I booked a holiday last year with what was then My trvel and now thomas cook for specific apts in la pinneda. 12 before departure i was informaed of a change due to contactual issuies between tour operator and resort. The alternative being offered to me is less than satisfactry as it is a deferent resort and although a higher star rating less facilities. When i challanged thomas cook they offered me a refund or if they can alternative accom. in the resort i booked but at an extra charge .
can anyone tell me where i stand regarding additional costs and compensation.
Unfortunately this is a common scenario. Their T&Cs will state they can make these changes (more often due to overbooking). I don't think you will be able to get any compensation as they alll work the same - you can have a refund or take their offer of alternative accommodation.
i then went online and looked in the holiday brochure, at somehwere i was happy to stay, i then spoke to first choice lady, told her the 3 places i would be happy to swap too, and we eventually sorted it out.....
