Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

The resort is lovely for families, lots of entertainment for singles, couples and families.
The beach was spotlessly clean, very hot you need to hire the canopy for the kids that come with the sunbeds, although it did cost 11 euros for the day, but worth it.
We went for the themepark for the children and would go back as its excellent. My advice is to buy the themepark tickets before you go as includes a day to Costa Caribe water park, the cheapest I found was teletext website.
The buses are cheap too 1.25 euro anywhere seems to be? we went in La Pineda for the friday market, nice quiet area, lovely beach.
We also went to Cambrills which has lovely shops and a port area, very pretty, bus again 1.25 euro.
The resort has a lovely train to take you around and goes back and fore the theme aprk, kids loved it, 8 euros for the 4 of us, not bad.

Salou is a perfect family resort with something for children of all ages. It has a wide range of restaurants - the more up market ones are near the harbour.
I would recommend a visit to the market which is every Monday in Salou and Wednesday in nearby Cambrils. We found some great bargains.
The beach is cleaned every day and was spotless. The beach has various slides, swings and play areas for children.
The main promenade and public showers and toilets were all clean and well maintained.

Salou was lovely and clean and the beach was beautiful, long, wide and sandy. There is a very long and wide prom with little parks for the children all the way along. The Marina end is quiet and more Spanish with the resort centre being very lively but starting to go commercial with McDonalds,Burger King etc.

Cap Salou, we felt, was in a quieter area than main Salou (A fact about which we were pleased). It was a pleasant, though slightly uphill walk into Salou, and also a walkable distance into La Pineda. I appeared to be clean and having several coves to choose from it made beach life pleasant. there were several bars in the area, so should you feel the need to leave the hotel, these were all within walking distance.

I would certainly go back to Salou again.
We could not find fault with it. Plenty of things to do both day and night. Port adventurer, water park, crazy golf etc in the day while nearly all the british pubs had entertainment on every night.
Chaplins bar is the only pub that has 2 lots of entertainment every night and is worth a visit for a great night out.
Uncle Sams American Diner and Sinatras (right opposite Mariposa Appts) is a must for food. Huge portions at very good prices, also enjoyed chinese buffett where you can eat as much as you want for just under £6.
The Beach is lovely and clean with plenty of sunbeds or room for you to lay out your towel.
Lots of places to get refreshments along the beach front when needed.

Salou itself is fantastic, guarantee there is something for everyone, there is so much entertainment and different restaurants to choose from in a relatively small place!
The theme park is a must as is both water parks, trip into barcelona, the markets, and the magic tap magic show is fantastic.
Beach was the nicest I have ever seen with lots to do, overall a great place with very nice people. ps. the sports bar where you pour your own beer is a must for any footie fan!

We visited on the Port Aventura Theme Park, on a few occasions, which was excellent, plenty to see and do. We also went to the Costa Caribe waterpark which was fantastic, plenty slides for all ages but some pool areas with playparks within for smaller children.
We had a fabulous day out on the Thomson's excursion to Barcelona Nou Camp Stadium and Barcelona Zoo. The guide on the bus was very informative along the way, pointing out many sights of interest. We would recommend this trip, especially the zoo.
We were made very welcome in the Double Scotch pub, the Irish Rover and Jimmey's bar which are all based near to the Calypso. We also ventured to Cap Salou were we also enjoyed a couple of nights out in the Clansman.
The only downfall to this holiday was that on our last day we went last minute shopping, where my wife had her purse stolen from her bag. . . .the purse was inside the bag which had an outside zip and another compartment with a further zip. There were four adults and three kids in our company at the time and no-one saw anything. I would advise anyone visting this resort to be very very vigilant, as we heard of a few other people to which this had happened too.
All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would visit Salou again.

Salou overall was a great place, me and the missus had a smashing time. Loads of good pubs, best being Chaplins. For food there was many quality establishments to choose from but Uncle Sams Diner was the best. Had fun at Port Aventura, Dragan Khan is brilliant and I got to meet Chilli willy. Yep, I'd go again!

The resort of salou is very clean but also a busy city with a busy main road running through the centre.
There were probably 5 shops to every bar, good for shopping not so good for a night out.
The beaches are excellent but very large and busy, if you wanted a quieter beach I recommend a short bus ride to Cap Salou where the beach is smaller and less crowded.
I would also recommend going to a small bar called Linda's bar which does really nice food quite cheaply. it is really clean and friendly.
I would probably not visit this resort again purely based on the fact that it was quite expensive.
