This hotel was great! I have been to Tunisia before and loved it so it was no surprise we loved this one too! The pool was great and so was the entertainment, all of the team put a lot of effort into it. Sam being my most favourable! Sniper and Sam are most friendliest people you will meet and me & my friend are going back just for them if not the holiday.

Rooms were visited daily by cleaners and kept nice and tidy, air conditioning was really good and there were no signs of insects at all.

Definately going back this year.

We stayed at the Jinene hotel for 2 weeks in September 2005.

We found the hotel very nice and clean inside as well as out.

It was only a 5 minute walk to the beach which was very nice for walks.

We stayed half board and found the food OK but repetitive.

There was very little to do outside the hotel so we more or less had to stay and take part in the hotel entertainment which was more suited to families with young children than a couple in their 20s.

The staff were very helpful during our stay and very pleasant.

I would stay at this hotel again, but I would not go back to Tunisia as there is not much to do.

Not a good place to go either if you are an animal lover as several places we went, we observed the terrible living conditions and mistreatment which Tunisia's animals have to endure.

Also, wouldn't advise going on any Thomas cook trips as they are poorly organised and nowhere near worth the money.

Having just returned from a fortnight holiday at the Jinene I found the hotel to be of excellent standard.

The rooms were kept clean, and linen changed every day.

The staff were all friendly and very helpful.

The food was okay although repetitive like the entertainment.

Out side the hotel the pool and gardens were well kept, tho the sun disappears from them after about 4 as it was blocked out by the layout of the Jinene and sister hotel Royal Jinene. the Jinene beach which is not very big, but satisfying is very accessible.

The staff at the beach bar were always a hand which is appreciated if you get a little peckish or thirsty. A few minutes walk to your right you will find bigger beaches along with some watersports. There are a couple of cafes also on site which are also of good standard, though a little pricey compared to others off site.

Children are entertained well of an evening though after a while the tunes get tedious, after which they have the varied adult entertainment i.e. Snake charmer, belly dancer, and a talented chap who lies on glass and a bed of nails.

There are a few cats on the site of the hotel which are fed leftovers from the staff.

All in all we found the hotel very pleasant to stay at and was well worth the money.

Hotel Jinene was clean if not a little dated but it was out the way and nowhere to go especially with a child and especially at night.

We found the food awful and were eating the bare minimum - however on day 5 as I sat down to yet another bit of dry chicken, as I went to cut it up and take a bite a 2" dead insect fell out! Needless to say it was extremely unpleasant for myself and my 8yr old.

The hotel staff all try very hard to make your stay pleasant enough though they aren't always forthcoming with useful information.

If it wasn't for the entertainment team and the good weather then we honestly would have gone nuts. We had to stay in the hotel at nights because there's very little to do elsewhere in the evenings with children.

Bit disappointing.

We have been to this hotel twice and it never changes the staff are very very nice and friendly.

The entertainment staff are great, Sam, sniper,Joe and the rest of them work really hard to please everyone's needs all day every day.

The room was always clean and the maids always smiling the facilities were great and the pool was fab and well watched over by the life guard very safe for people with children.

We love the hotel that much were going back there always helpful even at 4am when your just getting in any problem is never too big!! Can't wait to go back!!

The hotel Jinene is great. The entertainment team were the best. The entertainment team were Sniper, Sam, Gus Djoe and Zusou. Sam and Sniper are the hottest guys on the planet!!!

The wee waiter down at the bar at night spoke to me in French every night; he is very friendly and funny. The barman upstairs from Denmark was a little cutie and always made me feel welcome.

I did not like Adelo love the rest of the team to bits and hope to meet them up for a drink next time I am in town!!

I will definitely be visiting again as soon as I can. I miss the people very much. I also liked the maids as well very good at their job and very nice to talk to.

We found this hotel to be ok, a bit basic and the food was not great at all, especially with the fact that we had a our 3yr old daughter she never ate a thing apart from crisps and ice lolly's for 2 weeks.

However the staff and entertainment was great and I sometimes hear from Sam by telephone (one of the entertainers)

The waterpark was a good day out and would recommend that, we also went to the animal park which was good.

I probably would not go back to Tunisia as there was not much to do for kids - but all in all we had a super time and came back to Glasgow with a great tan.

The market was very good, and we picked up several bargains.

Hotel was cold and room heating ineffective. Food appalling, overcooked, often cold, badly presented, occasionally unidentifiable and sometimes all four at once. After day 3 we didn't bother with breakfast but stayed in bed to keep warm a little longer.

Stayed at the "Royal" section after we left the Royal Salem which we had paid for but found incredibly below standard.

Royal Jenine is extremely good, staff are very friendly, offered to cook specifically for us if we should want so, smiles all the way.

Staff is very good and very friendly. A certain "go back".

On arrival at 00.15 hours we were greeted pleasantly by the door man and reception, who even offered to exchange money for us to enable us to get refeshments if required. Normally this is done between certain times of the day.We were then shown to our room (the porter carried all our baggage)which was more than spacious with 4 beds (not camp beds either) and clean,we found that the toilet would not flush, the porter then he immediately informed reception, within 5 minutes a plumber arrived and fixed it (you don't get this in the UK. The staff are very friendly and always aim to please their service is excellent especially the room maid who visited daily and changed bedding and towels always ensuring the room was spotles before she left. The entertainment was first class (kids club our children did not attend all the time but there was activities throughout the day. The evening entertainment was varied with visiting local acts again the children were not forgotten at night with there own disco time. The food was very good, it was well presented catered for children, but there are lots of local dishes you have to be prepared to try.(they are delicious and no we didn't get any upset tummies whilst there). You have to remember that these hotels cater for many nationalities at one time, there were Germans, Crotians, Polish, French, Dutch, Algerians plus their own nationality all staying at the same time as us.
