we go phoned up yesterday morning aswell and also an email we got a 14 day trip booked in july aswell better not be doing same as i have payed in full will find out after 9am

We were due to fly from Glasgow on Thursday 9th June. Got an email on Saturday to advise they had cancelled the Thursday flights and we now fly on Monday 6th June.

Thankfully we can all change our holidays at work, and we got £50 per adult and £25 per child off the holiday price.

I believe they are cancelling all their 10 / 11 night holidays

same here sally we where due to fly out on the thursday the 30th of june for 14 nights now we are on the 27th june 14 nights and got £150 back only thing i dont like is the flight times but hey go 3 days earlier still get 14 days and save £150 that will do for me just change my holidays at work no probs there.

they have also cancelled certain days aswell to tunisia and tennireef so look like alot of unhappy people gonna be going around.

I think currently the demand for holidays to both Egypt and Tunisia is very low and financially it is uneconomic to provide 2 or more flights per week from all the regional airports to these destinations as the planes are flying with a fraction of their passengers capacity filled.

Unless passengers numbers starting picking up soon IMO there will be a lot more consolidation of flights and cancellations by the major tour operators and airlines, as we already know Jet2 has cancelled it's entire summer schedule to Egypt for this year.

We have booked for the end of next January and I thought it was a good deal, 2 weeks AI at the Tropicana for the 2 of us for £1200.

There are some reasonably priced deals to be found to both Tunisia & Egypt so come on folks lets get back to these fantastic destinations :tup

its seems to be aswell they wait until they get your last payment and then tell you about it aswell seems to me they have knowing this for months now just incase people cancel as with the origonal contrat was to fly out on that day then having to give out full refunds and losing more custume as anyone else had this get lats payment then tell you

But no this is not the case. We still had the majority of our balance to pay when we got the email advising of the change. I called Operations, they deducted the £125 due to us and emailed me a new invoice. Very simple.

Well we were looking for a holiday in Nov this year as usual in a good hotel dont care where it is, and i have not noticed any prices going down for AI? :cry Only in hotels that appear to have awful reviews. Discounts appear to be good, but the whole holiday cost is still around £1500 x 2 ppl AI. Tunisia is virtually empty as my friends have just come back, only 20 guests in their hotel.

Hope it picks up soon.

cant be as bad as us we were told on the day we arrived in sharm that they closed are holiday down the week befor, and never contacted us to ask if we wanted to still go to the hotel they put us in or cancel. it was a night mare , waiting on results of a complaint out of 20 in hotel 16 of us had a complaint the rest either got moved or went home tammie

I've been following the Sharm forum on TA, and from what I can gather TC have been cancelling flights from Glasgow (due to lack of demand) and giving passengers the option to either fly from Manchester via Gatwick or take a refund, and it seems that a lot of people aren't been told of the changes until the last minute, while other passengers are being informed of date changes to their holiday!

Thankfully we have booked with Thomson, and I just hope they don't follow suit.

pat your one of the lucky ones, what gets me angry is that 2 days after being in the hotel the rep told us that thomascook new from the week befor we flew out that they were closing the hotel we booked to go to, but like always they leave it to the reps to tell the people when they get of the plane at sharm , i think that is so wrong been told we have a right to get not only our money back, but also the money we spent eating out for 7 lunches/dinner for the week we were there, breakfast was the only meal we had in there and it was just tea /toast , they didnt even know how to fry an egg that how bad it was, as you wouldnt give a dog there food, well i wouldnt any way and neither would the rest of the people in hotel that we spoke to. tammie

I know what you mean ...... we nearly fell into the same trap with TC 3 years ago when we went to Makadi Bay in Egypt. People who were booked into the same hotel as us, were landing in Hurghada only to be told by the reps that they were being transferred to a lesser grade hotel (apparently due to them losing the contract with Red Sea Holidays) They were transferring their customers who had booked a Red Sea Holiday with them and were transferring them to our hotel and in turn down trying to down grade us. Fortunately we got wind of it through Trip Advisor prior to travelling, but when we confronted the travel agent about it, they were in complete denial even after showing them the evidence from Trip advisor! After many phone calls to their Directors Office over a period of about 3 weeks, we finally received a guarantee from them that we wouldn't be moved.

Needless to say, we haven't and wouldn't booked another holiday with them. I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them. Should also add that I truely believe that the shop genuinely didn't know what was going on ....... I think they are always the last to be informed if there is a problem!!

well they moved our fly out day instead of the thursday to the monday but me and wife sitting talking about it last night flight times on thursday where 07.30 out and around 5pm back you leave the hotel at around 2pm now we fly out at 17.10 arrive 1am and on way back we fly out about 2am this means we will have to pay now to keep our rooms open. over and above that i can get the 3 days but my holidays stay the same i will lose 3 days pay think fobbing us off with £50 each will cut it i dont think so. im off work on saturday im going into shop to confront them. will let you guys know the outcome. you would think tc would have let people know as wife was saying that she checked prices 3 weeks ago and she remebers there was no holidays advertised for orig day we fly out back then. so they have known about it so think they just trying to do it on the quite.

Glasgowkiss where are you flying from?

Our new Monday flights are almost the same as the Thursday one wouldve been. Fly out 7.15am from Glasgow, and leave Sharm at 16.35

flying form glasgow from glasgow its the only flight going out around the time we go unless i want to fly from west midlands and to be honest we payed that bit more to fly from glasgow for the convinience ok if we flew from english airports would have got our holiday about £200 cheaper . but the fact you have to travel another 6 hours to get it feel sorry for the ones who are now forced to fly from further afield. most of them will prob have to get a hotel overnight before they fly this having them to fork out more cash. or extra fuel traveling or parking at airport. where before they just jumped a taxi . and will prob have to pay to keep rooms open in hotels if they have later flights all in all £50 a person do you think that will cover the extra cost incurred. so they keeping it quite incase people cancel or dont even book with them. they forgot about the power of the net lol

nope not unless the phasing out the early flights aswell checked it all through there is no early flights flying from glasgow on the monday the 27th june. and even the monday after all flights from tc are at 17.10 both weeks. will see them saturday anyway and ask either they pay for the extra time to keep our rooms open as we have to be out our rooms by 11.am and our all inc stops at 11.am aswell. so we still have 13 hours before our bus comes. other thing i can do is send a message to the customer reps manager in the hotel as have him on facebook explain the situatian as its our third time at the hotel im sure he may let it slide but just incase get tc to pay for it instead. already payed out over £2500 for this holiday darn sure i aint gonna fork out anymore

back to saint goerges third time there im glad i still stay in touch with the hotel staff over there through facebook as i know that hotel is running fine instead of waiting till i arrived to find out the hotels closed and you are allocated on arrival and end up in the hotel from hell if i wanted that sort of holiday would have booked with teletexts holidays and prob got it at 1/2 the price.
