The resort has lots of bars and music is not too loud but you can hear it from the beach. The beach itself is not sandy more like shingle but the hotel does provide nice sunbeds to lie on so not a problem. The sea is quite rough at times in May.
There are nice places to eat a very good value.

We didn't visit the resort of Gumbet or Bodrum at night so can't comment on nightlife.

the side walks in gumbet are awful they should do something about it,go to plant yucca and the manderin they do lovely meals and the staff are lovely aswell, the only bar we went to is chicos the staff are great and they always get you up to dance ,chichos and the corner bar are the only bars that were open the last few days we were there because smileys and the roxy bar closed early so we stayed in chicos for the rest of the holiday.

The resort, beach, if you can call it that was dirty and full of stray cats and dogs (approximatly 20 in our vacinaty) and therefore, full of dogs muck! In the nightmare week we were there we even saw two used syringes discharged on the beach!! My husband was ill for the last four days and we are awayting results of tests but GP thinks it is likly that he has food poisoning!!
We took our two children 6 and 4 and I was seriously worried about my 4 year old daughter as the turkish men kept approaching her to pick her up all of the time!
Please, if you have booked already to go here and are reading this re-arrange, aparantly Mamaris is much better. Personally, I would never set foot in Turkey again!!

The location was ideal being close to the beach and resort centre but far enough away for quietness. The dolmus service to Bodrum was reliable and regular. The resort centre has something for everybody. Bars playing good music and bars playing loud music and the odd oasis where you could enjoy a quiet drink. The main complaint about the resort centre was the incessant touting for business by every restaurant and every bar as you walked by. To begin with you politely said no thank you, but in the end you have to ignore them and walk by which is impolite and not what we are used to doing. The tip here is don't stop because if you do they will grind you into submission. Have a good look around there are plenty of restaurants to choose from and some of the nicer ones are slightly off the beaten track.
The resort centre is not typically Turkey as it is a tourist location very similar to Hisaronu but slightly bigger. However there are plenty of beaches and villages accessible by dolmus from Bodrum. The boat trips from Gumbet are worth booking but they do vary so don't book the first you see, try all the excursion companies and compare what they offer.

No complaints about the situation of the hotel, only the management. The food was very poor, no selection, catered for Germans and the Turkish people, everything in sauces to camouflarge what you were eating.

Due to us travelling the last week of the season, October nearly all the shops and bars had closed for winter.
