Managing to get in term time in 2010 due to the eldest finishing year11 early (and youngest isn't in important year), saved us nearly £2000 going earlier in July. Got the youngest as free, and the eldest as a child (she was an adult this year at the same hotel), and ended up paying less for a suite than a standard room.
Travel republic do have some of the cheapest prices I've seen, and we couldn't really fault them. We booked 12 days before flying for october half term this year and they were excellent, couldn't fault them and if our Thomas Cook holiday hadn't been such a good deal we'd booked through travel republic again.
2 weeks(3rd-17th June)
Self Catering
Flights and Transfers included
Thomas Cook
£1318
Flying from Glasgow
Priced in the agents about 3 months ago £2500
2 weeks ago priced online(Thomas cook)£1755
Last night £1380 today £1318
So went down to Thomas Cook today(my friend works there)And they have to match the online price, but i can pop into the shop every couple of weeks and pay a bit at a time with no interest
Thats 3 adults 1 child £1318 by the time i got back up the road it was £1357
So hopefully i have not jumped the gun and missed a new year sale, but my friend reckoned i wont get cheaper.
So deposits paid and i can`t wait

http://www.skyscanner.net you can put together a couple of flights for just over £120 return end of June/beginning of July from Gatwick. That means a family of 4 could have a 2 week DIY holiday for about £900. Not a bad deal!
Its possible to get quite a cheap holiday at the moment if you are not limited to school holidays. If you look on
2 Adults
28th August 2010. Marmaris, 4 Adults, 2 weeks self catering. In flight meals, extra luggage allowance, transfers and insurance included..
Thomson Flights inc all taxes and luggage £256 pp
Hotel in Gumbet 7 nights B&B £52.50
Private transfer rtn £15 pp
Total £373
Half board at the Arum (5*) in Side, in deluxe family suite (which was cheaper than standard family room for some reason).
Flying out from EMA on 8th July, dreadful flight times but same as this year. Prebooked seats included, flight meals, extra luggage (which is necessary with 16yr old daughter). Also included is Prestige Parking and valet (seeing as its the only time husbands car gets cleaned)
Coach transfer, but never normally drop off more than two others before the Arum.
Two weeks in the sun
Just over or under (can't remember, it was so long ago it was booked) £3000.
Because she was bored (ill at home) the daughter tried to see if there was no a price difference. She struggled to find flights (for four people) on the dates from airports we are prepared to travel from. She also couldn't get the hotel for any dates in July, but she emailed them (whilst saying thanks for the email they sent her wishing her a happy birthday) and they said they do have some availability but not much.
We booked this 30 hours after landing home after our wonderful July holiday. Ended up returning to Side in October in a cheap hotel (which I will have to review on here sometime) but cannot wait to go back to the wonderful Arum.
Six months and 20 days
12 june 14 nights, 2 adults 3 children flights £750 apartments £420 including air con and safe and transfers £100 going to icmeler, £1,270 all together doing diy couldnt get anything under £2000 for them dates.

I could have had the same holiday from sat Gatwick a lot cheaper, flights from Scotland seem to cost more
2 adults all inclusive with Thomas Cook 6-20 th August ,staying in Icmeler for £1707 flying from our local airport,Norwich, hubby works there so no parking charges.
there are some good deals about on flights in january on skyscanner and also many apartments are now releasing for 2010 season at good prices with transfers , and direct bookings with hotels
Booked on the 16th Dec with 118 Travel to the Richmond Ephesus in Kusadasi on the 10th April 2010.It's the second week of School holidays, so thought we had a good deal. £700 all inclusive for one week inc transfers, and baggage, which seems that most companies are putting in as an added extra from Gatwick. Good flight times as well out at 0800 arrive back 16.30. Also had great service from 118 travel and no debit card charge which most companies seem to be doing now. Can't wait.
thats not bad at all see the bargains are out there

Not from Scotland, they ain't!
Agree with Blondiescot - mine has just increased considerably since I lost my flights with Globespan and have had to book new flights from another Scottish airport.
unfortanatly thats how unscrupulous the companies are now
