Location
The hotel was generally quite good and was probably a 5 star at some time but not at the present. There were 4/5 star standards with free sunbeds, mattresses and beach towels, bath robes in the bedroom and the sheets were changes every day.
Our main disappointment were the bedrooms. Whilst quite large and very clean they we did not consider them up to 4 star superior/5 star standards. They were generally very tired. The carpets were a bit stained, the toilet and bathroom were showing their age and the bedroom furniture was a bit creaky.
The food was really quite good although, in our view, more directed towards eastern european standards. There were quite a lot of Russian and eastern european guests. However if you did not like the main items of food there was a good range of salads, hot prepared food (eg fresh stir fry food) that you could feed up on.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The location of the hotel is really good. Situated right on the beach with own dedicated beach area with free furniture and parasols - gets very busy obviously - and either a 30 to 45 minute walk along the beach or road to Port El Kantaoui. Instead of walking a taxi will cost you 3 to 4 Dinar (

Excellent choice of food, waiters very friendly and efficient, always a cheery greeting made us feel very welcome.
Gala evening in a la carte restaurant good value with five course meal and entertainment including belly dancing.
Sunbeds with matresses and free towels always available. For a couple of dinar the towelman prepares your bed for you every morning in your favourite spot.
Grounds beautiful and relaxing, right onto very clean private beach.
Doormen always very friendly and willing to call a taxi for you.
One warning if you wear football shirts they will want them as gifts. My husband ended up parting with two!
Evening entertainment mainly in the piano bar, very lowkey but enjoyable. Don't beleive reports that you can't buy alcohol as wines, beers and spirits readily available
Rooms spotlessly cleaned everyday.
Very sad to leave, can't wait to return.

The best thing about the hotel is definitely the friendliness and professionalism of its staff, they really do bend over backwards to help make your stay comfortable - though this was reflected in pretty much every restaurant and shop we ever went in - Tunisian people are clearly very warm-hearted.
The hotel rooms are fairly large, yet perhaps could do with a bit of an overhaul in terms of decor. Other than that, everything worked fine, cannot complain at all. There certainly is a mini-bar in the little fridge which is restocked should you decide to take any of the drinks, and there's an excellent quick room service with the ridiculously cheap wines brought rapidly to your room (had to wait so long in certain British hotels!)
The location of the hotel is good if you fancy the quick walk down to the excellent beach area in front of the hotel, however if you're wanting ease of access to PEK itself then its a bit of a long stroll along the beach, or hop in a taxi (don't worry they'll come to you!!!) for around 3-4Dinars depending on which driver you get.
The reason the entertainment gets a 1 is really that its more amusing than 'entertaining'. The piano player reminded me of the club singer from Only Fools and Horses who can't pwonounce his 'r's!!!
The hotel helped make this holiday a memorable one, though to be fair coming to Tunisia it should be more about the places you visit and things you do than about pools and pianos!

Rooms spacious with good sea and pool views. TV, hairdryer, bath robes, air con or central heating, mini bar/fridge and cleaned every day.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Food very good with wide selection of cold buffet, Al La Carte, sweets and fruits.
Entertainment not up to much and practically non existent.
Definitely recommend this hotel - it is the only one to stay in our mind.

Food is very much under the French influence which is so apparent in Tunisia, and is excellently prepared and presented with a wide variety of choice.
Rooms are spacious and satisfactorily maintained. We had a problem with a blocked sink but it was soon rectified with a minimum of inconvenience.
The hotel is approx 3 km from Port El Kantaoui and it is the very last to be serviced by the coaches from the airport. We recommend you take a taxi from the airport which cost us 30 dinars (50% lower before 9pm).
This was our 2nd visit and noticed that the hotel is being refurbished, with the hotel corridors newly carpeted.
The pool area is spacious with free towels and sunbeds.
Staff are very welcoming and genuinely remember you from previous visits. The restaurant staff are very attentive to your wishes without being intrusive. All staff are highly efficient.
Entertainment is, well, minimal with a "group" most evenings and a weekly folklore night. This was OK with us, though, but those wanting more will not find it at this hotel at this time of year.
Overall this is a wonderful hotel for a relaxing break and we shall certainly visit it again.

The entrance when you arrive is really impressive and there is a cash machine in the reception area. Safety deposit boxes are also available.
The rooms are quite spacious and cleaned every day. We were allocated a room which had 3 single beds but we spoke to reception and they changed us the next day.
The food is superb especially the restaurant.
The staff was outstanding the head barman rented a car on his day off and took us all over and bartered for us! This was the best day.
The pool area indoor and out could not be faulted.
Entertainment is quite just as we like it.
If you want the entertainment look at Sousse!!
We would definitely visit this hotel again.

The hotel is incredible (a miniature palace), impeccably clean, on a gorgeous white sandy beach within a mile of PEK and with staff of the highest calibre (friendly and unassuming).
Food was a mixture of Buffet and Waiter Service (great pancakes for breakfast).
Entertainment was a little staid but better than the Butlins type Bingo at the Kenz.
All in all a fantastic holiday we can't wait to go back to Imperial Maharba

The hotel was spotless and the rooms were cleaned everyday, a couple of times we put the do not disturb sign out and we still got a phone call to our room from the wee cleaner wanting to clean our room bless her. We were on our 1st wedding anniversary and she scattered rose petals over our bed and gave us a single red rose which was a nice touch, she was lovely!!!
The food was brilliant and so much to choose from the waiters are so nice they always have a smile for you and never let you pass without asking how you are. They like to do everything for you like pouring your drinks and pulling your chair out for you to be seated. They really bend over backwards to please you.
The hotel is a short taxi ride to the marina, we found the hotel location ideal, nice and quiet they way we liked it.
The hotel staff were all totally brilliant much better than we were expecting, again they all bent over backwards to please you in everyway.
The entertainment was really great, a band played a couple of nights, the piano bar was really lovely and cosy. They had a karaoke in the piano bar while we were there it was good fun, also belly dancers were really good too just the right amount of entertainment for us.
This was a fab holiday and we will definitely be returning for another holiday.

The facilities in the hotel were really good, the indoor pool with Jacuzzi was brilliant. The outdoor pools are also very good and clean, however, do not expect a peaceful day by the pool!
The Itailian tour operators have arranged poolside entertainment for their guests without any concideration for other nationalities. The club is called Animation and starts at around 10am and goes on till approximately 12.30pm. The group members carry their stereo equipment down to the pool along with a 1000watt speaker and proceed to make absolute fools of themseves, the British tourists fondly named them the Divi Club and talked about throwing the blonde girl in the pool! I understand that quite a lot of complaints were registered with the hotel and the music was finally turned down.
The hotel entertainment was ok though again very Repetitious. The piano bar was really good, we did enjoy having a quiet drink there, though the piano player wasn't a very good singer!
The beach was very nice, white sand, but unfortunately like other holiday resorts the smokers amongst us used it as an gigantic ash tray! Also the water sports and parascending were far too close to the beach and I can tell you it is very disconcerting having parascenders Continuously hovering above your head. The guys on the Jetskis were also a problem, all you can hear is jetskis everywhere and the smell of twostroke petrol.
Port El Kantaoui was a fantastic place, epecially of an evening time and is well worth a visit.
I would certainly recommend this hotel and urge anyone who has any doubts to go and give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

The staff are very helpful and pleasant.
Dressing gown, slippers and fruit in room on arrival, very nice and unexpected.
A la carte restaurant recommended.
Piano bar quiet.
Lobby bar was nice to sit in and watch the older people dancing in the evening.
