The hotel was not a four star, in my opinion not even a one.

The food was the worst food ever on holiday , it seemed what was left over one day was re-served the next day with a differant topping. We were forced to eat out on at least 4 or 5 occasions taking a taxi to the main town.

Our party was nine persons age ranging from two years to eighty two years, none of us enjoyed the holiday. The all inclusive package was not,no gin no vodka no cocktails only watered down beer, wine ,if it was wine. Hotel was cold and lifts were unreliable.

The hotel cleanliness was very poor. The toilets near the reception area smelt badly, the seats were broken, urine on the floor and used sanitary towels just thrown in the corner. When i reported the situation to the reception staff they just grunted and walked away.

Staff were rude. Torn bed linen. Carpets frayed and dangerous especially for the children and elderly. Childrens play area unsafe, broken equipment.

The service at the bar was very bad ,if you were an all-inclusive guest the bar staff did not want to serve you. In fact, they would try to ignore you. The only way to get served was to voice your opinion.

New years eve was a total disaster-with two young children we asked if their food could be served a little earlier
we sat down at 8 but at 9.30 the kids food still had not arrived we had asked three times ,we walked out in the end totally disgusted. One of the managers thought this was acceptable when i brought this to his attention we certainly did not.

The reception would not allow the guests to fill in the complaints book always giving excuses to why it was not available.we spent just under four hundred pounds on trips in a week, but the rep would not take a credit card only cash?? why??

Our complaints are endless plus I am getting fed up of writing about them the moral of this is dont go to Hammmemet Gardens for your holiday - the end.

We have put in a letter of complaint to the hotel, Med hotels head office and Travel Now.

We have just returned from a week at the Sahara beach, 7-14 November and we loved it. I was a little apprehensive as there is some bad feedback about the hotel, and until we had kids (now ages 2&4) we only stayed in 5* hotels, so a 3* was a new experience for us. But it turned out well.

The reasons we chose this hotel were that Tunisia is only a two and a half hour flight from London. The hotel is 5 minutes from the airport (but not on the flight path). It's on the beach, it has interconnecting rooms for no extra cost, an indoor pool, a kids club and it's very cheap for all inclusive. For a family, it

We stayed at the Hammamet Garden on an all-inclusive basis. The food was adequate in the restaurant, but a bit like school-dinners. The all-inclusive drink servings are tiny, and the way around this is to order a double round at least, otherwise you end up queuing most of the time. The waiters in the restaurant look after you if you pay them a few dinars. Then your drinks are doubled in size! But otherwise they are not interested in the all-inclusive customers because they don't receive tips. I liked the communal areas of the hotel. The swimming pools were marvellous and kept very clean. There is plenty of sun loungers, but couldn't say about high season, when there may be a scramble. Rooms were basically furnished, but perfectly adequate. Cleaning appeared to be scrupulous on a daily basis. Gym very outdated and knocked about.

In a word, dreadful. Lastminute.com has some nerve advertising this hotel as 4 star, when in fact this is a crumbling 3 star.

When my friend and I saw the first room we were given (dirty, smelly, small) we refused it and marched back to reception. After 10 minutes they came up with keys to a slightly better room which we accepted.

A closer look at the hotel brought up these sore points; dirty carpets, bad bad bad food, crumbling tiles, cockroaches and a family of eight feral cats who roam about freely - including the hotel kitchen!

My friend and I cornered the hotel owner - Jamilar, and we spoke to him at length about the state of the hotel. He admitted that improvements needed to be made but couldn't quite accept that a complete overhaul was required and started to get quite agitated and shouty.

If we were able to speak to him, why can't Thomas Cook, Med Hotels, Last Minute, Going Places and all the other holiday companies? They need to talk to him about the state of his wretched hotel and pull his hotel from their brochures. They are pocketing hundreds of thousands of pounds of holidaymaker

No, no, no, no don't go to this hotel, not a good hotel to go to as the rooms are dirty, the food was bad, hotel staff would not help or they was trying to chat you up,

The entertainment staff were always being rude to people, and the man who own the hotel was ringing your room trying to get you to go to his room.

As for the man who had the shop Sami he was a nightmare he would always be asking you to go for a drink or trying to get you to go to hotel room with him, not good. It was really bad and no-one cares.

The hotel was fantastic, the staff were really frindly and couldn't do enough for you. The food was really nice always hot and different each night. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel and the roses on the bed each morning was beautiful. The entertainment was brilliant also each the animation team would get you to join in activities and the dancing and sketches at night were really entertaining. The location i thought was fine there were shops, it was next to the beach there cafes discos near by i felt really comfortable and safe would definatley visit again next year!

This Hotel should be closed down. The Hotel is dirty . The hotel is rated as a 4* hotel. This is not so. We were suposed to be there for 16 days holiday. I refused to unpack.

The hotel rooms were dirty the bed linen stained. The Hotel Food inedible.

The hotel staff un helpfull and rude. The pool had broken tiles at the bottom.

A frightening experience. Thank goodness our rep could move us!

My friend and I were very disappointed in this hotel.

The hotel food was absolutely awful, even the entertainment guys and the Thomas Cook Rep didn't eat in the hotel due to its poor quality. Even the All Inclusive restaurant was no better!

The hotel is now owned by a Tunisian family (they took over from a German Co.) The restaurant does not cater for British unless you make a personal food request every day which mainly consists of EGGS!!! They cater mainly for Italians. Vegetarians steer clear.

This hotel is clearly not a 4 star! The pool is beautiful but the normal "towels on the sunbeds at the crack of dawn" is routine!

I would not go back to this hotel or this part of Hammamet again. This was my 4th visit to Tunisia and the worst.

Many British clients will be complaining to Thomas Cook on their arrival back home.
