The problem is the beach - so much so that they didn't even open the beach bar until approx the 18th July.
Turtles are nesting so it can not be touched until October. So why was it not done last October then we wouldn't be moaning.

The resort was as we expected it, a bit isolated, however, this was clear when we booked the holiday. The Pegasos complex was so big so this didn't really effect us.
There were many cheap mini buses (dolmus) from Sarigerme to bigger towns if you wanted to go somewhere more lively. There were a few shops and bars in Sarigerme and was only 5 minutes away from the Pegasos hotel.

Sarigerme is a new resort. It will get better as will the hotel and the beach.
If you are going in August all the reviews you read about the hotels will be addressed as we saw an improvment the 2nd week.
The only bad thing about the the place is the mozzies you will get bit, beleave me you will there's no hiding place from them.
Take euros, cash or lira. No travellers-cheque as you get only 2.00 to the £in the hotel. Got 2.36 in the UK,and on a trip out of the camp got 2.30 at the bank.

The resort was typical of a Turkish resort. Consisted of one street. However, covered all types of purchases from cafe/bars to"fake" clothing, bags etc.
The beach could be cleaner but I have no doubt that this will follow in the near future. I personally found it refreshing to visit a beach which was not too full of sunbeds.

Sarigerme is too small at moment for the number of people that will converge. A trip to the market on a Sunday is entertaining. The shout of "cheaper than Aldi" and "better than Asda price" wear thin after a while, but still funny.
One or two restaurants there, and people we spoke to said they enjoyed lovely meals in the town.
Beach in front of complex is recently man-made - a throw back to my original visit to Gumbet in 1988. Theres some building to be done, but suspect most will stick to the hotel pools.
Its not Sarigerme that will attract people back, its the Pegasos complex.

The resort is very clean, they are constantly sweeping, cleaning, picking up rubbish. A tem of turkish ladies even go in and spend hours a day tiding up the gardens, weeding, cleaning the floor tiles around the pool, you can't believe how much work they do to keep everywhere clean until you see it.
The beach is made of black sand and where you go into the sea it is very stoney, you will need your flipflops or sandals to get into the sea. The beach is very clean and weel looked after. Once a week, the have a beach party, not to be missed!! They put makeshift bars down on the beach and have a stage thing from where they run the music. They have lasers going across the beach, music and dancing, games. They send dry ice into the crowd and with the lasers it is really effective. Coming upto midnight, a load of fireworks are set off, a display as good as one you would pay to go and see in England. They also have a foam machine which pumps out loads of foam into the dancing crowds. Absolutley brilliant, a night not be missed by any age.
I would definately go again, there were some people who had problems with one thing or another but they are doing everything possible to sort these problems. i.e. they wasnt meant to be free icecreams but 2 days after we arrived, they were introduced. Also, there queues for the bars on the evening we a nightmare. During the time we were there they put out extra bars for just beer to reduce the queue at the main bars. It was a lot better.

The beach hadn't really been touched but we were led to believe that this problem will be sorted out. There were still watersports available. We all went on the banana boat (£5 per person) and the children did paragliding (£35 for a child and adult, £25 for a single).

Sarigerme- people friendly, very small town.
Would recommend you book any trips via here unless you are happy to be ripped off through hotel.
