We stayed in the Hammamet village side of the complex it was ideal for us the fridge was essential for bottles of water and milk for our daughters bottle. The rooms were very clean and of a good size there was plenty of room for 2 toddlers an eleven year old and two adults without falling over each other. All the staff were very friendly and helpful especially the cleaner for our room and our waiter.

The location was fairly good it was only a short walk to the beach but we found we didn't really need to go anywhere as there was enough to keep everyone happy on site.

The entertainment provided by the Airtours staff was great. Della and Lauren were really good at all aspects they were a lot of fun. We had a great time joining in all the daytime activities and our children loved the mini disco . Our son Joseph keeps asking if he can go back to see Della.

We would have loved to go back to this hotel but as there will be no entertainment provided by Airtours from the end of the season it might be too quiet and different for us.

we have recently returned from a 2 week holiday in Le Saphir hotel....I already want to return next year!...fabulous for everyone in our family, service, cleanliness, (I am very fussy too!!), food, entertainment were great. The Tunisian people were gracious and freindly...the room maid service was lovely...beautifully cleaned everyday.Reception staff always helpful and waiters freindly and polite. We felt safe at all times whilst outside the hotel, and with a 3Dinar( about one pounds forty pence) taxi trip to the resrts of Hammamet, or Hammamet Yasmine.....the location was fabulous....and a beautiful beach a short walk across road...our holiday couldn't have been better located.Tunisia was a delight to visit....I shall return again....and again...!!!

Just returned from our holiday at saphir hotel, had a great time, could have done with staying a little longer than seven days. it took a couple of days to get into the swing of things, i didnt like the hotel at first, i thought it was tired and needed a facelift, a coat of white paint dont fix everything. The food was ok,not much choice, i didnt know there was so many recepies for an egg at breakfast time !! the location of the hotel was a bit out of the way, but taxi's are very cheap (hold on tight), i personally didnt like the hotel staff, they never smiled, especially the bar staff, but there again i didnt mix or have a conversation with any.i just ordered my drinks etc.Thankyou to della leanne and jonno not forgetting mohammed for putting on excellent entertainment, they worked so hard, dont think much to the entertainer, he needs pushing in the pool more often.

Bedrooms in the Saphir need a refurbishment and were quite basic but they did have air conditioning which was very welcome because of the heat outside.
They were spotless and we had a lovely lady who cleaned the rooms everyday and delivered Fresh towels.

The Saphir has two pools, one large and a baby pool which was great for my kids as we were able two put the two children in the pool and they were quite safe.

I found the food in the Hotel very nice and I was worried because I have a very fussy 5 year old who will only eat certain things but she was able to eat something every night as they have buffet style dining.

The snack bar during the day supplies great food, the pizzas were excellent.
We upgraded after three days to all inclusive as it worked out much cheaper than half board
one downfall was that you could not get snacks after 6.00pm but we would get filled rolls about 5.30pm and keep them in our rooms so that after the entertainment at night we would still have something to eat later.

The Hotel was outside Hammamet so you would have to travel in by taxi which was very cheap but there are a few fixed priced shops within walking distance from the Hotel so you could get Souvenirs etc without the hassle of haggling!!!!

From the back of the Hotel you can walk to the beach which is lovely, there is a cafe called the Sundrenched cafe which sells lovely food and is very friendly.

I found the Hotel staff extremely Friendly and they are very fond of children
I also felt that the Hotel was very safe for children
The entertainment was excellent.
Jonno(Now left),della and Lauren did the day/evening entertainment and Leigh ann and lucy did kids club.

There was also Volleyball, water polo, water aerobics during the day if you wanted to participate. There is also Mohammed that does the Bingo at night and his catchphrase"Shake your ballsaaaaaa!!" will go with me to my grave.

A new entertainer was just taking over before we left called Michael age 53 and I think that the entertainment will probably go downhill as he did not seem to know what he was doing and got booed of the stage. However it was very funny.

I would certainly visit this Hotel again as I found it value for Money , the weather was glorious and we met really nice people who helped to make it a holiday to remember.

The reception was spotless with comfy seating, however the reception staff were less than welcoming. We were given room 316 which only had a window, no balcony.

There are no lifts in the hotel. We asked three times to be moved and were finally allocated a room on ground floor with terrace.

The animation team worked hard to involve everyone with daytime activities. However, the music around the pool was blasting out all afternoon resulting in me retreating to my room with a headache. Also on two occasions songs with foul language were played during the day and we had to complain.

The food was disgusting, prison like food. No variety, slops open to flies. All inclusive had no service or standards.

Always running out of cups and cutlery. Tables were never replenished for next guests. Small plastic tumblers were offered for all inclusive drinks, one per person per visit to bar with no ice offered, warm and watered down. Only go half board or you'll starve or avoid altogether.

Absolutely dreadful. From the moment we got into the hotel we were pestered by the bell boys for money and constantly hounded by a photographer. The staff were rude and aggressive and the food was dreadful. The room was dirty and overlooked a building site.

Me and my husband actually considered leaving but when we tried to contact a rep we had no joy. The entertainment was moderate, good fun for kids and good for adults if you enjoy quizzes. Other than that it was boring. There were cats crawling over the pool area and dead ones lining the streets outside.

I would advise anyone to steer well clear of this hotel/resort, since the hotel was rubbish and the surrounding area was just a complete building site, no amenities nothing.

Firstly hi to Steve n family from Grangemouth who were there when we were!! Its Paul here..(windy) the tall blonde one in the Mr Saphir competition!!

If you have booked the Hammamet village which is the sister hotel to Le Saphir and in same grounds like i did then you get a fridge!! which was a godsent..dont drink water from tap..you must get bottled water for everything except showers!!

There are no brew facilities in any of the room in either complex so suggest you take a travel kettle and essentials.

We were surprised how little insect activity there is ( or wasnt as the case might be) There are loads of baby ghekkos abut or baby dragon type things..they are gorgeous..they come out at twilight and you will see them on walls and ceilings outside.

We saw only 3 birds all week..a coot tpe bird, a black bird and a sparrow!!

There were very few flies or wasps about so dont fret. And only heard of 2 people who got mozzie bites. ohh we saw a massive cockroach..like them ones on Im a Celebrity..get me out of here!!

If you buy mixers n stuff to take back to hotel then hide them past reception..they take great exception to you doing this..if on half board like we were they would rather you paid for everything on site which is not cheap..they use a voucher system and you pay 1 voucher for a kids cola same as adults but they only get 1/2 a cup..

If your all inclusive then dont expect it to be like Spain...the drinks dont start till 1100am and the choice of drinks/snacks is limited. There is no ice cream included for the kids either as the owner is too tight to buy any..though you can buy them from the onsite shop.

The food is of a good standard, though you will struggle to have a substantial breakfast due to the fact you cant have bacon or toast!!!
only choice of 2 cereals then there was eggs,,,eggs and eggs..tomatoes fries etc..and plenty of fresh fruit...the evening meal was excellent with beef and chicken that melts in your mouth..everything is fresh..frozen food is relatively new so little around...things will taste different than youre used to, but you will enjoy meals..the sweet dishes are to die for!!

The entertainment staff are a great laff and work hard..you must join in to make it worth while...Della, Jonno and Lauren are English reps who with Mohammed, a local , they provide a great selection of fun activities from boules and water volleyball to shows and quizzes every night and bingo!..mention "Windy" to them and they will know who I am...say hello to them for me especially Jonno and Mohammed...he is a diamond..his favourite english word is "innit". You can do water areobics at 1000-1030 in morning which is great fun and then about every half hour after that there is something on. The kids club is great if you have paid the upgrade to holiday plus.

We had 7 days of glorious sunshine and it was extremely hot..never a cloud in the sky and spent most of our time on the complex around and in the pools. If you use the Hammamet village side then look out for Salam..the old man in white coat..he will look after your every need and supply you with brolley.cushions the lot all for free. He is a marvelous old bloke.
All the staff are great and love to talk..they are very poorly paid they get about 170 dinahs a month..which is less than

We all came back from this hotel on the 10th july 2004.
We were here for 2 weeks and had a fab time.
First week we were there was only around 40 of us in the hotel as apparently there was a dispute going on with travel companies. This was brill as we had pool, staff and resturant to ourself, could get up at any time of the day and still get a lounger with brolly at the pool.
Maids were great rooms cleaned and sheets cleaned daily , whatever time of day you left room they always came back.
Rooms were very basic but large we had a one bedroom ground floor apartment with cooker fridge lounge and sitting room .
We booked half board and upgraded to all inclusive when we arrived and saved a good few hundred ..

Hi if you are looking for a holiday then heres the place, these are a few things about the hotel:if u go all inclusive then it's like a dream holiday, the food is exellent and guess what? its ALL U CAN EAT!!!.
the hotel cleanliness is exellent apart from the odd left stains on the foor but other than that it is exellent.food well ive already told u taht one.the hotel locatoin was perfect, the beach was 3-4 mins away from the complex and there are local shops that have fixed prices.hotel staff is exellent, when ever u want something they will get it straight away.if u are looking for a particular waiter then pick fish food,it might be a stupid name but it's his nickname,he's always got a smile on his face.entertainment was superb, there was johnno, lauren,
della, and there was childrens club staff but i can not remember them.jhonno was superb for entertainment he sang solo and does alot of silly thing's with the kids.the day time activity's are exellent for all the family.i would definatley visit this hotel again and i would put a bet on IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we stayed in le sapphir it was brill ! very clean , the staff very friendly ,couldnt do enough for you, entertainment was fantastic watch out for johnno doing his robbie williams caberet
airtours reps on hand all the time and nothing was too much trouble for them
all inclusive was good but drinks were a little limited it would have been nice to have drinks from say 10.00am instead of 11.00am as once breakfast is over at 9.30am you can,t get any soft drinks tea, coffee or even alchohol
fantastically clean we tipped the room service for being so clean
location is good and you can get about really cheaply in a taxi
we would definateley recommend the hotel and would certainly go back
you always get the odd ones who think its rubbish but your holiday is what you make it , my only regret is that i had one week and not two!!
