We went to the Sahara beach 3 times in the last 11 years and we loved it. The hotel was very clean. Entertainment staff was good. If you wanted a sunbed you will need to get up early to beat the Germans.
Our waiter we had done the table out for my birthday and sang happy birthday to me in English.
I will be going back there next year.

Cleanliness : Everything cleaned regularly. Pool and surrounds spotless (at start of day, anyway)
Food : Good range of choices.
Location : V. Close to airport, good transport to other resorts.
Staff : Couldn't have been any more helpful.
Entertainment : Really was something for everyone over the course of the fortnight. Some nights didn't appeal to myself, or others in the group, but there's plenty of other bars for a quiet drink, game of cards, or whatever.

Over the last twenty years we have stayed at this hotel a total of eight times, not because of price, purely because I love the culture = people = the effort the staff put into being as friendly possible.
Considering the unfriendliness from unsociable people and behaviour of ignorent attitudes, I strongly suggest people read up on different counries life style's and cultures before making idiot fools of themselves, and there ridicoulas comments open for the world to see.
I have been to many countries and I read before I go.

This was our second visit to Tunisia and this hotel surpassed our expectations after reading the negative feedback reviews. The grounds and the pools and the hotel were excellent.
The staff were friendly and the cleanliness was extremely high. The card system worked well as one person could go to the bar with all cards and get all the drinks at once rather than everyone having to queue to show a wristband. As for the food we had one member of our party who is very fussy however there was a wide selection of food available.
The only downfall was breakfast as we like an English breakfast rather than continental but this was no different to our last visit, we still managed to find something so not a problem.
The location of the hotel is a little too far from the main towns especially if you want to go out and about yourself also the taxis that come to the hotel try to charge you too much and they know they can because you are otherwise stuck.
The indoor pool was huge and the hotel has tried to cater for every need eg.the zoo, horseriding (it has its own stables and the horses are really well looked after).
The entertainment was very good as they do not spend each night making you the entertainment rather than doing there own. There was activities for all to take part in if you wanted to but if you didnt you wouldnt be pestered to take part.
We found all the staff friendly and helpfull throughout our stay. As for the little flies what do you expect in a hot country? The flies here are much bigger and at least you havent got wasps to worry about!
We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 weeks stay at this hotel and would recommend it and as for 3 star plus thats exactly what it is not 5 star and you havent paid 5 star prices.

i have just returned from the sahara beach hotel on sunday. had a great time although the thing that annoyed us were the way in which you had to get your drinks and snacks. we were all inclusive which we allways do yet the system for ordering is bad. you have to line up at the 'all inclusive' end of the bar and show a plastic card with your name and age!!!! on and then sign the recipt.you are only allowed one drink per trip to the bar,it is really annoying.ps watch out for people pushing in front of you, it is really really common.the trouble with the system is that we got treated like second class citizens just we paid upfront for our holiday, the half board lot got a better treatment we found.the beach is great, but if you havent put your towel out by about 9am forget about getting a sun bed.we love tunisia though and none of this really put us off,be prepaired to barter, expect to pay about half of what they want.there is a little cave store in sousse down one of the alleys which is great, you dont have to barter because it is all price tagged.we went on the mopeds outside the front of the hotel all the way to sousse, monister and sahline, that costs 10.00 tds (5.00)for an hour-great value.just remember to eat a lot for your evening meal to fill you up because breakfast is awfull(boiled sausages, turkey in gravy and samolina),although you can have just plain toast and croissants if you want.the evening meals are nice and you can get snacks by the pool (if you like pizza )you'll know what i mean when you get there!!!!

We visited the Sahara Beach Hotel a couple of weeks ago and spent two weeks there. Whatever kind of holiday it is you like this hotel is suitable. There are activities all day long for both adults and children. The animation team work hard all day long to keep everyone happy and at night time they continue with their good work. Although some people complained that the evening shows were not that great, you have to take into account that the entertainment team have to organise everything all day long. There is a nightclub at the hotel for over 16 year olds, it is worth a visit!!! The animation team at this hotel are great, watch out for Mido he is the best!!!

I had the misfortune of having to spend a day at this hotel following a 10 hour flight delay. It was truly awful, flies everywhere, food poisoning after one meal, dirty, no non-smoking areas, just clouds of thick smoke everywhere. Guests were herded about like cattle and there was no space anywhere around the pools, people even had towels and sunbeds on the footpaths. I could not wait to get out, the staff were very short tempered and flippant and very unhelpful. It was a complete contrast to the the Iberostar Phenicia Hotel I had stayed in whilst in Hammamet which was superb. There was a rousing cheer of applause when we were all told we were off to wait at the airport. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

were do i start about this very big ,and great hotel.if you want to sit by the pool ,and tan do so .if you want a lot of activity it is there.the hotel have employed people to make your stay there as lively as you want it ,or as quiet as you want it.the food is the best i have ever tasted, and so much to choose from.i went with my wife ,and 2 children aged 13,and 11,and they said it was one of there best holidays at this hotel they have ever had . the rooms were cleaned every day.the waiters specialy our personal waiter (amara) made our stay at the sahara beach very special.the entertainment was very good, and they worked very hard.if you like a good pint you will like there locol beer celsia.the rooms are about average size.but very clean.(we had interconnecting rooms with sea view)the only down fall i can say about the hotel is the miserable man who worked in the sahara beach hotel bank.if you have any dinas left you have to change it at the airport.the hotel will not change it back to our currency.we made many new friends at the sahara beach including sabastian, and julia from bulvaria in germany.the splash pools are the best i have ever saw.the hotel also arange a bus to take you in to sousse free of charge(we mostly went by taxis,as they were very cheap ,and quick.)try the mini golf it is realy good.there is also tennis there, and basketball which we didnt try .but looked good.most rooms have a sea view which we noticed.marks out of 10 for this hotel is a certain 10,and we will be going back in the near futre(wish we were still there now)hope this helps any one going.

My family have been holidaying at this hotel since 1979!! Sometimes more than once each year so we have seen many changes. If you're travelling with kids you can't go wrong with this hotel, fantastic value.
If you're looking for posh grub, marble staircases and cut crystal, you won't find it at Sahara Beach. However, if you want to lounge around for a tan, experience a different culture and eat loads then this is the place for you. We missed out last year as we had 2 amazing holidays in the States but I couldn't resist sneaking in a little relaxing break in June (Orlando isn't the place for a rest!).
I started going to this hotel at the age of eleven, my eldest son is now fourteen, so you can see how well this place caters for the family. We've taken other family and friends with us, once we travelled with a party of over forty people! All inclusive is a great option if you're a drinker, or sports player, otherwise the strong pound makes for cheap drinks and food.
Over the years, we've made many good Tunisian friends. If you get the opportunity to visit a Tunisian at home, go for it! They are such friendly people, living clean simple lives, normally as part of an extended family. Yes, the streets and villages look dirty, but a combination of sand and not much spare water doesn't help that!
I can't wait to get there again in 9 weeks, my dad is over there at the moment spending all day sleeping by the pool no doubt!
