Las Vegas, AKA Sin City, is approx 10 and a half hours on a non-stop flight from the UK, currently available with BA and Virgin from London and Virgin from Manchester.
There is so much more to Las Vegas than gambling. It is a foodie paradise with top class restaurants as well as cheaper options to suit every budget. The entertainment is also world class with everything from full production shows to one man comedy shows, magicians, hypnotists, ventriloquists, variety shows, tribute acts, headliners and the famous Cirque du Soleil productions.
Gambling caters for everyone from the low roller on penny slot machines to whales on the table games. Drinks are complimentary while gambling; just make sure to tip at least $1 per drink and you can order anything from cocktails to coffee.
The hotels are entertainment in themselves as they all have their own themes and attractions. Where else can you visit Paris, Egypt, Venice and Rome in the same day?
Must sees are the Bellagio fountains, especially at night, the Grand Canal at the Venetian where you can ride on a gondola. There are also thrill rides 1148ft above the ground on top of the Stratosphere tower and a roller coaster at the New York New York hotel.

If you can book a run of house room at a very reduced rate then I would recommend it as the rooms in the Bellagio all seem to be of a great quality.
Obviously, try and get a fountain view room to see the fabulous fountains that perform all the time to the crowds.

Make sure to visit the famous Ellis Island next door. Their steak specials are legendary. Food and drink is very cheap and mingle with the locals in their karaoke bar- I hate karaoke normally but this one is a lot of fun.

Vegas is a very clean city.....the only thing that spoils it are those porn slapper cards strewn every where....I don't know how many people I saw slip on those cards....they are a hazard
You can't beat this destination for entertainment
Fav show Love......seriously thinking of doing it again next time as I'm sure we missed half of what was going on.
Best afternoon show....Mac King....funny and clever
Best lounge bar....The lounge at Bills....cheap and plenty of variety
Best band seen.....without a doubt The Crashers followed by the band at Dicks in Excalibur
Best buffet....for the money Harrah's
Best breakfast...Victorian cafe at Bills
Value for money meal....Panda express...can't beat it for the money
Best steak....Ellis Island......for tenderness and value
Cheapest drinks....Bills and O'Sheas
Most expensive ...Nine Fine Irishmen and Mc Carran airport
Best shopping....LV outlet centre
Best free entertainment....Freemont
Can't wait to go back in 2010

As vegas is the most biggest and brash city in the world you take it as you find it bold, brash and beautiful the gardens round the hotels are all immaculate the hotels are spotless and the conveniences you could have a party in them all solid wood, and smoked candles. you are allowed to smoke in the casinos so it does get smoky and smelly but you have to take all that in your stride its a wonderful merry go round of thrills and excitement and nothing like it on earth, the Bellagio fountains are amazing along with the free pirates show(queue early)the lions of mgm, the canals of venice etc what more could you want?

Las Vegas is a 24 hour full on resort, with each hotel having its own unique theme. They are incredible and huge! The Venetian is one not to be missed with an indoor and outdoor canal with gondolas. If you have a head for heights visit the stratosphere and go on the thrill rides at the top. A must is a visit to the Grand Canyon, but go by plane or helicopter as it's a long, bumpy road, also take a night helicopter trip over the strip, breathtaking. Take sensible walking shoes!!!!

Hussle, noise and constant activities. Weddings, (on motorcycles up and down the strip) and strolling around the hotels, dancing fountains to music, gondolas in hotels, night clubs in every corner, rollercoasters on top of hotels, you simply just lose the time of day. This is definitely an adult only experience. Walking, drinking, eating and gambling, thrown in with a spot of dancing. Back streets seemed a bit dodgy but if you keep to the main street and hotels I felt safe.

What can i say Vegas is awsome! I can't wait to go back again, already planning a trip with school friends for our 40th's. There is plently to do and see for everyone from shows, sitting around the pool, eateries to just visiting all the Hotels/Casinos on the strips. There is that much to do on the strip we never had the chance to go further afield.
We did visit Fremont Street using the bus; got there alright but trying to find the bus to get back and the wait was bad especially as there was a very unnerving atmosphere there and we didn't feel safe. Some of the older casinos & hotels there do have some good sights so consider getting a taxi then will have more flexability. A must place to visit!!

Considering how many people there are visiting Vegas, it was extremely clean. People walk around the streets with food and drink and even use the bins provided. As people are in and out of the casinos all the time, they walk around with alcohol drinks as well as soft ones and considering this, we never saw any trouble at all.
There were many shows to go to and see all day and night if you wanted or you could just go and look at the hotels or the casinos. We must admit that the only show we didn't like was the one at the Treasure Island. A bit to corny for us but if you like scantily clad women singing from a pirate ship then you will enjoy it no doubt!
The hotels are magnificent and one definitely worth a look around was the Venetian. It totally took our breath away when we first saw it and it was well worth spening a few hours looking around inside. Of course the Bellagio fountains are a must, especially at night time. Make sure you take your digital camera or camcorder to record the show on. Fantastic. We did go to one show at the Riviera, the Neil Diamond Tribute show, by Jay White. He was excellent and well worth going to see.
The thrill rides? Well, my parents are 71 and 72 and I went up the Stratosphere with my dad! To be fair, it would only be really scary if you are afraid of heights. If not, then the New York New York rollercoaster raised the adrenelin levels more. And yes, he went on that as well!
Make sure you take a good pair of walking shoes as if you are going to get the most out of it then you will be doing a lot of walking.
We did not do the Grand Canyon despite it supposedly being 'a must' as there was so much else to do and we ran out of time. Also, if you were to do it in the helicopter, it is very expensive, so maybe next time.
All in all we had a great albeit tiring time and would go back again. One other thing though, I know of some people who have only gone for 4 nights, it is a long flight if that is all you are doing, unless it is part of a longer holiday and you are already in America.
Roll on Christmas holiday....for a rest!!!

Well we go every year, this year will be our 9th trip, so I guess you can say it has everything we need!!!
Only thing it doesn't have is a beach, and also I don't feel it's suitable for under 21's, who might be disappointed to miss out on most things due to the age limit.

It`s fabulous Las Vegas enough said. A long story but avoid Le Grande Jewels in Ballys ...atrocious customer service and a huge rip off I`d have rather lost my money gambling. Taxi`s never seemed to be the same price for same distance. The white tigers and dolphins in The Mirage well worth the entry fee and I usually dislike zoo style places. I took the quick two hour Grand Canyon tour and loved it. The worst hotel visited was The Sahara thank goodness we didn`t stay there, that was the worst buffet. The MGM event staff are the biggest numptys ever.....they take your camera from you but allow mobile camera/video phones ????? Worst meal goes to Harley Davidson Cafe be warned they want money to take pictures of certain bikes too. Imagine Hard Rock or Planet Hollywood charging to photograph memorabilia ? Las Vegas wow though the two weeks had my eyes wide open. The Bellagio fountains which are free brought a lump to my throat. The place oozes big and brash but it`s class.

Vegas is everything you expect & plenty more besides. It has something to suit everyones taste. Bellagios, Caesers Palace & the Forum Shops, The Venetian, MGM Grand, Luxor, Planet Hollywood, Paris the list goes on & they are all just fantastic.
Got tickets to see George Michael at MGM Grand as part of his US/Canada tour. What can I say he is absolutely fantastic & well worth the money. The highlight of our holiday was our wedding which was all well organised by the travel agents & wedding co-ordinator.
Weather was boiling as was expected for that time of year.
All in all Vegas was the best, in every possible way. Would we return, YES oh YES hopefully to renew our vows in 10 years time.

No beach but no option to put that in my rating.
The cleanliness is being spoiled by the "Ladies available to visit your room" cards left lying all over the street by the touts. The touts are not much of a hinderance but start to get on your nerves by the end of a week.
The entertainment is what you make of it. Theres probably something for everyone. Not a lot for kids but if I had to I could probably find something to entertain them.
Vegas has become a must visit for shopaholics. from the best shops in the world even though I could not afford to shop in them, mostly in Ceasars palace forum, to cheap outlet centres were Brits can bag real bargains compared to UK prices on Levis etc. Trainers or sneakers as the yanks like to call them are a fraction of the price.
For any hunters reading this the Bass Pro shops is attached to the Silverton casino which is a $15 taxi ride from the strip. If you have not been before and like your shooting or fishing leave a good half day avaialable for your visit to the shop and take a pocket full of money. Its a fantastic shop and you wont want to leave. Binoculars and scopes are approx half to two thirds the price in the UK. 2 days a week theres a chap named "Hoppy" in the fine gun room. He is a fountain of knowledge and gives a good tour allowing you to handle guns most of could never afford to own.
Shop staff and bar staff in Vegas are tremendous, taxis are a little expensive and if your in a large group, get a price for a Limo before getting a couple of taxis. We got a great ride to Freemont street for $55 dollars between 9 of us from Ballys and it works out cheaper then the 3 taxis it would have taken us to get there.
Americans are really nice people and its nothing like you see in Starsky and Hutch where they all run around with guns. Just be careful and you cant go wrong in Vegas. They all just want you to have a good time when your there.
I cannot wait to go back and I am not a gambler, I have a small dabble when in the casino's. Try Bally's for free gambling lessons. Even if you have no intention of ganbling its interesting to find out how it works and makes watching others gambling a bit more interesting.
Visit the Grand canton and Hoover dam.
Being a nhunter i must admit Bass pro shop is my favourite place in vegas. For a really cheap bite to eat go to the food court in Fashion show mall, loada of choice and for only a few dollars.
