on arriving in early hours we checked into palace hotel to be told they had technical problem so they took us to hotel next door grand yazici mares here we were taken to what can only be described as a 3* ex self catering room although bedrooms were ok living/kitchen area were tatty with old fridge and sink unit with two electric rings that did not work def not 5* we were told we had to stay here for the first four days of our seven day holiday.although we could use the facilities at the palace hotel we were questioned by security every time because they didnt recognise the all inclusive bands we were wearing.the bar and waiting staff were friendly but the reception and management people were the most rude and ignorant people i have ever met they could not understand why we were not happy being in a 3*hotel despite paying for 5*. eventually after four days we were given our proper rooms in the palace hotel these were ok but still not what we considered to be 5*.air conditioning and shower in my daughters room didnt work and management told us that they would fix it. All they did was to try and pacify us with a bowl of fruit and a bottle of wine and a promise that we could eat a la carte with no charge but would not give us that in writing so resturant said no. all in all this was a holiday from hell and i would definately not return or reccomend it to anyone

This was an amazing holiday ! I have no no complaints about this hotel. All the staff were extremly friendly.. we even made friends with 4 or 5 of them during our stay. The swimming pools are of a good size but be warned they are freezing!! Excellent service was delievered from all the bars .. waiter always around the pool area collecting any empty glasses etc.
The food was OK, nothing fantastic but we didnt have problems finding something. Fresh omelettes and pancakes etc for breakfast .. which was good ! Service was good.. plenty of waiters to clear up etc. (one waiter in the restaurant was extra cute!)
We stayed in a bunglow which was lovely. Nice size, very clean and always made up everyday by the maid.. she even made our towels into heart shapes one day!
Location was good .. when going to the beach head left for maramis and right for Icumlar. When walking towards Marmaris you will come to a place where you can swim with dolphins .. do it! it was so fun!
Overall, this hotel was fantastic, and we are looking forward to going back next year. I was worried a week before going after reading new reviews which weren't too good.. but i had nothing to worry about because this hotel is just brilliant!!!.. there is some cute waiters too !!

My sister, her daughter and friend (both 16) and I stayed here for the last week in October. We had originally booked 2 bungalow twin rooms with garden views and requested that they be adjoining, if at all possible. Upon arrival at the hotel at 5 a.m. the first 2 rooms allocated were in the main building and were both double rooms and nowhere near each other.

We went back to reception and were advised that apparently we could not have bungalow rooms as the hotel was

The hotel is quite elegant and is set in large well maintained grounds which give lots of pleasant shade. Our room had a pretty view through pine trees looking out on to a calm sea with hills beyond. The room was simply but nicely furnished and was very clean indeed. The food was lovely and there were so many different meals to choose from [all self service].Everything was on a large scale and there were always a lot of people around but there was plenty of room for us all! The swimming pools were attractive but music was played all the time near the pools and we longed for peace and quiet! The staff were delightful and we really enjoyed our stay.We decided not to make use of the evening entertainment as we heard a number of negative comments but children were well catered for and had a great time.

Went to this hotel on our honeymoon,We were well recieved and given a free ala carte meal and wine and fruit in our room. The hotel was spotless the cleaners seem to work all day,Rooms were spacious and cleaned every single day, Fresh towels and lux brand and dove soap none of ya rubbish,TV didnt work but they fixed it in 5 minutes and had 3 english stations but we didnt go there to watch TV anyway, rooms are sprayed so no bugs and we were right next to main building so veiw was brilliant.
The food was plentiful and tasty even for someone who is picky there is food for them,if something lands on tablecloth is it changed the staff make sure you are topped up with drinks tables cleared as soon as anyone leaves,
The staff in all areas are friendly they like to get to know ya,but will leave you alone if thats what you want, the doctor there is expensive so go to the local pharmacies in either of the towns.
Entertainment during the day is around the main pool various games night time is good for the kids and then sometimes a show for adults in the ampitheatre ,and a disco everynight till 2 am .Entertainment could be better althought we went in october maybe it was better earlier in the summer.
Location is good its right in the middle of marmaris and icelemer handy just jump on a dolmus we didnt think much of marmaris but icelemer was brilliant.we recommend Sylivias bar in icelimer english lady does sundays dinners.
Beaches arnt great sand is rough but you are well looked after.
we are going to go back because there are things still we didnt do

Have just come back from a week in Marmaris Palace the worst holiday of my life.

Will start with the rooms. I stayed in the hotel and though the beds was made every day they never once in the week I was there did they mop a floor or clean the bathroom. My Mom stayed in the bungalow and had a pain of glass comming out of the balcony door.

The food was the worst I have every tasted only ate there twice and came down with food poisning so spent 5 days out of seven in bed. After two days just wanted to go home.

There are trees everywhere so makes it difficult to get a tan. There were times when there was no food in the day and coffee machines turned off its supposed to be all inclusive.

When the food was layed out there where birds all pecking at the food and taking it off peoples plates while they went to get a drink.

The situation of the hotel is not that good as if you want to go to a shop you have to get on a bus as there are no local ones.

All I can say is we wasted our money going to this hotel so please don't waste yours as most people who where there looked bored and fed up and most where in there room ill.

Just came back from a weeks stay at the marmaris palace, I would not say it was the worst hotel I have stayed in however certainly not the best.

We arrived to a glass of champaigne while staff took cases to our rooms, we thought this very nice and thought we had chose a great hotel, we were lucky to get rooms right next to the hotel however with a double buggy, pram and single buggy and over 50 stairs to climb every time we went to our rooms it was a bit of a nightmare, however if the waiters seen you strugle they did help.

The food was okay at first but after a few days became boring, they seem to repete everything over and over again and the que's sometime were unbeleiveble and that was in May, I would hate to see what it would be like in peak season.

My two kids ended up with tosilitis, when they first complained of sore throats I phoned the doctor on site and asked if I could buy antibiotics over the counter at a chemist, he said no I could only get that on prescription, I had to pay them thirty five pounds plus extra for antibiotics, I later learned that you can buy antibiotics over the counter.

The walk in to icmeler is nice but again not something you want to be doing night and day if you want a bit of entertainement.

Overall we enjoyed out holiday the part that put us off most and would stop us going back is the amount of stairs and steep slopes that have to be climbed over and over agaon to get to rooms, bars, shops, flumes, park etc etc.

The food was buffet style and had a dfferent theme everynight. But, they always had the basic food as well for the more picky eaters.

The quality was much better then I expected after hearing about the star rating differences. The hotel is right on the beach. If you want to call it a beach. You won't be building sand castles as there are chairs everywhere. The water is clean and clear.

There was staff cleaning at all hours. The entertainment was a bit suspect most of the time. But, they have professionals come in a few nights and they are fantastic.

The only thing I would be aware of is if you have teen girls the locals are pretty friendly with them and over baring at times.

Arrived home yesterday from a fortnight staying at Marmaris Palace This has to be one of the best holidays we have ever had as a family. I was stunned to read some of the reviews. If you were thinking of going, please don't let such reviews put you off.

We were constantly entertained by the animation staff, day & night (They never seem to be off duty).

The surrounding scenery around the complex is literally breath taking.

The food was first class, the best that we've seen. You were literally spoilt for choice, something for every nationality, even for the fussy eaters. whom, I am sure are the people complaining here! You are in Turkey not England, there is bound to be some Turkish dishes it's only logical. If people wanted junk food they should have stayed in England or tried Benidorm.

The rooms were simple, but spotless. The maids cleaned every single day to a good standard. All the staff work tirelessly to ensure your holiday is top notch. The waiters are worked so hard and are always smiling. No sooner had you finished a meal or a drink and the waiters cleared away.

It is well worth treating yourself to a Turkish peel and massage, I would suggest you do this at the start of your holiday, it helps prolong your tan and prevent peeling. I had the mineral sea salt exfoliating massage and felt a million dollars afterwards! The price was also at least half what you would pay in England! I also had my hair cut and styled it cost
