So far have considered Brazil (apparently not a very good time to go and would be very expensive to get around due to size), Bali (boyfriend decided he couldn't go all that way without going to Australia), Perth via Hong Kong and Bali (boyfriend decided couldn't go to Australia without going to Sydney), Sydney via Hong Kong and Bali (eventually decided would be too much travelling), and Cuba (seems as though 3 weeks may be too much, if we were just going to do Havana + all inclusive beach 2 weeks probably enough so could do another year, doesn't seem that easy to get around or to book hotels independently)
Can anyone help by providing new suggestions or ways of getting round any of the probs above? Budget is approx £1,000 each to cover flights and at least some (preferably most) hotels, probably 3* but don't mind some nights in very basic hotels. Would like to go somewhere which is fairly cheap to eat, drink etc. Want to be able to explore ourselves (rather than coach tours) without there being a huge amount of travelling and would like the final 7-10 days relaxing in nice beach hotel. For example Thailand would probably be ideal but November apparently not a good time to go.
Please help if you have any ideas as I have spent days researching each option on this webite and others before rejecting them and am getting really frustrated. Almost got to the point where I'm wishing we only had 2 weeks as it would be much easier and wouldn't matter so much how much there was to do and see!
