Location
Food plentiful and good variety. Staff very friendly. Continuous cleaning going on. As older people the animation entertainment was not for us but it was not intrusive at all.
We went to a couple of shows and they were quite good. We wanted a quiet, realxing holiday and that is what we got, we strolled along the beach most days.
We would go again without hesitation, probably late season as it would probably be too busy for us in high season.

I was very disappointed with the food only because we were all vegetarians. There was not much to choose from. We had to live on pizza and chips. Plenty of salads though.
Location of the hotel was central, only 10mins away from the airport. Staff were very friendly.
Entertainment was ok not much choice though.
The only reason why I would not visit the hotel is because of the lack of vegetarian food. The children really enjoyed the water park that is based in the hotel.

The 3 star rating is correct - don't expect top notch luxury, but we felt that the whole holiday was good value for money. I'd recommend the Houda to anyone who wants an all inclusive at a reasonable price.
The weather in late October was perfect - I think it could be a bit hot in high season!

It was very clean in the public areas and the room was always clean. My husband, 2 teenage daughters (16 and 13 years) and I went on holiday with my sister and her husband. We were allocated a suite of rooms, which was a hallway and 3 bedrooms, 2 with bathrooms, it was very nice. We looked out over the indoor pool and had a seaview.
The hotel is right on the beach which was lovely, but there was nothing around, except more hotels and a shop down the road. We took the bus into Monastir, which was quite an experience!! We got 2 taxi's back which cost 2 dinars each person. I must admit, I didn't enjoy shopping in the Medina, as we were hassled quite a bit, but we went in the fixed price shop, and bought a few souvenirs.
The food was very good, and we always found something to eat at each meal. The only downside were the queues, but we learnt to go in a bit later than our allocated time and the queues weren't so bad. We even went and got food from the restaurant and sat by the pool and ate it. while we were there, it was my husband's birthday, and he had a cake brought to the table and the waiters sang happy birthday to him.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The entertainment team tried there best to, and during the day there was archery, water polo, darts and water aerobics. We didn't go to watch the entertainment in the evening, as it was in the disco, and it was quite hot in there. We were happy to sit by the bar area and chat and play cards etc.
We would definitely go to this hotel in the near future, as it was very good value for money.

Everything was clean and tidy, the pool area was massive with plenty of activities being organised for us to do.
On the whole it was a great holiday and if I came to Tunisia again I would stay here.

The room was very clean, no cockroaches to be seen. The food was not bad although, we did have a few days where we had upset stomachs. I don't actually think it was the food though.
The pools were good and clean and the beach was lovely. The only thing about the complex is that there is nothing much round about and therefore confined to the complex.
I would ask you to take notice of the room you are allocated.
We were in room 603, which was right above the night club and this started at 11.00 pm to 2.00 am and was very noisy.

Reception staff are friendly. The food is gorgeous, plenty choice, very very well cooked, piping hot. It is all self service. The sweets are to die for. You can eat TWICE out in the week where is is al a caret, once in the Medina where you have a an authentic Tunisian meal chose from a menu, it is waiter service and candle lit. You also make a date to eat at Toscana restuarant, again al a carte waiter service this is an Itilian meal.
You book your chosen dates and times in the foyer between 10-11am every day.
The hotel rooms are basic but clean and spacious, I had a lovely sea view, others had views of the gardens, we were all happy. The location is ok, Skanes is made up just of hotels although across the road at the back a supermarket is being built at the moment, it is too far away that there is any noise or dust. The hotel has its own private beach, so you dont have to pay for the sunbeds or grass sunshades.
Sellers are on the beach selling cigs, camels, jewellery, rugs and fruit, but if you say no thanks they dont hassle you. The sea is a funny colour like khaki, but it is lovely and warm and you can wade quite a way out. On some days there was seaweed but it wasnt there every day.
You can book quite a lot of trips out at the hotel, like a camel trip which was really good, it cost 30 dinars each (about

Our room was in the main part of the hotel on the first floor. The room itself was of a good size and clean, although a little basic.
The corridors are a little shabby and need better lighting in places.
There were maids cleaning the rooms and other parts of the hotel all day.
I have read some of the reports about the food and feel I have to put the record straight, as this is where most of the criticism seems to be directed. We always found something to each at each meal time and it was always well cooked through and tasty - neither of us suffered from any bugs or saw any evidence of flies.
The location of the hotel is excellent in that the transfer from the airport only takes 10 minutes - we didn't really venture too far from the gates so cannot comment on the surrounding area.
We visited at the end of September and so the hotel was probably less busy than in the summer holidays and this was ideal for us - the waterpark was still busy with children we felt it was a good idea to build this away from the main hotel.
On the negative side the entertainment was awful, although again this was away from the main hotel as it was in the waterpark area and so it didn't bother us too much.

You could have as many drinks as you liked and it wasn't just the local rubbish, it was any spirits and beers. You could get as many bottles of water as you liked both still and sparkling and as many soft drinks for the kids. The food was good, my kids are a bit fussy but they really ate well. You could have as much pizza, chips or snacks from 11 am until 5pm and then again at 11pm til midnight.
The staff in the hotel were the most friendly people I have met, they made a point of learning your name and remembering it. Nothing was a problem for them. My daughter is only 20 mths old and had bottles of cold milk, they were happy to give me as many bottles as we needed for nothing.
The location of the hotel was really good, especially if you have small children. It is only approx 15 mins from Airport and really quite central to Sousse, Monistir and Port el Kantouie. Cheap in taxis and there are plenty of them waiting for you.
I have to say though the entertainment wasn't brilliant but was okay. The staff really did try though to make it as good as they could - they really have loads of energy and enthusiasm.
I would definately visit this hotel again, it was our honeymoon and it was very special. The hotel was extremely clean and tidy and the pools were always immaculate.

We had a great room and to take part in any trips/activities/water sports was very cheap.
The people are all very friendly and try their best for you
The food was however awful unless you can live on chips.
The entertainment only began to improve towards the end, and it was just very monotonous as you are so remote.
