Las Vegas, AKA Sin City, is approx 10 and a half hours on a non-stop flight from the UK, currently available with BA and Virgin from London and Virgin from Manchester.
There is so much more to Las Vegas than gambling. It is a foodie paradise with top class restaurants as well as cheaper options to suit every budget. The entertainment is also world class with everything from full production shows to one man comedy shows, magicians, hypnotists, ventriloquists, variety shows, tribute acts, headliners and the famous Cirque du Soleil productions.
Gambling caters for everyone from the low roller on penny slot machines to whales on the table games. Drinks are complimentary while gambling; just make sure to tip at least $1 per drink and you can order anything from cocktails to coffee.
The hotels are entertainment in themselves as they all have their own themes and attractions. Where else can you visit Paris, Egypt, Venice and Rome in the same day?
Must sees are the Bellagio fountains, especially at night, the Grand Canal at the Venetian where you can ride on a gondola. There are also thrill rides 1148ft above the ground on top of the Stratosphere tower and a roller coaster at the New York New York hotel.

If you can book a run of house room at a very reduced rate then I would recommend it as the rooms in the Bellagio all seem to be of a great quality.
Obviously, try and get a fountain view room to see the fabulous fountains that perform all the time to the crowds.

Make sure to visit the famous Ellis Island next door. Their steak specials are legendary. Food and drink is very cheap and mingle with the locals in their karaoke bar- I hate karaoke normally but this one is a lot of fun.

We were very wary going to Las Vegas with young children but as they were bridesmaids at my brother in laws wedding we went with opened eyes.
We had a ball. Yes, Vegas is a playground for adults but if you look closer, they do accomodate children.
Grand Canyon flight is a must, A word of warning is book your flight as early in the morning as possible, as the heat rises it gets more choppy as the afternoon goes on. My kids loved it, seeing the shows along the strip from TI to excalibur.
There are plenty of places to eat and drink up and down the strip, I found that when we were there we had no option but to go into every hotel in the strip as temp was 116dec hot, hot.
We will return, but next time it's just me and the wife.

Las vegas/downtown is fabulous!
It gets very busy on an evening due to the freemont st experience which is not to be missed but do watch your bags and wallets though, when you are watching the lighting display.
There is casino next to casino all along freemont street dotted with souvenier shops and snack outlets.
The atmosphere is fantastic.
$1.50 takes you onto the strip, which is like a pop up book in the middle of the desert.
110% for entertainment- you are never short of anything to do!

Las Vegas has something for everyone. No matter what age you are you will enjoy it. We went there for a week with two teenagers and there was plenty to do. There is a great shopping mall in the centre of the strip with great sales in August. We went to the Grand Canyon for a day and visited the Hoover Dam en route. We will definitely go back.

Vegas was wild. plenty to do and see. would recommend the heli trip to the Grand Canyon West Ranch in particular. Hotels are spectacular. Tip - do not visit in July - it's too damn hot - over 100 degrees most days. also be wary if you are taking kids, there are groups of men handing out flyers advertising the services of 'escorts' on every street corner, and they are not too picky about who they hand the flyers to.....

Las Vegas must be fairly unique and I travelled not sure if I was going to enjoy it. Anyone with any doubts forget them and go and enjoy!!
Hotels are unbelievable and on such a grand scale. You actually don't need to spend a great deal of money on entertainment because so much of it is free e.g. dancing fountains at the Bellagio, Treasure Island Siren show, Mirage earthquake etc etc.
Visited the Grand Canyon by helicopter which was awesome and a real must do!! Would definitely visit again.

Las Vegas is a must to visit. Whatever you imagine, it will be so much more. People are so friendly, and the place is kept really clean and tidy.

Las Vegas in July is very very hot but it's like a wonderland of different experiences for all ages. The standard of the shows on offer in Las vegas are excellent. We went to see Lance Burton, Cirque de Soleil and Blue Man Group and we weren't disappointed with any of them. We had a flight over the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon then landed and had a raft ride from the base of the Hoover Dam through Black Canyon on the Colorado River. That was the highlight of the whole holiday and my 2 girls (15 and 18) really enjoyed it.
There are a great range of hotels to explore, plentiful shopping opportunities, a multitude of casinos, great entertainment and the wonders of Nevada and Arizona to absorb. This place is well worth the long flight. Enjoy!!

Theme park for adults. Never a dull moment. So much to do and see and you can spend $20 or $2000, you don't have to be rich!

The scale of the place has to be seen to be believed; I never imagined the hotels/casinos were so big! Incredible place.

Great resort , very well laid out and easy to get around , especially now the monorail is operating.
Hire a limo if you can as they are very cheap compared to England and its nice to travel in style. The back streets can be a bit intimidating but they are safe, besides the place is crawling with tourists well into the early hours .
In terms of entertainment, visit the aquarium at the Mandalay Bay also the dolphins at the Mirage, Eiffel tower and the Cravings buffet also at the Mirage ( you wont need to eat again for a week ! )
