Las Vegas, AKA Sin City, is approx 10 and a half hours on a non-stop flight from the UK, currently available with BA and Virgin from London and Virgin from Manchester.
There is so much more to Las Vegas than gambling. It is a foodie paradise with top class restaurants as well as cheaper options to suit every budget. The entertainment is also world class with everything from full production shows to one man comedy shows, magicians, hypnotists, ventriloquists, variety shows, tribute acts, headliners and the famous Cirque du Soleil productions.
Gambling caters for everyone from the low roller on penny slot machines to whales on the table games. Drinks are complimentary while gambling; just make sure to tip at least $1 per drink and you can order anything from cocktails to coffee.
The hotels are entertainment in themselves as they all have their own themes and attractions. Where else can you visit Paris, Egypt, Venice and Rome in the same day?
Must sees are the Bellagio fountains, especially at night, the Grand Canal at the Venetian where you can ride on a gondola. There are also thrill rides 1148ft above the ground on top of the Stratosphere tower and a roller coaster at the New York New York hotel.

If you can book a run of house room at a very reduced rate then I would recommend it as the rooms in the Bellagio all seem to be of a great quality.
Obviously, try and get a fountain view room to see the fabulous fountains that perform all the time to the crowds.

Make sure to visit the famous Ellis Island next door. Their steak specials are legendary. Food and drink is very cheap and mingle with the locals in their karaoke bar- I hate karaoke normally but this one is a lot of fun.

We travelled to Las Vegas for the Ricky Hatton fight. Fight put aside, this was by far the best holiday of my life!! The MGM is out of this world. The whole place itself is like being on another planet. I absolutely fell in love with Las Vegas and cannot wait to go back. Weather around 90 degrees at 6 in the morning and got hotter by the hour!! I would most definately return to Las Vegas (MGM)although all the hotels here are stunning.. the Venecian, Luxor, Bellagio, Caesars Palace to name a few!!! There is so much to do, we went for a week and I could have stayed alot lot longer. Make sure you do the Grand Canyon, once in a lifetime experience. Was a little scary at first but the views are amazing!! David Copperfield show was fab and so was Mamma Mia!! Cant say much more.....just cannot wait to return next year.

A lot of rubbish outside hotel, due to building site, and leaflets dropped from previous night, large amount of choice for entertainment.

Vegas is an adult's playground! We have been going twice a year for the past 3 years and that looks set to continue.
We visit for the shows, restaurants, gambling (slots), weather.
This time we saw Tom Jones (excellent), Elton John (good), Stomp Out Loud (not our thing), Phantom (very good) and Fab Four (very good).
Had some wonderful meals including Filet Mignon with Merlot Butter at Mon Ami Gabi (Paris) twice, Bally's Steakhouse and the Cortez Room at the Gold Coast.
The Bellagio fountains are the best free attractions and should not be missed.

Wow we had a fab time in vegas- we went on boxing day and stayed for new year and it was the best holiday ever. the streets in vegas are so clean and tidy and there is so much to do that its impossible to do everything you want to do there are lots of trips to do which we thought were a bit pricey but worth it. we went to see a hypnotist show one night and it was great fun we spent new years eve in th venetian hotel watching lionel richie which was amazing! we saw quiet a few famous people around aswell like britney spears, micheal jackson and black eyed peas. the shopping is amazing i just wished id have taken more money to spend. there are some great places to eat such as 'nine fine irish men' in the new york new york hotel or the mexican in the alladin hotel or the outback steakhouse. all the hotels are amazing- just walking around them can take up a whole day. my fav were bellagio, paris, luxor and mirage. a must is to go up to the top of the eiffel tower- the view of the strip is fab and its an awful lot cheaper than going up in a helicopter! the bellagio fountains are out of this worl i could have stood ther all day and night watching them. if i could make any suggestions it would be to get a direct flight as the stop overs were a pain as i hate hanging around but our holiday was fantastic. Viva La Vegas!!!!

we spent hogmanny in las vegas watching the organised firework displays from numerous hotel roofs along the strip along with 400,000 other people! therefor moving about was a bit difficult but a spectacular sight to witness. it was good to be able to walk into all hotels and take in what they had to offer for entertainment many of them free of charge it also give you the opportunity to see if any of the others hotels would suit if you would wish to return las vegas is definatly a place that should be visited from going up the tower in the stratosphere to the splendor of the luxor at the other end of the strip all in all a great place to visit.

Vegas is the maddest place I have ever been to. Great shopping and the gambling is literally everywhere, but these guys certainly know how to put on a show! I recommend the Star Trek experience at the Hilton to anyone who has ever heard of Star Trek, and even those who haven't, the simulators are fantastic! Pick up taxis at the hotels, or you can walk, bus or use the monorail to get up and down the strip. A trip on the Venetian's Gondolas (we did the inside canal) is a must, as is a stroll to watch the Belagio's fountains - amazing!

There is no place like las vegas, unfortunately whilst we were there and probably for a year or two more they are updating and building new hotel complexes and this does give the resort a bit of a grubby look and feel to it at the moment but am sure that when the building works are finished all will look good. It will be well worth the wait.
Excellent entertainment 24 hours a day, not just based around the casinos ( although these are a magnificent sight to see) but different types of shows with some of the worlds biggest stars, for example when we were there Celine Dion, Elton John, Barry Manilow, The Who, The Rollings Stones were all in town along with many more, also unusual shows such as the blue man group at the venetian (although these can be a little expensive)there are many excursions to the grand canyon, hoover dam, death valley etc, which my husband Barry decided to go on (whilst i did some retail therapy) and he thoroughly enjoyed the experience and said it was good value.
Talking of retail therapy, so many shops so little time.
(some very good bargains)!!
To many people handing out flyers for strip clubs etc for my liking, causing large amounts of litter, im not narrow minded but you do feel harassed by the people who hand these flyers out as they hang around in groups and obstruct the walkways.
This is definately not a place for children.
