Las Vegas, AKA Sin City, is approx 10 and a half hours on a non-stop flight from the UK, currently available with BA and Virgin from London and Virgin from Manchester.
There is so much more to Las Vegas than gambling. It is a foodie paradise with top class restaurants as well as cheaper options to suit every budget. The entertainment is also world class with everything from full production shows to one man comedy shows, magicians, hypnotists, ventriloquists, variety shows, tribute acts, headliners and the famous Cirque du Soleil productions.
Gambling caters for everyone from the low roller on penny slot machines to whales on the table games. Drinks are complimentary while gambling; just make sure to tip at least $1 per drink and you can order anything from cocktails to coffee.
The hotels are entertainment in themselves as they all have their own themes and attractions. Where else can you visit Paris, Egypt, Venice and Rome in the same day?
Must sees are the Bellagio fountains, especially at night, the Grand Canal at the Venetian where you can ride on a gondola. There are also thrill rides 1148ft above the ground on top of the Stratosphere tower and a roller coaster at the New York New York hotel.

If you can book a run of house room at a very reduced rate then I would recommend it as the rooms in the Bellagio all seem to be of a great quality.
Obviously, try and get a fountain view room to see the fabulous fountains that perform all the time to the crowds.

Make sure to visit the famous Ellis Island next door. Their steak specials are legendary. Food and drink is very cheap and mingle with the locals in their karaoke bar- I hate karaoke normally but this one is a lot of fun.

Las Vegas was great, the strip is clean and safe with plenty of LVPD on show, fremont street is good but the area around it in the old downtown area was unsafe and you need to be 100% aware. But with the activities on the strip in 11 days we had a problem to fit it all in.
I would go back again, and will at the first chance.
We only spent $30 on gambling as this is only a part of what Vegas has to offer.
On the trips, you must do the helicopter to the Grand Canyon. But we were advised to go about 4 - 5 pm, as its cooler and as the sun goes down the Canyon turns orange , plus on the way bak you fly over the Las Vegas srip at night.

Having been to Vegas 4 times now, I'm obviously very fond of it. You can do anything at practically any time of the day! My only complaint is that you have to go for dinner before 10pm, as a lot of restaurants and buffets close at this time. So if you want to see a show (which usually starts between 730 and 830, you have to really rush to get dinner first, and often go out dressed for the night in immense heat!
There's entertainment to suit everyone....comedy shows, variety shows, music, clubs. etc. Most hotels have lovely pools.
There's a vast variety of food in Vegas, all different types of food, and to suit a variety of budgets........from hot dogs and pizza slices, to fine dining at posh restaurants often owned by famous chefs.

Las Vegas was great fun. We saw Celine Dion live at Caesars. Could have seen David Copperfield or the Chippendales live. Saw the MGM white lions, the dolphin habitat at The Mirage, The Sharks at the Mandalay Bay, The Pirates of the Caribbean and Bellagio fountains (both of these being free because you watched from the road). Was serenaded on a gondola going through the Venetian, terrified by the roller coaster that dropped over the top of the Stratosphere, nipped up the Eiffel Tower, and of course went out to the Grand Canyon in a light aircraft, went over the edge in the helicopter, and topped it off by a boat ride along the Colorado. We also did so much more, but I don't think I have enough room to tell you any more. We loved Las Vegas. We've got to return to see what we missed. Couldn't believe the slot machines in the airport!

My 8th visit to Vegas, my ninth will be in Feb 2005.
The beach isn't much cop (it's in the desert!), but customer service is fantastic, and it's a great place to holiday.

Would definitely go to Las Vegas again. We went for 2 weeks and found we could have stayed longer as there is so much to see and do.
The Grand Canyon is a must see - we went by helicopter, landed at a cowboy ranch for lunch and on a horseride into the mountains before flying back over Vegas strip - fantastic day.
Freemont Street is slightly out of the way but worth the trip at night.
The strip is longer than you think but the buses are cheap and frequent.
Eating out you cant go wrong, there are so many places to choose from - the hotel buffets are really good value.

Loads to do in Vegas - we went to the Grand Canyon with Heli USA, apart from the helicopter flight we also had horse riding, a sunset meal, cowboys round the camp fire, lots of beers and stayed overnight in a cabin - an experience never to be forgotten - and new friends who we still keep in contact with - Hello Di and Pete!!!
We packed in shows, comedy club, strat rides, gondolas at the Venation, fountains and pirates - we could have done with a holiday to get over it!!
Go down Freemont at night - it's in the old part of Vegas but it's so much cheaper and has a fab light show and a band that get you dancing in the street - bottle of Bud 99c - on the strip you can pay $4 and more depending where your drinking - my advice is get in the Casino 'cause the cocktail waitresses bring you free drinks all the time your playing.
Tipping is a bit of a pain - it's a minimum $1 every time you order a round of drinks and 15% of your meal bills, it doesn't sound like a lot but it all adds up - and you do hate giving a tip if the person didn't even smile!
The show at the top of the strat - is very good value for money and it includes buffet dinner which was ok and the trip to the top deck - brilliant views over the strip.
We went to MGM to see David Copperfield the illusionist - out of this world - if he's there you must go and see him.
We went up the Eiffel Tower at the Paris during the day and watched the fountains at The Bellagio - got some fantastic photos.
I could go on all week about all the things we did - but don't take my word for it just go and do it - you won’t regret it!

Its Vegas, what isn't there to love about it?

Las Vegas is definitely the playground for adults. I would not recommend this resort for anyone under the age of 21. Minors are not allowed into any establishments that sell alcohol and are not allowed to wait around in any casinos. Many of the shows are also restricted to over 18s only. This is the second time I have been to Vegas and would recommend that a week would be a good length for a holiday there.

The only resort I have ever returned to. There is so much to see and do and is ever changing. Disneyland for adults!
