Las Vegas, AKA Sin City, is approx 10 and a half hours on a non-stop flight from the UK, currently available with BA and Virgin from London and Virgin from Manchester.
There is so much more to Las Vegas than gambling. It is a foodie paradise with top class restaurants as well as cheaper options to suit every budget. The entertainment is also world class with everything from full production shows to one man comedy shows, magicians, hypnotists, ventriloquists, variety shows, tribute acts, headliners and the famous Cirque du Soleil productions.
Gambling caters for everyone from the low roller on penny slot machines to whales on the table games. Drinks are complimentary while gambling; just make sure to tip at least $1 per drink and you can order anything from cocktails to coffee.
The hotels are entertainment in themselves as they all have their own themes and attractions. Where else can you visit Paris, Egypt, Venice and Rome in the same day?
Must sees are the Bellagio fountains, especially at night, the Grand Canal at the Venetian where you can ride on a gondola. There are also thrill rides 1148ft above the ground on top of the Stratosphere tower and a roller coaster at the New York New York hotel.

If you can book a run of house room at a very reduced rate then I would recommend it as the rooms in the Bellagio all seem to be of a great quality.
Obviously, try and get a fountain view room to see the fabulous fountains that perform all the time to the crowds.

Make sure to visit the famous Ellis Island next door. Their steak specials are legendary. Food and drink is very cheap and mingle with the locals in their karaoke bar- I hate karaoke normally but this one is a lot of fun.

Anyone who has been to Vegas before will understand - you really can't believe what you see! I'm totally addicted and can't wait to go back. Its definately an adult resort - I wouldn't bring my children (although there are plenty who do). I'm not a big gambler but there is so much else to take in - where else would you get to see the whole world in one street! I can say I've seen the pyramids in Egypt, been up the Eiffel Tower, sailed a Goldola in Venice, been over the Brooklyn Bridge in New York, etc etc etc - it really has to be seen to be believed!!!

Las Vegas was amazing but just a bit too fast paced for me and too much walking and everyone expects a tip, even the bar staff! I don't tip at home so it was a bit weired tipping all the time. In the end I gave up, its our money and we wanted to spend it on us. The Grand Canyon vist was well worth the money though, an excellent trip and a must for anyone who is visiting Vegas for the first time.

Ceasars Palace shopping centre was out of this world, a must for any trendy shopaholic! try the westward ho next door but one, for bottled beer and margurita's at 99 cents.
Had a great holiday and would definitely return to this hotel and resort.

It is a city and a very busy one so the streets are not to bad really. Found down town to be abit on the seeder side.
The cat buses are really cheap $5 for a 24 hour ticket good value. If a little slow at rush hour.
We went to four shows, Celine Dion at Ceasers Palace which was great. Not a great fan so paid for cheap seat but still had a great view and she was great. Also Mystere at treasure island which was excellant.
David Copperfield was the best acording to my 15 daughter!
The American Superstars at the stratosphere was not bad and had a good meal ar the buffet included with the price.
Only place which we felt a bit uneasy was down at the Fremont experience we where glad we did this as part of a night bus trip, also were taken to the rio to see the free show and the bellagio fountains which were amazing.
We had a great trip one which we will always remember. As well we did the helicopter trip to the Grand can/Ranch tour if you take this tour go on the ride offered as the old cowboy you get left with will bore you to death.

Las Vegas seemed very clean to me, the only problem being the people selling sex, and the flyers stuck to fences and walls. There not particularly pushy once you say no, but should the sex industry be put under your nose every time you walk on the street?
Entertainment as much as any person could stand, for free the pirates show and freemont street a must with bands and entertainers alfresco style. Some good acts in some of the cocktail bars, just buy a drink grab a chair and be entertained.
Plenty of headline shows to take in, ticket prices ranging from 80 dollars upwards, available from ticket express and loads of other places.
A few manmade beaches around some pools, and the desert that surrounds the city.
Yes I would go again, but not for a relaxing holiday, it's such a bustling place to go, just make sure you have a lot of money and energy, and you will experience an upmarket Blackpool.

I. Love. Vegas!
So much so that I am even letting my husband come with me next year! (That never happens!) There is SO much to see and do all day (and night) every day (and night!).
Things I have done there and would highly recommend are, Papillion Helicopter tour to Grand Canyon with lunch on canyon floor. Maverick strip helicopter tour. We Will Rock You and Mamma Mia - They are both equally brilliant! Free entertainment worth seeing, Bellagio fountains, Treasure Island Pirate feature, Erupting volcano at the Mirage (secret world at Mirage although not free is very good also).
Shopping wise, you cannot beat Caesars Palace although Ross Dress for Less is a VERY cheap shop a bit like TK Maxx and has some great bargains. Chemist stores are excellent and hold everything you will need should you not pack imodium or advil. A few of these are 24hrs.
One thing I would say, I have two kids aged 10 and 11. Although there are 1000's kids in Las Vegas, I personally would not take my own and would not recommend anoyone to take theirs. ALthough there is loads to do, we were told by MGM Grand that they were not attracting children anymore, I have to agree that it is really an adult den of iniquity! The kids obvioulsy cannot gamble or drink and if your kids are anything like mine they do not want to be shopping all day long.
I have promised my kids that I will take them when they are both 18-19 and they can then relax and enjoy what Vegas has to offer to adults!
It is one big playground for grown ups although I feel like a kid when I leave there because i want to go back straight away!
Enjoy yourselves and live it up!!!!!!!

Generally Vegas is spotless, particularly on the main strip. 4 and 5 star hotels are dotted everywhere and they set the tone.
Vegas is without doubt the best adult entertainment location on the planet. Open 24 hours, it caters to all tastes, from daiquiri bars to Brit pubs, from burger joints to world class restaurants.
There is a beach but it is a nightclub. If its sand you want, hop in a taxi for 15 minutes and head out of town. Why? because your in the middle of the Mojave desert!
Alternatively, theres always Blackpool!!
