 10c. There is also a very busy train line running across the site entrance which again didn't worry me but might cause concern to people with small children.
There are plenty of bars and restaurants on 'the strip' which is just across the train line, something for everyone from English to Mexican, and lots of little gift shops too. The supermarket there is maybe a touch cheaper than the on-site ones and also sells the most delicious fresh cakes ever!! The beach there is nice too - in fact I found that little part of Salou to be the nicest.
All in all I was more than happy with everything about Sanguli, if you like lively places then this is the place for you. Just remember that they have a midnight noise curfew in place and they are very strict about it - security patrol enforce the rule. But it does mean you aren't disturbed by those who can sometimes be less than considerate ....

We booked direct with the site and stayed in a Tahiti Suite.
The site was spotless clean and had everything you could want.
The bakery was mmm. I didn't like salou itself but thought Cambrills was beautiful.
The swimming pools were lovely and such a short walk from our bungalow.
We were able to relax in the bar at night while our 5yr old went into the amphitheatre to the dancing.
We all enjoyed it immensly and will definetley return.

The location is nearer to cambrills end of salou and just out side the site is the beach which is nice and clean. On the prom there is a good selection of bars and cafes to choose from.
With being self catering the siesta staff told us about a good supermarket in the old part of salou on Barcelona street which is were all the locals go to do there shopping, and is a lot cheaper than the tourist supermarkets.
Universal port aventura is a must a fantastic day out for all the family. I had to put 3 for entertainment only because we went at the end of season and it is limited then but in the summer there is entertainment on everyday. We had such a good time that we have booked for 2005 but this time in July we cannot wait to go back.
